  • what a mostache

  • what a song, what a performance

  • yames yetfield yaaaay

  • He looked veeery touched at the end of the song.

  • Öh, "Metallica, the band who in the early 80:s did ONE great hit. Now Metallica's James Hetfield is doing his COMEBACK with his own COUNTRY project in Anders Lundins late thuesday 23.35 show.

  • @nofish6 What the hell are you talking about? They didn't have a single hit in the early to mid eighties. The first "hit" they had was "One" in 1988. Their biggest hit was "Enter Sandman" in 1991, among others from that album; "Nothing Else Matters", "The Unforgiven", etc.

  • @TheAbsorbant

Hehe, I meant it like a "how it could have ended up if..."-scenario. This video kind of give me those vibes.

Believ me, I love every single Metallica-album. But I can not understand why James Hetfield, lead singer of the world's biggest rock band, would like to participate in a Swedish budget talk show like this.

  • @nofish6 Oh... Well, what makes it even weirder, then is: wasn't Christian Luuk's show up and running at this time?

  • what an awkward interview..but James handled it well. And his perfomance was outstanding! I loved his voice in the 90's. I loved it in every era....but really this time period had a deepness...gruffness...and melody that was unique to this time period. Great stuff.

  • A proof that James (and all the Metallica members) are not just metalheads but real musicians. Great performance.Period

  • Ein wunderschönes Lied,Danke!!!!

  • @Putzilein1000 bitte ;D

  • @Putzilein1000 I've not studied german since 1995, so... huh?

  • nowadays we pay 50 bucks to see prerecorded shit.....we want real talented people like this in the next few years

  • this peformance of mama said is better than Jools Halland, great stuff, wish i could hear more of this live

  • @Miles12327 Glad to see someone agrees.

  • i like when he wrinkles his nose ;p so cute

  • SO much emotion!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wea bizarra kajkajaka

  • 15 years later... :D

  • awesome performance thank you

  • Man, I'd love to hear what this would have sounded like if he had performed it in 89'

  • at 7:12 i thought he was going to cry. he almost made me cry! dammit James why does your voice have to be so beautiful!! and yes i agree James looks cute here

  • the interviewer reminds me of till from rammstein lol

  • KKKKKK WHAT A DUMB INTERVIEWER!!!!!!!!! I'V NEVER SEEN SUCH A CLOW BRO!!!!! POOR REALLY POOR!!!!! FUCKIN' BRILLIANT JAMES!!!!!!

  • R.I.P. Mama Hetfield

  • Everyone else should leave the stage and James should play this at their gig.

  • ..................

  • ..........................excelent song!=)

  • "But I think if you lived in one of those places for that long, you would start writing stuff like us." James is brilliant, as is his music.

  • Comment removed

  • That's a fucking remarkable Metallica track that should be played more often on their gigs.

  • James is SUPER attractive in this video.

  • Love playing this song. Thanks, James.

  • 6:40 was so emotional :(

  • this is BY FARRRRR the best SHORT HAIR look for james

  • lovely?...yea james wasnt uncomfortable haha like he really cared about that dudes house

  • Comment removed

  • all women ther probably got horny xD

btw the interviewer is the biggest fag ive ever seen

  • Nice tight pants ;D

mmm Load era James. Just devine ♥

  • His voice was in the middle of the 80's and 2000's you can tell from all the scratches he has, damn you So What! damn you.

  • yea it was only played twice for somereason

  • great vocals in this one

  • is that ibrahimovic ? :D

"I thought it sounds very dangerous and dark", ja när vardagslyssnandet begränsas till Thomas Ledin och Magnus Uggla låter väl Green Day "dangerous and dark"...

  • @TheAbsorbant Helt sant!

  • Such a soulful performance! His breaking voice at 7:36 is so moving! I love it!

  • Lolzorz.

  • 10 people missed the like button

  • waht the hell what a good signing metallica-city.de best !

  • I used to be indestructible!!!...**big hetfields smiles**...we believe you Papa Het!!!!!!!

  • Did he shave his eyebrows?

