  • ERIC ???? DUH ..!!!!!

  • Lol , this is not Eric Clapton !

  • why there's a pictuer of bob marly if erick singing it !?

  • @assafBA23 It is not Eric's voice but Ted Christopher. And genius Mark Knopfler on guitar.

  • You've got to be deaf to think this is Clapton.

  • не догоняю, причем фотка боба марли? может кто объяснит, если не лень?

  • @Moonkanew no one understands you dickball

  • I had no idea Eric had a twin who was a musician.

  • is it me or does Erik Clapton look a little like Dr.House?

  • "Lord these guns have caused too much pain

This town will never be the same

So for the bairns of Dunblane

    We ask please never again"

This new verse was added to original Dylan's song and was dedicated to victims of Dunblane, Scotland massacre.

  • This is Ted Christopher sings and Mark Knopfler on guitar. Eric is a good friend of Mark, but has nothing with this particular performance.

  • @SrdjanLimich Thought so, this guitar is not like Claptons style and his voice is way different.

  • @Sjoek88 Yep. Go to "Best version of Knocking on heaven's door -with Mark Knopfler" uploaded by DogSwede1. There is full explanation of who, when and where performed this.

This is almost similar to situation with Mason's "Classical Gas" "performed" by Eric Clapton or Mark Knopfler.

    Best wishes from Armenia.

  • erick needs a haircut

  • Eric*

  • ai estão Dylan e Clapton

  • 'Erick' reminds me of those people who wear T shirts of bands they have no idea about. My friend had a Bob Dylan shirt on and then asked who sang 'Times are changing' when it game on the radio. WTF???

  • It's Eric on guitar... obviously! & Bob Dylan +extras on vocal

  • It's Eric on guitar... obviously!

  • Didn't Bob Dylan do this not Bob Marley

  • lol y there pics of Bob marley

  • @MrRagingGamer47 the person who made the vid said he liked bob marley, so he put a picture of him in the video...

  • Number 300 on likes woop : D

  • great job Erick, thank u very much

  • i think you've mistaken Bob Dylan for Bob Marley. It's Bob Dylan's song, and Marley never did a version as far as i know.

  • Who the fuck is "Erick" ?

  • way to spell dipshit. eriC clapton. one c fucktard

  • god damn it its eric.

  • I can't find the lyrics for this version, anyone know where to find them? without just listening and writing them down

  • thats not clapton lol

  • heavenaX bob marley never sung this song ,but what ever , seen's

he helped bob when eric did "i shot the sherrif" which peaked @ #1 in u.s.a

    no matter all is irie.

  • this song makes me want to cry we played it at my little brothers funeral 11 years ago but i still love it

  • there's no K in eric ;)

  • nice voice :P

  • This was one of my dad favorite songs may he R.I.P... I LOVE U DAD!!!

  • who ever said this guy ( eric clapton) sucks you'll really dont know what music is . ur probably listening to crapyest music for all we know

  • This sounds more like Mark Knopfler on guitar ... I'm sure this is him playing here!

This version was recorded in memory of the Dunblane Massacre 13 March 1996, were 16 children and one adult got killed. There's also a children choir singing on the background.

    On guitar here: Mark Knopfler

    Singing: Ted Christopher

  • @heavanaX First off, you're an idiot for uploading a song with Bob Marley and Eric Clapton pics when they have absolutely nothing to do with this recording. Second of all, Eric Clapton's name is spelled wrong in your title and this is NOT him singing this cover. Also, Bob Marley NEVER covered this song. You pretty much fucked everything up in this video and you look like a complete moron for doing so.

  • @DonStirFrye at-least he gave a good quality song which is generally advised to be played with eyes closed asshole.. you are such a dumb bitch .. video quality department clerk .

  • @ritesh10012001 Who is generally advising people to listen to good quality songs with eyes closed and what does that have anything to do with the uploader perpetuating misinformation to the public about who actually recorded this song? I think it's completely wrong and disrespectful to give credit of an artist's work to someone who has absolutely nothing to do with it. I, for one, like to know who actually records the "good quality" songs I enjoy and I think most educated people do too.

  • @DonStirFrye Valid point taken. All i wanted to say was that the quality of sound is good and the song is even better. enjoy that..

  • WHO EVER SANG THIS VERSION SUCKS.

  • @enigmaCSS Your mother sucks!!!

  • doesnt really sound like eric... how new is this recording?

  • @TheRecklessRock98

    coglione fuck!

  • This version is great. @KevServo...Have you called your proctolgist lately? They might have found your head....Good news for you bud.... keep up those stupid comments......cazzo in culo

  • wyclef jean´s version is better but this is also good

  • this the frist version i heard i guess that's why it's my favorit

  • If this asshole is Eric Clapton, I'm Lady Gaga.

  • @KevServo i know right?

