Only a child does not see the clear and distinct difference between a conspiracy, and an act that is done in the open. A child is incapable of resolving the conflict when the actions of a parent (even for their better good) conflict with their own wants or wishes. I found it amazing how he was certain he was going to die, and after making sure that he was not in immediate danger, his first major goal was to go out and help others. A true hero in a tragic situation.