  • LOL im swede , and not proud when i see stuff like this , I meen the show, but this "anders" is pretty known in sweden now a days , but realy good performance from james here ! " hej hej " same as "anna" in the dumb and dumber movie with jim carry :P

  • wow...you can see love in his singing...

  • "Yames Hetfeed"

  • JEMS haha

  • Big One!

  • really lovin this song and this version....very emotional for any mother of a son...very well done james..love you..

  • Did he call him Yames???

    ; )

  • @TH667 'J' is pronounced as a 'Y' sound in Swedish, i think :)

  • Did he say "Yames Hetfield"?

  • Okay, to repeat once again, since people never read the earlier comments, apparently... The letter "J" is a soft consonant in the swedish language. Thefore, many swedes don't pronounce it "dj" in english.

  • @MindControlUltra J is pronounced Y in their country ; )

  • @MindControlUltra In Czech, you'd have to write Džejms to make it sound like it should. James sounds quite similar to what that Swedish guy said.

  • james looks so hoott .. !

i love his laugh.. perfect *.*

    love the acoustic version

  • James looks uncomfortable..definitely not his favourite place to be

  • So full of feeling and passion this performance.

  • Vilken trevlig kille! haha!

  • Man, poor James, going into that studio... Must`ve been a shock to him -.-

  • @boleviken Don't worry, he's a brave boy :]

  • @boleviken Yeah man I agree with you!!! I can't believe James was in a convertation with this ugly dickhead!!!! What a jerk he was that guy! We must make a statue for James!!!!

  • Anders Lundin som intervjuare... what a joke!

  • I think Metallica need to play more Load and ReLoad stuff live.

  • @DeathMagneticSte

    they should play more this

    youtube.com/watch?v=B9d5fgDHEQA

  • @DeathMagneticSte i think metallica need to play thrash metal

  • thnx man for amazing video

  • that show host looks like a good damn pedophile.

but atleast james was very passionate when he was singing. that was the best version yet.

  • I've always prefered this live acoustic version to the original one

  • Whut's wrong with the girl's face between 0:04 and 0:06 ??? Did she freeze or something ??? LMAO !!!

  • @missbeeho

    haha good one

  • The dude at the begining is like JAMES HETFIEEEELD YAY! :D XD awesome video tho :P

  • If you mean the interviewer, I'm pretty sure he didn't even know the name of the singer in Metallica when he woke up that morning.

  • yeah whatever...you ruined it XD

  • "i need you're arms to welcome me, but the cold stone is all I see"this verse gives me creeps..james really knows how to write a song..deep lyrics

  • You are right, dear uploader. This version is...I cannot really find a fitting word...highly amazing, at least!

  • Man ...poor James ..he was so uncomfortable with tv and media stuff at that time...he was in a sad period of his life i think...we can easily feel it when you look at him answered questions of this weird guy! Keep on rockin James !

  • I love Metallica. But James sounded so much better here, alone. It just sounded so emotional.

  • "A son's hearts owed to mother". That brought me to tears

  • I never realised James was such a handsome man

  • Theres three live performances of mama said this one on november 15 1996, another do days back in london (nov 13) and september 7th 2004 in gaylord center with jeesi colter

  • jeims hetfiiiild

  • i personally think that James' higher notes came out a lot better in the other live video. Especially at 7:14, that part always gives me goosebumps, and he totally nails it in the other video.

  • James looks like a country dude :-)

  • Jejmz :D

  • lol the dude keeps calling james hetfield yames...

  • in many European languages J is a "y" sound, like Ja is Ya, which is yes in German

  • i've been looking for this one for ages, been remembering as a kid. Thanks alot.

    Lundin sucks balls though.

  • Anders Lundin = Pajas

  • James is Awesome,love him!

  • amasing, fuck that the swedish guy emberessd all the swedish peapol. METALLICA FOR LIFE!

  • Det gjorde din engelska stavning också

  • Is this the same year that the bassist (sorry, im useless when it comes to remembering famous names) died in the car accident in sweden? or am i totaly goosing around with years and names? :P

He said early that they have been getting around for 15 years, the second bassist was in the band for 11, im guessing here.

