  • Wen I saw this 45 years ago the first time, I admired always Ringo, how he covered a mistake of Paul. Now I saw it again, and it is still a great thing. Imagine, you play in this hall with plenty of other noises, no earphones, and then at 6:00 Paul's voice failed and Ringo kept the rhythm and had still time to laugh.

    hehe

  • Started Im down on the second verse lol.

  • The 65-6 perdiod from Help to Revolver is my favourite Beatles era.

  • interesting version of yesterday with the whole band :)

  • @punkvictim I really love this version of Yesterday...

  • @BEATLES4EVER57 yeah it's really nice

  • Paul's bass is awesome.Especially for 1966. Did anyone notice that at the end of Nowhere Man, someone threw what looks like a bratwurst .Funny

  • nice guitar solo by George on Im Down

  • Wish I knew what German brand of Guitar Amp`s there using here ??

  • Beatles for sale langspieler :D

  • where's the song day tripper??

  • @renzopogi12

you want to see goegr with his gibson SG too?

  • @OropherThranduil yes. why?

  • @renzopogi12

well, I'll chased it round the Moons of Nibia, and round the Antares Maelstrom, and round perdition's flames before I gave it up. (Star Trek quote)

you can't find more than the 10 seconds clip from the colored police footage.

  • Was this really 1966? I thought it was a little earlier

  • @mammathus1

yeah, it was, 24th june 66.

  • Anybody else hear the Sitar influenced solo George pulls of in "Im Down" at 7:00, its 1966 so by this time they probably had already recorded Revolver if not about too

  • @TrenchtownHero

this concert took place 2 motnhs before the release of revolver, but just 3 days before this concert the last touches were laid on the album in the studio.

  • @TrenchtownHero your an idiot

  • I love the guy at like 2:15 singing along.

  • @cumbco: that was part of it, but also they couldn't really even hear themselves playing. This is just a few months before their final concert ever at Candlestick Park.

  • 2:58 - 3:06 .... epic

  • 6:10 Ringo Awesome!

  • Serious, I have never known any other band in history, to actually stop perfoming live, but carry on as a band. Anyone prove me wrong?

  • George and Paul show off some of their German at various points. They seem to be enjoying themselves.

  • Talk about out of practice and tune!!! I think by this time in their career they had it with live performance I guess!

  • @cumbco Listen to Nowhere Man though, that was a great performance.

  • @cumbco Well he funny thing is, apparently the day they retired from the stage, was the day they re-invented stage shows, i.e Monitors etc...

  • Wunderbar! ;0

  • PAUL'S HAVING A FIT WITH THE LYRICS IN I'M DOWN, EVEN AFTER JOHN GIVES HIM THE FIRST VERSE HE STILL KICKS IT OFF WRONG AND THEN FLUBS AGAIN IN THE MIDDLE. I LOVE RINGO'S REACTION. (Sorry about the caps but I wasn't going to re-type all that).

  • @MrUnderdog1970

dude, when you play a song like this, it doesnt matter the order of the lyrics. mccartney is just messing with it to be funny, especially since john just gave him the lyrics. also, when you play a song over and over, you change things around to keep yourself interested.

  • You can really see how far sighted John was in this video. It tended to make him tilt his head lightly backward and make him appear to be looking down his nose. Tending to give him an air of arrogance that wasn't necessarily him. He was so affected by tabloid opinion of him that he became a bean pole because he was referred to in one particular article as the "Chubby Beatle".

  • I love how John makes fun of the German language and screaming fans before Nowhere Man by acting spastic saying giberish- what a guy

  • LOL @ 6:30 - no one is moving - This day in age they would all be body surfing and jumpin' all over!! :)

  • 6:08!!

  • THE BEST OF THE BEST

  • I like this version :D

  • Mal ganz ehrlich, die Beatles waren zu dieser Zeit schon eine andere Nummer, aber wenn ich mir die Rattles als Vorgruppe hier anschaue und höre, stehen die den Boys aus Liverpool nichts nach!

