EvE players will be in for a surprise, No "Hardcore" orbiting and pressing 4 buttons anymore lol. Also, looks way superior to EvE. Look at the backdrop planets and the station. And last but not least, it seems the ship designer of this game managed to not make every ship in game look like a asymmetric cock.

I will not buy/play this game if you cannot use any ship bigger than a fighter. I almost don't care if its the slowest freighter in the universe. I want a big ship, not some pea shooter! That i something I loved in Freelancer, the ability to play an online mod and work my way up slowly to a heavy train ship where I could carry cargo all over the galaxy with ease.

Yawn... beta'd a game exactly like this back around ~2002. flight dynamics absent... your ship dumbly follows your mouse pointer around the screen to the point of total annoyance. Ship abilities on par with everyone else in the game with the exception of maybe an uber gun or shield booster, etc.. Ship blows up, sit in your escape pod, hope for rescue or appear back at star base. Good luck , but as it is in the demo here, it is going to fail shortly after retail if it makes it that far.

Huh... Actually, I'm a little mistaken. Got one look at this and rolled my eyes thinking it'd be another generic console-esque space shooter.

Still doesn't really amaze me yet:

The news of the dampener and being able to turn it off really surprised me but the lack of a good demonstration hurts.

Needs a first-person perspective. Lead reticle would be nice.

You might want to take a look at titles like Armored Core For Answer for the quickboost-style behavior. Makes the fights hectic and fluid

As I noted in eve online forums, space mmo's are in its infancy, and Eve dominates this field right now. The dev. teams don't respond to complaints, of unfare, unbalanced game play in which new players in "secure" areas of the game are constantly out numbered, and out gunned (in most cases the new player isn't armed) hence the game has a high drop out rate. If jumpgate is as good as it sounds, I'll leave Eve!

exactly. The thing that is missing from most MMO is a good story line. Something worth fighting for other than "omg best in slot phat lewtz." Loot, questing and raiding only takes an MMO so far. Give me story, make me feel like I matter and I'll stick around.

Oh trust me, I dont want this to be anything like wow, but look at why wow is so successful. The devs of this game even said "We want [the game] to be played on even very old computers." which is a big reason why wow is so successful.

Don;t judge until you played for yourself, it don;t look childish to me, and you should support these types of games anyway's, we could use more sci fi games, rather than the over abundance of fantasy games out there, regardless on whether it loooks childish or not. Eve online is great, however like wow it is a bit over-rated, i can say hundred's of thing's about eve i dislike (Combat Number One Beef about eve)
