  • uploaded exactly 2 yrs ago today!:)

  • how doyou keep the clay clean from lint?

  • @WendyRustrian Hi Wendy, I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner. I actually clean the lint off my clay as I go. That's really the best way I've found. I hate wearing gloves or anything like that, so when I'm rolling out my clay pieces, I just pick off the lint as I see it. You can also often move lint off a piece before it's baked by moistening your fingertip with water and then gently brushing over the lint to move it to the sides of clay and up off the piece. I hope that helps. :o)

  • Beautiful!!!!!

  • @DeniseCMS Thank you Denise! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. :o)

  • if your hands freeze from making a life sized one, make a teeny tiny polymer clay one!

  • this is AMAZING!

  • @2010GleeFreak Thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed it. Happy Holidays! :o)

  • @ftofclay May I say that apart from amazing is one of the most professional videos I have seen on polymer clay...and believe I have seen a lot!!!!!

Just a question...I guess you bake it an hour(as you mention in a before comment) because it is a big piece of clay, right?Because the instructions say 30min!!

    Happy Holidays!!

    Keep videos coming!:o))))

  • @pro1to1 Thank you so much for your very nice comment about the video. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I want to get around to doing some more here very soon!

  • I had to do this in two parts because it was too long. :oP

As to your question, the guidelines for baking polymer clay are generally 15 minutes for every 1/4" of thickness. So yes, because it's a bigger, thicker piece, I do bake for an hour. It also does not hurt the clay to bake it numerous times as long as you are sure not to exceed the recommended baking temperature for the type of clay that you are using.

Happy Holidays to you too! :o)

  • You're welcome! I like to help! =D I didn't mean to step on your toes or anything! Have a good one!

    Peace and love, Mals <3

  • @lifethroughthedark Oh no - no toe stepped on at all. :o) Peace and love to you too, Ginny

  • Hello can i just ask how long you would bake him for in the oven ??

his is adorable by the way !

  • @christina198028 Thanks Christina! I'm glad you like him. I actually baked him in stages. You might be able to tell that at the end, when I'm working on his hat, he's already been baked. This keeps me from squashing his head too much when adding the hat. So I baked him once for about 40 min. Then I added his hat and baked him again for about another 30 min. But if you bake him from start to finish then I would just do so for about an hour.

Hope that helps! Thanks for your comment. :o)

  • P.S. If you do decide to bake him stages, make sure that you let him cool completely before you try to add the hat. The clay is still somewhat soft when it first comes out of the oven, so you could easily damage the snowman by trying to work on him until he's cooled. Usually takes about an hour for a figurine this size to cool completely. ;o)

  • what is the difference between fimo and polymer?

could you make same thing with fimo?

    :(

    I' m little bit confused

  • @soocatwoman Fimo is just the name brand of the polymer clay! There is Sculpy, Fimo and Premier! More people use Fimo out of all of them, so they referr to the clay as Fimo! LOL! =P I got confused the same way! Hope this helped! Have a good one!

    Peace and love, Mals <3

  • @lifethroughthedark Thanks for stepping in to answer the question! Much appreciated!

  • @lifethroughthedark thank you sooooo much^^

  • @soocatwoman I'm so sorry that I didn't see your question sooner. There is no difference. Fimo is a type of polymer clay. There are several types - Fimo, Premo, Sculpey III, Cernit. All would work equally well for this project. :o)

  • @ftofclay thank you very much, I'm glad that you have now seen it and you answered me ^^

  • That is SO adorable! How would you add a ribbon to make an ornament?

  • Thanks so much HooahGirl! If I wanted to add a ribbon, I would make a wire loop by twisting a piece of craft wire together at the ends, and then insert that into the top of the snowman's hat before I baked it. Then, once it was out of the oven and cooled, I would just attach the ribbon to the wire loop. :o)

  • Awesomely cute lil guy....wish you'd talk instead of music tho :)

  • Thanks Katsy! I thought it would be boring to hear me drone on, LOL. Thought the music would be much more enjoyable. Maybe I'll talk through the next one I do though. I'll have to think about that one!

    :o) Ginny

  • your snowman is just wonderful!

    its adorable<3

    -Priscilla

  • Thank you Priscilla! I'm so glad you enjoyed seeing him. :o)

  • Adorable! I love his snowflaked tootsies! Can I ask how you made his scarf?

  • The scarf was made by cutting a series of pieces of two different colors and then stringing them together, alternating the colors. Super easy! :o)

  • that sow man is absolutely georgus.how long did it take to dry

  • Oh thank you so much. I'm so glad to hear you think so! It's made of polymer clay, so no drying. I baked it in the oven in stages, but overall it was about an hour and a half. :o)

  • Oh wow thank you for such a wonderful video! I love working in polymer clay and I make Christmas ornaments...you have a knack for this your snowmen are the best I've seen- just wonderful!!!

  • Oh thank you so much Starr! So nice of you to say. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. :o)

  • Thank you- I throughly enjoyed this video AND appreciate dthe music... Made me all fuzzy inside!! Thanks again

  • I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Isn't that music great? It brings back great memories from my childhood for me. :o)

  • cute........

  • Thanks hoopy! :o)

  • Great job! im not quite to that skill level yet but im getting there! what did you use that was on the end of the cotton swob or ear thing? lol

  • Thanks for your nice comment! I used blue and pink chalk on the cotton swab to give the snowman rosy cheeks and to accent the little snowflakes on his feet. :o) You can also use eye shadow. It works great. :o)

  • Aw thanks so much hon!

  • Awsome! How Fun! I really enjoyed watching you make your adorable snowman! You're so talented!
