  • This is a how-to, to create contacts.. NOT how to create a CONTACT FORM. In your case the form is already created. You're simple showing people how to fill out Joomla's pre-baked CONTACT details with your internal users.

  • @0nr3y - correct... and? Since your out to split hairs, if you want a good FORM BUILDER tool for Joomla 1.5 try Smart Former.

  • @QuicSite - I'm not knocking your video it was very well done and very detailed IMO. 5 stars for that. But this video has nothing to do with actually Creating a Form. That's obvious wouldn't you agree? Take it or leave it. In Joomla there's an obvious difference between what "Contact(S)" are and what a "Contact" form is. Keep up the good work. Youtube is littered with misleading titles. And it's frustrating at times. All you have to do is change your title to "Creating Contacts in Joomla 1.5".

  • @0nr3y - Again, thank you for your observation. What do you think it should be titled then? Creating a contact form is what this video shows (yes, Joomla's pre-baked one). "BUILDING" one from scratch would be a different video, and I would have named it "BUILDING a contact form in Joomla 1.5". The terms 'creating' and 'building' are not synonymous. Like mentioned in the other comment, SmartFormer is great for this purpose. Have you tried it yet? Let me know your thoughts if so.

  • @QuicSite - >> you said: "What do you think it should be titled then?"

IMO.. the choice is what you're actually doing: your "Creating Contacts in Joomla 1.5" using Joomla's builtin "Contact Form" gui.

When I create an actual basic "Contact Form", placed in article, linked to a "Contact Us" link, I use none other than Chrono Forms Version 4. The most powerful and intuitive form builder out.. IMO

The possibilities are endless for creating not just basic forms, but dynamic forms based on userinput

  • Absolutely correct, and is because this is what the vast majority of users are wanting to know when the question is asked, thus the title. Cheers on being past this point and needing, wanting to build your own forms from scratch. Most don't know how to generate this form, and this video shows how... ie "creating a contact form in joomla" - building one is a different story.

  • PERFECTO, JUSTO LO QUE ESTABA BUSCANDO.. GRACIAS

  • thanks alot

  • Video Title "Lesson 9 Creating A Contact Form In Joomla 1.5"

Not a single CONTACT FORM was ever created during this video. This video should be titled "How to create new contacts in Joomla 1.5"

  • @rwebb626 - Thanks for your comments. A contact form was created - the default provided with Joomla. The video was not intended to show you how to create a form with custom fields in general. If you are talking about making new customized forms (whether it happens to be a contact form or not) try SmartFormer. It is ones of the best free extensions I've seen with incredible flexibility. I'm planning on rolling out more videos, may do one on this.

  • Thanks for really helpful video. my question is how to change standard contact form's fields? i mean i want to insert some new field like phone, or model,... to the form to be sent to me.

will be nice if u let me know

  • @ooskazem1 - you'll have to try a component like SmartFormer or something, you can't easily add fields to the default contact form.

  • Muy bueno e interesante y prático

  • Hello,
