  • Judy had beautiful eyes. One time, at a cocktail party, Judy was upstairs talking with another female singer and lamenting her lack of beauty. The woman said, "Judy, with those eyes of yours, you're more beautiful than all the women at this party." They both cried and went back to the party.

  • Very nicely done. The music is just perfect. What band is playing this?

  • @68sgstandard Red Norvo and his orchestra. :)

  • FYI: Red Norvo's Orchestra, 1937

  • They don't make em like judy anymore.

  • I really like your choice of music. It just works. .Thanks.

  • Thanks so much. I always would think of Judy when hearing this song (for whatever reason) and it materialized into this video. :)

  • Um... not that it really matters. She was talented and had a heavenly voice. I think that makes her pretty enough, in my opinion anyway. :)

  • She was so beautiful when she was alive. Now she's dead and I miss her. R.I.P. Judy Garland. I wanted to hug her so much when she was alive.

  • beautiful:)

    taken to soon though

  • i wish she was still alive. if she was she would be 86 years old.

  • I think they both were VERY talented, but they had such completely different styles that they are very difficult to compare. Both are in different leagues, so neither could really be better than the other. That's my opinion, anyway! :D

  • Back when America still had CLASS.

  • I knew a girl "Michelle" who looked like (young) Judy garland. There are certain pictures of Judy Garland I can't look at without thinking of Michelle. I found a book once of Judy Garland and had to buy it because of one picture alone that looked so much like Michelle.

  • I love this tune, I love Norvo, I love the music of this period, and I love Garland's ability to deliver a lyric as though it was occuring to her just as she sang it... imagine my disappointment at finding out that she doesn't deliver this shattering lyric on this post... has she ever recorded this tune? I'd love to hear it, if she has...

  • I completely agree with everything you said--Norvo was fantastic, and so was Judy...

As for the song, I can't say that I know if she has sung it--I could try and find out if she has, but I don't believe so. :-)

  • This from an album cut by Red Norvo ca. 1947

its last time he made a record of him on the xylophone - It is him at his best.Great piece

    thanks for posting it.

  • She is my idol. thnks 4 posting this.
