Have you noticed that the U.S. economy is going through a recession? And you want to regulate and discourage products vital to the health of our economy?
Those PoS have been butchering each other since the Belgians were forced out. In fact, one plantation owner, back when they were being forced out said, "You have to fight the jungle every day; they'll just sit on our porches and let the jungle take over."
Your heart is in the right place. Your head *isn't*.
Once upon a time, the "Republic of the Congo" was known as "The Belgian Congo." The bastards have been murdering each other ever since the world forced the colonials *out*. The cause of this barbarity is the barbarous PEOPLE of the Congo, not because of Samsung or Apple or HTC.
I notice that you haven't given up YOUR e-toys.
You want to help the Congo? Send in the U.S. marines an conquer it!
I think this is very sad and concerning. We should all take a part in the fight to help save the community of Congo from devestation and unnatural violence against families who live there. I will definately look into this.......
Whenever someone asks me why I don't have a cell phone, this is one of the reasons I list. And I always get completely blank stares. -_- I'm going to be spreading this video around.
@EarthRimRoamer21 - What did you watch this video on, and post your message with, two tin cans and a string? Or didn't you hear her say it's virtually impossible not to have a device with conflict minerals?
@Hiraghm I don't know what's got you so incredibly angry, but you should really chill out. It's ugly and bad for your health. To start with, my comment was a year old. It still holds true, but I don't remember writing it and I don't understand why you're harassing me about it now.
@EarthRimRoamer21 - Actually, it's P4A time again, and I'd just come from iJustine's P4A vlog where she's once again pushing Charity Water. I guess I was looking for more of this years vlog entries, and didn't realize this was a year old. The title "The Enough project" seemed intriguing.
@Hiraghm Secondly, while I understood long before watching this video that basically all electronics contain conflict minerals, I was simply acknowledging that cell phones are one of many such devices that we can easily live without (and I do) and expressing some level of gratitude for the creation of this video. It gets tiring repeating yourself. Nice to have a handy-dandy video to just link people to. I never claimed to not use any devices containing conflict minerals.
Conflict minerals language was included in the "Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act", which was passed by the US Senate on May 20, 2010 and signed by President Obama on July 21, 2010.
@itsMinuteMaid that's the thing i was talking about that isn't strong enough or being enforced properly. it's a step in the right direction, but clearly it's not working.
This is the wildest thing I've ever heard of! I'm so glad that you chose to make a video for this particular charity because this is something that effects all of us but more people definitely need to know about. I'll definitely be finding out more about Project Enough because of this. Great, great video!
It's such a scary thought. I didn't even know about this before I saw your video. If we're in the dark about something this terrible, what else are we in the dark about?
wow...i've never even thought about this. if people can get behind free-trade coffee and conflict-free diamonds, we should DEFINITELY see the need for conflict-free electronics!
T~T This is the only Project for Awesome video I have seen yet that didn't have any clue about be-fore. It makes me so sad! And also a little proud of myself that I don't have an iPod or cell phone.
Keep the charity spamming people! D F T B A! This years project is going well! Keep donating and "Thumbs uping" and watching and doing good for others !
Great video! I'm glad it's quite easy to find fair trade chocolate and coffee... it's already hard to find fair clothing, but fair electronics is a thing that I was wondering about for while. Thanks for all the information! I hope soon the companies become more aware of that problem and give customers more transparency about the products they sell.
wow. I never thought about that for my phone. It kind of freaks me out. You portrayed this problem really well through this video. I hope john or hank sees this because, honestly, you did a really good job. DFTBA

@thekangaroofish HA! Wow/crazy! This is, indeed, me. Thank you! I sincerely hope that you enjoy ANNA. Thank you for this great, informative (and scary) video.
@wowitsnicko well it's kinda shocking and about something in your pocket! It's inclusive and personal, I don't imagine anyone would want a product produced in part by such violence!
@JustMargaret thanks! I loved your video too! I was trying to decide which video to post mine as a video response too, and I saw that you mentioned DRC in yours and I thought it was a cool connection. =]
