    it is quite normal.

  • there isnt just uk and the usa there france cos i used to do reviews and i live in france :D but i do still watch your videos :D

  • what kind of laptop did you get

  • Stupid question. Does it work on Windows Vista?

  • Comment removed

  • How much did your editing system cost?

  • what format do you save your films in? Thanks for the Look, learned a lot :)

  • @SweTransformer before it was just a regular mpeg. Now though, because i'm using HD stuff, it's saved as mpeg4

  • @optibotimus Thanks for the answer :)

  • @optibotimus You should not scale videos

because it will mess up the video.

Will be worse if you scale up to 720 HD.

  • aiiimmmeeennn lol

  • hey do you have a PSN account

  • @savingprvtryan a what?

  • are u geting g1 megatron

  • u rock

  • Opti is a badass Star Trek Online player =D

  • guild and youtube....GOD!!!

  • i also afraid of boats lol

  • Very nice man. I acually learned something about this from watching this. I only have almost 50 videos(started on Xmas last year 2009) and I already learned soooooo much. I changed my style an quality which was good in the beginning.but I improved so did you I watched some of your 2007 videso I watched those when the figures were new and looking at you now it's amazing. Thanks for this video I learned a lot from it.

  • I"m very happy i could help out. :)

  • When did Andy get into MOTU??!

Oh, he's been holding out on us, man.

And yeah, I'm right there with you. Scared to death of flying and boats do nothing for me, either.

I dunno, for me, I think it's because it's just I enjoy having control and in neither of those situations do I have any.

That and exploding and sinking kinda freak me out;)

  • ya freaky huh???

  • Actually quite a good vid, especially on the bit on the software you use. As for HD camera, the only reason to upload HD is for those who watch youtube material on full screen. I don't know many who really prefer to watch em full screen.

  • Not to be negative but not much of this had to do with how you make your videos.

  • ummm how do you figure? I show the exact process i go through, except the transfer of the video from my camera to my computer....

  • As someone who is dipping their toe in the proverbial Youtube toy review pool, this video was very helpful. Thanks!

  • Pause at 3:37 . it looks funny enough! LOL

  • what the heck when the video kinda of stopped optibotimus had a wierd face no offense sorry if that really hurt your feelings optibotimus

  • when did the video stop?

  • @optibotimus when i just clicked on it when i first saw this video what i mean is when the video needed to buffer

  • I unfortunately only have G2 grimlock and he's in HORRIBLE condition...i gotta find a decently priced G1 version

  • cant wait for the ratchet review

  • do a vid on how to do a into

  • Hey paul, i do enjoying watching all your video reviews and i really thank you for the wonderful video reviews that you had done! Its seen fun watching you editing your own videos, =D i enjoy watching it n i'm glad that u enjoy editing them. =D wow..i saw lots of toys you had n i admire you! LOL....your reviews to me is always been great n i enjoy watching them at all times, especially that video review you had with wall-e.

    end of part 1 comment

  • part 2 comment

During that review on him, his head got stuck inside of his body and you tried pushing the button to eject but it can't.. after sometime trying it over and over with other ways again to eject his head on that same reviews, i guess?? LOL...his whole head pops out and flew out of his body and you started screaming..., that was a funny scene..i laughed until tears came out of my eyes. opps.. i really do enjoy watching your videos a lot paul, i couldn't thank you enough for that!

  • i have to go to bed now but im gonna watch it tomorrow XD

  • Interesting video blog. I use a camera the still uses tapes which gets transferred into my MacBook Pro via FireWire, and all my editing is done with iMovie. I have also been approached by YouTube to join their partnership program, but I fear my vids may not be up to their standards (they're of theme park shows). I would like to make money from a YouTube Partnership, but I just don't see that happening for me.

  • no way im 1996

  • Nice video! You know, When I see a 20-30 minute video I usually skip around it, but yours keep me watching. ;] I might do a video on this subject, but I do have one notes and 2 question;

-Agreed, too many people try to be the next big reviewer, like Sean Long or Peaugh. IMO I do the videos I do for myself, and hope that others enjoy them as well.

    - Is the getting paid portion of this sponsorship?

-Would you mind commenting for me, basically saying how you feel my vids are?

    -Knight

  • a couple pounds yea lol thanks for noticing :)

  • how do you make a into

  • the beginning annimation is made by a very good friend of mine name jaffe75 here on youtube. When the title comes up however, that's just random effects that are in my editing program. I then pick 3 2-3 second clips throughout the video and put them at the beginning...real easy

  • Very informative. I kind always wondered how long it takes to make a review other than the review itself. I'm actually posting my first video review. It will be kind of raw but I don't care. It was kind of fun doing it.

  • hey dude 2 questions 1 is the program u use called penacle i believe free? if so where can i get it and 2 im trying to find great intro software to make intros like ur friend made wat would u recomend?