  • The main attraction of the modern music of all time

  • por fin se escuchan en vivo muy buen video seguro delo mejor que quedo buenas guitarras, bateria, voces, ampificacion potente hay que verlo completo

  • John having fu fun a lot of fun!!!

  • The very definition of "phoning it in".

  • Cool, a Vox Continental on the stage! I wonder if they used it...

  • 1:26 somebody has a conversation with Ringo in the middle of a song!! At the risk of using a very over-used word, that just DEFINES random!!

  • @WisMiss101 well- Ringo never got to sing so he must've been bored- or maybe it was someone important

  • @WisMiss101 Naaaaa, they prob wanted to settle a very old rumour about RIngo, was he a Mod or a Rocker?, they prob asked, You're a Rocker eh?, to which he nodded.

  • What about the heavies in shirts and ties , arms folded . I would say Stasi , but this was Munich ; )

  • Great....Aways perfect performs, PS: I prefer yesterday just with Paul and his acoustic guitar.

  • I love these Casinos so much, especially George's, the one with the Bigsby vibrato. Love.

  • Wow, another live version of Yesterday on youtube.

  • I can see why the stopped touring after this haha

  • THe audience could hear it as well watch them singing along

  • I love Johns guitar playing on Yesterday... listen in for Georges bits too

  • awesome Performing!!!

  • McCartney's bass on Nowhere Man is incredible...he has to be the greatest bassist in the history of rock...bar none.

  • @Wolfbane62 he is a good bass player but not the best. John Entwistle I'd say is better.

  • @Wolfbane62 Your damned right! If you really want to get a closer listen to some of his master bass work, check out my "bass practice" play list on my channel. It's a collection of a few different people from across the world doing excellent bass covers of some of the "grooviest " bass lines Paul had ever done.

  • This is just a short time before the band quit touring and while they are clearly suffering from burnout and exhaustion, the genius of thier music and showmanship clearly shows through. This shows the greatest band in history being HUMAN. Priceless.

  • greatest band ever. John Lennon greastets music star, Paul McCartney most succesful songwriter adn George Harrison a master composer; amd Ringo Star was also some kind of a genius.

  • Wilt, join me on the elvis vs beatles sites

these elvis freaks are getting carried away.

NO ONE WILL EVER TOP WHAT THE BEATLES DID!

    NO ONE!!!!!!!!!

I'm taking them all on all alone.

    the sites..

    elvis vs beatles

    elvis vs baetles (spelled wrong)

    elvis vs the beatles

  • I just think that Elvis was a very great artist, but The Beatles composed their owns songs, :)

  • the beatles 4 ever ! ! !

  • it's so funny - paul accialy can't remember the lyrics to "i'm down" and right before he starts singing it (at about 5:38) john reminds him the first line. (it wasn't a new thing that paul kept forgetting the lyrics of this song.)

that goes well but then paul forets the lyrics again and at about 6:04 you can see ringo laughing, and hear paul not singing because he can't remember the words!!!

  • it's weird, I'm pretty sure that the beatles had longer hair in 1966, they look like 63 or 64 in here.

  • @itaigalgal Well they sing Yesterday and Nowhere Man which were on Help! and Rubber Soul, and those are from 1965.

  • All these guys with the white shirt and black tie in the background: cops as security

not interested at all, no emotion, how poor !

  • The Beatles didn't look like this in 1966. I don't think they toured that year either.

  • Sorry, you are wrong. This concert was in June of 1966 in Munich. 1966 was the last year The Beatles toured, with concerts in Manila, Tokyo and North America.

  • Convinced the boys could hear themselves for a change.

  • Johns guitar playing really made this song when played live.

  • Interesting to actually hear the Beatles perform this...don't think I've heard it like this before...used to the strings version...thanks for posting.

  • my all time dream is to meet the beatles, well paul and ringo or one of them atleast!

  • young and incredibly talented...listen to Paul's innocent voice with Yesterday...

  • Ja- Guter Bildschirm der Jungen an ihrem besten!

  • that band's got it