  • No, that was 1986.

  • they cut their hair in 1994 so...

  • Wrong, Cliff died in 1986 during the Master of Puppets tour, and Jason left in late 1999

  • Sorry, my bad

  • jason last performance was in 2003...

  • Wrong, Jason's last performance was at the 2000 VH1 awards while playing Fade To Black. He left the band in January 2001. And for the rest of the kids: Cliff Burton died on the 27th of September 1986 when Metallica was touring Sweden.

  • you're right, my mistake...

    Thank you...

  • No, You Are Wrong.

The Last Time He played with them was at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction this Summer...

  • What I meant to say was that his last performance as an official bandmember was in late 2000.

  • jason left 2001

  • Jason left in January 2001.

  • but he did play some tours with them however. He played in the S&M concert too.

  • S&M was in 1999, the last time jason played live was at the mtv awards in december 2000

  • Nah the last time Jason played live with them was the Vh1 awards playing Fade to Black.

  • öh no, The Last Time they played together was at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction, this Summer...

    Get your facts right dude

  • True you are right and i knew that but Rob was playing to. I forgot that. Peace

  • No Cliff died in 1986

  • He gives sweden a bad name haha. especially with his lousy english accent

  • lol, now they've been together for 26 years!

  • Yames??? Yames Hetfield? hahahah

  • Hetfield's entrance here is fucking priceless! It looks like something from "Knowing me, Knowing You" with Alan Partridge.

Before he makes his way down the stairs, he looks as though he's terminally incapable of giving a shit if he's there or not,and his gestures to the ladies over that cheesy chat show music is laugh out loud gold.

Nice performance of Mama Said too- used to have the version from Jools Holland on video.and this performance is even better.

Thanks for the upload of this.

  • holy fuck james looks so young!!!! doesnt matter how old he is hes still the fuckin man!!

  • james is just awesome. period.

  • he said like (Yayms Hetfield) lol.. j = y in sweden...lol

  • he's so fucking talented, i'll see him with the band in a week, im so fucking glad

    Avundsjuk :p

  • Good video, please what is the object in his neck, is something like sillver, but what is?

  • That's a beautiful version! What kind of show is this? And why is there 20-something women sitting there with name-tags of some sort??

  • Some kind of weird game-show where there were girls from a specific profession from every part of Sweden each week... Don't remember the specifics...

  • Load and Reload were amazing..I dont know why there people that dislike them..

If you're still stuck in metallica's 80's, you're not a true mtallica fan...plus, this song is beautiful, and its about his mom and how his relatioship with her wasnt great and she died 3 years after his dad left and stuff, truly from the heart.

Top stuff james you should play it more.

  • dude i agree with every word

  • i like the songs from the 90s but i dont like the 90s lol i was born 95 lol

  • I think he doesnt play it much because he must find it hard to, because lets face it, a song about his mom dying from cancer cus she didnt want kimo.

  • Very true. It's sad that such a brilliant song came from something so bad.

  • Yames Hetfield! LOL!

  • those women are creaming just listening to him...

  • is he saying yames hetfied? hahaha

  • Okay, to repeat, since people never read the earlier comments, apparently... The letter "J" is a soft consonant in the swedish language. Thefore, many swedes don't pronounce it "dj" in english.

  • James looks more honest & simple tha Lars..and that's cool

  • sweden got 9 000 000 habitants. and Anders Lundin is doing the interview...

  • your mother is your all!!!!!!!!! always protect her!!!! she is your mom and you should fight for her always.....

  • i like this version almost better than the studio version..its much more intimate

  • YAMES! hahaha wtf?

    great song.

  • james hetfield is a legend....always

  • lol its weird to see James Hetfield playing by himself! He's a great performer but its just odd to not see a drum set, bass, or another guitar near by.

  • it's little bit bigger then that XD hahahahaaha

    james hatfield rules\M/

    METALLICA RULES \M/

  • james is so fucking awesome, he has got to be one of the greatest guys in history (well, according to me)