  • @DragonlordRock862nd I used After Effects to create that intro.

  • after effects? sorry im stupid lol and new to making intros i was gonna use c4 adobe flash professional but that dident happen is the name of tghe program after effects? sorry again im stupid lol

  • You can use Flash as well. After Effects is another one of Adobe's products.

  • Nice video :)

  • what is that figurine at 10:00. its on the second shelf from the top and looks kinda like that mobile armor suit from the Avatar movie.

speaking of which, if they do release Avatar figurines/robots/gunships would u do a review on those?

  • @KingGear yup..that's the AMP suit from Avatar. I have a couple of the figures now. I'm gonna do some reviews on em shortly. I just wanna find the 6 inch version too.

  • How much can/do you/someone, make off youtube? Nobody has told me. And I would like to know how. Is it all the adds on your videos? Please tell me.

  • Yes it's the ads on the videos. You need to have a substantial amount of views on your videos and subscribers to be approved into their program however. And you aren't gonna get a lot of people answering your question about how much you can make off youtube...mostly cus it's none of your business lol

  • Ha, none of my business, true. But the thing is. About a year ago I got something from youtube about adds for my videos. And I don't know what happened but there have been no adds. Maybe I declined it by accident. I would like to make "play" money. Even though I save almost every dime I make LOL.

  • Sometimes they'll invite people into their program if a single video by a youtuber gets a lot of hits but others they put up don't. Other times they'll invite you into the full program. I'm not sure what happens if you decline it or if enough time passes that you can't get it again. Try applying to the program and seeing if they let you in

  • Alright, thanks.

  • Very helpful vid!

  • omg jetfire at 10:11!

  • Awesome its good to see how how you get your videos done. I just started doing reviews myself but I'm doing anime type figures tho I have a big transformers collection myself I wanted to stay away from those on my reviews because just like you said so many people are trying to get into that section because of the movie and for other reasons as for me I love the editing part as well. But i definitely thank u and the rest for helping me decide on the transformer figures to get over the years.

  • "Rodimus Prime, holder of tissue". LOL. Congrats on finally getting G1 Swoop! You're looking well too, I'm glad. I have the same kind of Toshiba as you do! Cool! What model is yours? Cool vid.

  • mines a satellite m505-s4949...not a supersized laptop...but a vast improvement from wht i was using. I"m actually fairly disappointed in my Swoop....i'll go into it when i finally review him lol

And yes...Rodimus has been relegated to the holder of snot tissue LOL

  • @optibotimus 16inch screen, right? Mine is a A505-S6005 as an xmas gift. I also have an HP 17.3" dv7 behemoth that's a desktop replacement. I prefer the Toshiba. You have great taste. G1 Swoop is a fragile toy. The wings can break easy. Studio 14 is so much better than studio 12. I'm so happy with mine now. I bet Rodimus wishes he was leader again, lol. That's what he gets for being mopey in Season 3. Mwa-hahahaha.

  • awesome bud love to c the personal side of you. thats what makes u one of the best!

  • why wont u ask them to come

  • OMFG i have the exact same tripod!

  • Looking good Mr. Botimus. Loosin a lot of weight!!!! U are my favorite reviewer Mr.Botimus.

  • I always wondered how you did those cuts. Very informative and I really enjoyed it.

  • just because it seems to take a little bit of awile but i guess that can be blamed on mail and editing

  • i just got metroplex within the past month...2 weeks or so actually

  • wern't you going to do a review on metroplex?

  • eventually...why?

  • nice i use adobe at for my school stuff (premire pro, after effects) it is so nice not to mention all the legitiment video tutorials. i'm gonna talk to my teacher and see about this programm for people who want to try different programs

  • lmao my bday is august 17 wu year were u born??????

  • David and Simon are the kings. Untouchable. They are humble and VERY friendly

  • Transformers reviews are a little bit too late for me.. I'm gonna stick to stop motions. :D And carry on my business...

  • whoa. almost 9000 subscribers?!!! nice job!

  • do you get paid by youtube because your a partner or is that just normal

  • i get paid by youtube because i'm a partner...yes

  • cool do you have any idea how to become a partner and heres a question i've been having what do you have to do for youtube just asking

  • well seeing how i am a partner lol i suppose i would know how to become one...wouldn't you think? You need a substantial amount of views and subscribers. I don't have to do anything for them...i just allow them to put ads on my videos...the we share the revenues

  • well thanks ill just hope to get more views on my metallica videos and hope your getting better from the hospital thing have a good one

  • beginning at about 2:50 were you think about Sean Long ?