  • i new this wasnt clapton - its ted christopher

  • chidoo peroo no se escuchaa a eric clapton

  • Eric clapton was one of my inspirations for wanting to learn this song . I recorded this in the studio 2005 doing all the instruments and vocals on the multi- track building the song up to how i hear it in my head when i play acoustic solo . If you can give it a listen any comments would be greatly valued . and if you do like my version then could you ask a friend to give it a listen and ask them if they like it they ask a friend to listen and so on thanks . Hope you enjoy

  • on which album does this song appear ?

  • This ist the beautiful version of Ted Christopher with Mark knopfler on guitar released in 1996 with the consent of Bob Dylan. Musician Ted Christopher of Dunblane, Scotland wrote a new verse in memory of the schoolchildren and teacher killed in the Dunblane massacre. A cover version which included brothers and sisters of the victims singing the chorus was released on December 9 in the UK and reached number 1. The proceeds went to charities for children.

  • why a bob marley pic?

  • @L0KO1 ups sorry i didnt read the info , im sorry :/

  • What the hell? It is Eric Clapton. Not Erick Clapton.

  • Great version; great lead guitar and a nice addition of the 23rd Psalm. I love it.

  • never herd this version before, iv got a more blue's style with harmonicers e.g on my laptop by clapton which is awesome. this one's cool to.

  • this is one of the best songs ever. i have family in the police force, and i listen to this song and remember all those who died.

  • bob dylan anyone?

  • there is no 'best' version. i mean i could make my own version (which i am actually going to do) and some may say its shit, others may say its great.

imo its the emotion you bring to the music which makes it so great

for example, my favourite guitarist is John Frusciante not because of the things he plays, more simply HOW he plays it

  • ok im like 95% percent its eric clapton not erick clapton

  • this song was brought out as a tribute song for the children who were killed in the massacre in Dunblane Primary School ..... we ask please never again

Cameron x and the guitar is Mark Knopfler

  • Comment removed

  • @olecountry45 Yeah because limewire is the 100% truth and they would never lie about anything

  • the guitar of this song is MARK KNOPFLER

  • I see the title: "Erick Clapton - Knocking on heavens door". Maybe this is Erick Clapton?!?!?!

  • unfortunately, this isn't eric clapton.

fortunately, this isn't guns n roses, either. god their version sucks.

  • OMFG is anyone else getting ads after vids

    its pissisng me off!

i hate the ads YT has been doing

like the occasional one b4 the vid

the occasional one after the vid and the one at the bottom of the vid!

  • haha good one guns n roses had one of the best versions, and id like to see you try and make a better version then GNR. really. id like to see you even play their version

  • @laxkid61

whether or not I can play the GnR version or make a better version has nothing to do with how much their version sucks. that's entirely irrelevant. I'm not comparing my playing, I'm comparing their version of the song to the ones that aren't terrible.

although I doubt it'd really be that hard. I write and play music for a living, asshole.

  • mark knopfler!! i know now

  • who is this composed by??

  • Bob Dylan

  • Helpless by Neil Young was earlier.

  • my favorite version!!!!!!!!

  • This isn't Eric Clapton playing or singing. Misleading title and pics.

this song it's great!! i love it in every different style!!!

  • not not not Clapton. Sorry.

  • You mispelled Eric.

    Great song.

  • bob dylan wrote it, clapton covered it, as did bob marley (hence the song being linked with his remembrance). and this version has a verse in the middle of it about the dunblane massacre.

  • Dylan wrote it.

  • Maybe I'm an idiot and have only heard one version of this song but I've never heard this version. Still love it though Clapton, Garcia, and Vaughan.

  • omg people know your frickin music! eric clapton wrote knocking on heavens door. bob marley and guns n roses did covers for the song because this song frickin rocks.

  • okkkk then mate.....if you say so

  • Eric Clapton wrote it? My god man, it's stupid how you expect everyone to know everything about music.

And then ironically enough, you manage to fuck it up.

Seriously man, do YOUR research first, and get your priorities straight.

  • Bob Dylan wrote this song ?? Eric Clapton covered it 'cause he's awesome!

  • Whole song is awesome! I love all versions except Avril Lavigne version. Bob Marley, Guns N Roses, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton - its all great! :-)

  • So you've gotta hear the portuguese version too: "Zé Ramalho - Batendo na porta do céu".

  • Thanks for info. I have listened to Zé Ramalho and now it is in my Favorites :-)

  • He did an amazing cover i really like it :)

  • @jdmjpjdb lmfao eric clapton did not write this song, u need to learn "your frickin music!"

  • Bob dylan wrote this song not GNR ass ho.....

  • why does it say Erick Clapton and there are pics of Bob Marley also?

  • There is a picture of Bob Marley.

    The title reads "Erick" Clapton.

Yet it's sung by Guns 'N Roses.

    WTF????

  • GNS? What are you on drugs? This is clapton...

  • Are you saying this is Axl Rose singing? Cause i can asure you that this isn't!

  • i think bob's three female backup singers are in it but i can't hear bob either. everyone says that there's some version of this song that bob marley sings but i have yet to hear it.

  • The one you are thinking of is bob marley and bob dylan performance!! check it out its nice