  • my birthday is in 2 days I will be 10 years old hey and if you need someone from the US im available

  • why not have a video every month for people's b-days,they could just submit there username/name and there date. Then you could just read off the names

  • Do you think i have that much of time? lol

  • u know just a

    blahblah 12/12/10

    blahblah 6/26/10

then rap it up with a happy birth-day to all of you,or something?

  • lemme guess...do you have a birthday coming up? lol

  • not to mention...with almost 9000 subscribers...doing a birthday video for people would be a big task

  • i am one of those 9000 subscribers!!ur just so awesome!!

  • lol planes r scary but boats r fun!!wut kinda cam u got?

  • no not until june. Nice vid bye

  • man that bumblebee is so cool!!i cant find him anywhere do u know where i can find him?

  • what bumblebee?

  • Does that program like sony after effects? Can it do special effects?

  • it would be awesome if you would do the g1 dinobots just awesome

  • i've done all the dinobots except for grimlock and swoop...look through my videos

  • cool thanks

  • if you dont mind me asking how do you get your videos so long

  • I'm a youtube partner. They allow us to have unlimited times on our videos basically in exchage for them putting ads on our stuff.

  • ooooh ok thanks great videos by the way

  • Well Optibotimus, I guess you'll have to use the Mr.T method of flying from the A Team.

  • i use widows movie maker

  • a very good beginners program...it teaches you a lot and it's what i started on. :)

  • Ah i to remember using a web cam and do no editing or anything to my vid's, simpler times my friend. Though i think im happier with what im putting out at the moment.

Oh i wonder what you meant by "gaining subscribers quickly" lol.

i gotta ask you man, was the audio slighty off in this vid, or was it just me? not that it was bad or anythin.

  • it got messed up a few times when i'd pick up the camera and walk around cus i would get closer to the camera mic at times. Or...if i hit the camera lol like when i was putting it back onto the tripod haha

I agree...i'm much happier with what i'm putting out now. Those old days...sucked lol I honestly have no clue why anyone bothered subscribing to me back then...

and yea...that "gaining subscribers" message was a shot..seeing how more...circumstantial evidence has been found....

  • hehehe it still confuses me the reason why you would want to do that, but ah well. But i hate how you have a nice NEW laptop to work on, im sluming it with a 1.85 GHz cpu :( its so poop

  • I try to do one semi major purchase each year to improve my stuff. My one year anniversary on youtube i bought matrixprimes camera...a huge upgrade from my webcam. This past anniversary i got the laptop and editing software. My next one i want to try and get a proper HD camera

  • ah man you should go totally crazy and buy one of those proper filming camera's that cost like £3000 or somthing lol

  • oh now you're just being silly!

  • Great video, keeping making these awesome vids. :)

  • very interesting to see behind the scenes. keep up the good work!

  • ah i see you have the two wheelie's i made for you displayed xD

  • yes...yes indeed....the contest to give them away sadly failed miserably lol no one bothered listening to the shows :(

  • ah that sucks. you should try on youtube instead. I'm sure more ppl would pay attention then

  • ure review are amazing and it's good that u do other toys as well as transformers ure in the top 3 including peugh and seanxlong.

  • ugh

  • As all of us on twitter know, you must feel sooo honored to be held on the same plateau as seanxlong lol

  • OH god yes....LOL

  • is the software free?

and what camera do you use (recording)?

  • No the software is about 100 bucks. I forgot to mention that...sorry. The camera i use is a sony handycam DCR-HC48

  • could you show us a tutorial

  • umm i thought i just did lol

  • Hey, great video. I watched all 22 mins lol. I learned alot

  • Have you no fear of the direct sunlight on your figures? Especially Metroplex?!?!?!?! The yellowing....the yellowing!!! You make me cringe, sir. Lol! Great vid....thanks for sharing.

  • i got the shades down...jeeesh lol

  • but now that you mention it....................

  • In my collection room I have one window. It has blinds then covered by 2 layers of black sheets. Lol! I wish I could just box it shut.

  • MAN! I'm a big fan!!! you're my god >:D

  • oh don't go too far now...

  • haha XD roger that, but you are awesome.

  • being afraid of flying i hear you man, i have the same fear, just think about it i get dizzy

great video, keep up the great work

  • Just Keep going, really like your reviews

  • Patience. thats all i have to say!

  • you speak the truth young grasshoppa!

  • @optibotimus face your fears!!! old badger xD don't ask...

  • What kind of file formats can pinnacle edit?

  • The input formats it can support are as follows..

    .Video: AVCHD*, BD Blu-ray*, DV, HDV, AVI, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, DivX®*, MPEG-4*, 3GP(MPEG-4)*, WMV, Non-encrypted DVD titles (incl. DVD-VR/+VR), QuickTime® (DV, MPEG-4*, H.264*)

Audio: MP3, MPA, WAV, AC3*, WMA

Graphic: BMP, GIF, JPG, PCX, PSD, TGA, TIF, WMF, PNG, J2K

  • It took longer because my old laptop had a 1.6Ghz processor compared to my new one which is a 2.7Ghz duo core processor lol My old computer i saved everything onto a external hard drive...that i still use with my new laptop. I was sadly ill informed in the beginning of youtube career (HA!!) and thought it was about the RAM. So i loaded my old computer up on RAM...sadly though this didn't help. Editing software works off the CPU of the computer i learned. Then i bought the new laptop lol

  • Really awesome, i have been watching your reviews for quite some time now and always wonderd how you made them, thank you! :)

  • Your freakin Optibotimus! Your videos are awesome. You have helped me make important decisions regarding my own figures. Thanks!

SUBSCRIBE TO MY VIDEOS! lol Just kidding.

  • I think he's saying that one should never think their stuff is perfect...because once you get a perfect product...you cannot top that. Perfection is something always sought after...but never achieved

  • that's exactly what I meant. Even with things I like I still see the little imperfections. As far as I'm concered everything is a compromise. That's just my way of doing thing. That's not to say what beeop23 is doing bad stuff. It's just a different way of making videos

  • dont worry man your vids are awsome, i enjoy hearing your opinions

  • I love your videos, You do what most reviews fail to do, Research the topic. I love the cube effect at the begin of your videos.

  • Thanks!

  • Thank you for sharing. I have thought about doing some videos.

  • hey you think you could start a show my you stuff video thing where your subscribers show you there collections kinda like what you showed in the video

  • its a hits and miss when some one is found i started doing game reviews in 07 with over 260 videos and only have 500 sub i even help 4 other people climb and they took off while i just sat there. but that just how it is. i actually stopped making videos because youtube offed me partner then it just didnt go through

  • Thanks for the behind the scenes look. You gave me some things to think about for my own videos.

  • Glad to be of some help :)

  • I have the same poster as you. I also have a "Have a Day" poster that goes with it. It explains the dog on the right side of the poster.

  • You live in filth Paul.. filth... HA!

  • dude...could you see how dirty my office was?!

  • You of course know that was in reference to my review I sent you...

  • yes i know lol i tried texting you about that book btw...it doesn't seem to have went through...i need to know the title of the book and the author...i wanna pick one up

  • i know whts your password lol joke!

  • it's just a simple password that i threw together when i was setting up my new computer lol i don't care about people knowing it lol

  • Yeah i have the Pinnacle system as well, i don't have the HD ones with the card though, I run it on tapes and firewire it on the computer, good system though

  • I didn't mention that i too will transfer my videos from my camera to my laptop via a firewire. It's a quicker and better transfer rate then standard USB

  • Usually the only advice I give people who want to get more views and want to better reviews is not necessarily give up reviewing a Transformer that has already been reviewed on Youtube like 50 times, BUT find a new way to present it, do something different that seperates you from the other reviewers out there whether it be what you call your reviews, to your rating system, something that's fresh and not just here's the figure, I like it, you should pick it up, people viewing can see your passion

  • Very similar advice i'll give to someone. Because of how saturated things are in terms of reviewers...copying someone can be your ultimate doom. I have a unique style, as do you, as does peaugh, as does everyone really. But some people will try and copy us, to get that same success. It doesn't work that way...a lot of people will subscribe to someone because of the reviewers personality. Just be yourself...be unique in that regard and after time...good things will happen

  • your're lost weight, good vid dude.

  • yea...i lost a few pounds lol thanks

  • I like that you said that you're never 100% happy with the videos. I was told by an artist that you never get exactly to what you see in your head. There is no perfect show/ video/ review/ article. And if there is then quit, because you can't top it

  • I couldn't agree more. Anyone who works on any anything should never settle and always look for ways to improve something. Always learning and striving for a better product. Becoming complacent means you'll put out mediocre material and i never want to be mediocre. Some people though...ugh...

  • I found this very interesting and helpful. If you do get over your fear of flying it'd be great to see you at A.A

  • True, you can get a lot of leverage from a well setup SD camcorder and this video shows it!

  • Want lots of views? Have a lovely scantily clad lady on lots of your video thumbnails! Preferably with lots of cleavage showing! Dignity prevents me from employing it myself though.

  • I actually thought about using a picture like that as the thumbnail for this video believe it or not lol

  • i also hates flying and boats awesome vid

  • cool

  • Dude.... I hate boats and flying too! :P

And I know what you mean... A lot of my friends on YouTube are in America... T_T *pouts*

But yeh... Am off to do research about that 'pinacle studio' thing :P

    laters...

  • nice behind the sceens vid, good job

  • Well Paul if you're going to the UK.

Pherhaps you can pay the Netherlands also a visit ^_ ^

Well why not a world trip?

BTW have you seen my crib?

  • I have and i'm liking how it's comin together sir :P
