  • I am really debating on getting a Bike I need to know what kind not to get for my first bike looking at sport bikes by the way.

  • @CoolWierdKid Most dealers don't give test rides so really the only way to decide is to just read a ton of reviews and go sit on a bunch of bikes. Get the one that feels best to you. See if someone will hold the bike upright and sit on it in the riding position with your feet on the pegs. If you're like most people you'll go through a bike or two before you find "the one". Good luck in your search!

  • ktm exc 350-

  • get the yz450f for trails...best bike i ever used

  • Were do you live?

  • @danishdude82 alabama

  • what was your first bike?

  • @dragonxg6 2007 Kawasaki ZZR 600

  • @kryten shit the fucking bed, bet you're glad you weren't born in crappy UK where your first bike has to be a 50cc when 16 or 125 when 17... It's ridiculous.

  • @suckityoudongo Yeah. From what I've seen most European countries are just big nanny states. We seem to be going that way. Our country is still relatively young. It will take just a little while longer for the government to figure out how to fully enslave us while making it look like its in our own best interest.

  • @kryten Yeah that's completely true! However I hope you do not become another UK for all of the USA's sanity will be destroyed. If it does happen I will pop up and say 'Welcome to hell'

  • @suckityoudongo done the same in Australia. I used to ride 1000cc Laverda Jotas and Kawasakis. Left riding and returned to be told I had to be on a 250cc, and one of the slow ones. I suspect the private sector influenced politicians. Notice all these private schools ans well as Honda HART that got into training?

  • Kawasaki ninja 250r owns all of them. The End

  • @galatasaray789456 yeah, my 50cc owns a dragster too

  • @NSRacer114 idk a lot about motorcycles but im hearing a lot of good shit about the MV Augusta F4

  • is it a 600 or 1000

  • @badaz2000gt 600

  • have you looked at a drz400 or would that be too big?

  • @deerman1212 I like the DRZ but its a big heavy for the type of riding I wanted to do. I actually got a dual sport already. I'm actually on my second one. I got a Yamaha XT250 but it was a bit too slow on the road but great on the single track trails. I sold it and replaced it with a Yamaha WR250R that's much better on the road and does hill climbs and single track pretty well too.

I'm still considering a DRZ400 for some long distance offroad trips though.

  • fz6.....

  • @lipos77 Hondas are known for their reliability, everything 250cc+ id go with a Honda but in this case i would totally go with the Ninja 250r!!

  • I find this video hard to masturbate to

  • What is it with you Americans (trying not to stereotype) but why does everyone buy a 600 Sportsbike as your first machines? That would be insane in the UK, get on our roads on a big bike first time, you'll probably end up dead.

Is it because of your licencing, or is a 125 just unheard of over there?

  • @killachipmunk Its rare to find a 125 here in anything other than a dirt bike. The lowest in a sport bike or cruiser as far as I know is a 250.

  • @kryten Wow, really? That's insane!

Over here 125s are the majority of what I see in a day...

I guess it's all down to the roads really

  • @kryten

Some people import 125cc sportbikes, 125cc scooters are common in the USA.

  • @kryten i sat on a cruiser 125 and started it... sounded like a scooter and was wayy to small.

  • @killachipmunk - my first bike i just got 3 months ago. for graduating highschool is a 1200. suck on that. we in america have BALLS sir.

  • @TheBarberjustin Now that's just stupid. Believe me you wouldn't want a 1200 as your first here.

  • @killachipmunk - been riding bikes since 4th grade man.

  • @TheBarberjustin So... how... was that your first bike?

If you got experience a 1200's fine, but you can't call that your first bike! :P

  • @killachipmunk - haha i see what you mean now man. :] xr 80 to yz 125 to a 1200 :P i understand what your saying now.

  • @killachipmunk I don't live in the U.S but i think that they don't use 250 cc bikes or lower because of their roads and distances... If you have to ride for like 500 miles you need a 600cc+ bike in order to have a comfortable trip. ;-)

  • @lipos77 roflmao...a 500 mile trip on a supersport bike would be extremely exhausting..the seating positions sucks balls ..think about it..500 miles is a long road ahead

  • @golf1diesel i was thinking about a TDM 900!!!

  • @lipos77 good choice,but i would like a Suzuki Gsxf 650 /something similar if i had the money..hell i would even go on a Ninja 250,i sat on it,very comfortable position...

  • @golf1diesel yep the suzuki would do the work. The Ninja 250r would probably kill your back after a couple of hours.. maybe. I want to buy the ninja 250 r or the cbr 250 but am still comparing them. I want it for the city so no long distances. As far as i know, cbr has a better fuel consumption but the kawasaki is a bit faster!

  • @killachipmunk

125 is legally too small for our roads. 250 Ninjas and the like are what most people start on and they are a much better choice than a 600cc sportbike like a gixxer for 95% of new riders.

  • @funnyyetdumb1 Huh, I didn't know you weren't allowed a 125!

    That's insane...

  • @killachipmunk yea its the same here in NZ if you start on a 600 sportbike you would probably die i started on a 250 ninja then had gearbox issues which lead to a crash and i then brought a 2007 gixxer 600 and had that for a year and ive had a couple of close calls on the roads i have never been on before cos we have heaps of the corners that just get tighter and tighter

  • @killachipmunk Even over here in Australia no one rides a 125, you never see them. Allthough we are legally restricted to 250 CC for the first year. wich is good, but yet anoying as hell.

  • @offerfish12 I guess it really is down to the roads then. Country roads for both of you tend to be large, open and very flowing.

Over here you can easily get into plenty of trouble with a 125!

  • @killachipmunk yeah i guess so hey, fair enough mate. You do get the odd 125 over here but that's like insanely rare. Like 1 - 500 bikes rare.

  • @killachipmunk 600's Are not considered "big bikes" in the states.

  • I ride the BMW K1200 S (2005), I love it. Stick with the nike that you love and what you are more comfortale on.

  • @rr1ke3 I'm comfortable on lots of stuff. Might even be comfortable on a Harley some day. I have my eye on an FJR or possibly a Ninja 1000 at the moment.

  • @kryten i love to ride man, my first bike was a honda shadow vt 750. the comment wasn't necessarily directed at you kryten, but more for the newbie bikers.

  • all i see down here in south texas are zx6r's or r6's, mainly because the honda/suzuki dealer here zukks baallss

  • You can tape strong magnets underneath your bike, guarantee not to ever get stuck at traffic lights.

  • drz400sm

  • I've got the Concours14 LOVE it!

  • I hate to be the guy that says it, because I really enjoy your videos - but you shouldn't be advocating that people start on a 600cc supersport. Your first bike was a ZZR600, very quick bike. That accident you had probably wouldn't have happened had you started on something smaller with less touchy brakes....

  • Long ass light

  • weres your camera set up at

  • @thecod6player Look through my recent videos. I have a video showing and talking about my camera setup.

  • @kryten ya thanks i found it

  • hey kryten for the long trips a can highly recommend the Honda vfr 800. It is comfortable for the long trips and still got plenty of power for the highway it´s a very nice sport tourer, also the reliabilty of honda is outstanding had a cbr600f4 for 5 years and it didn´t even blew a lightbulb. One of my old school buddies is on a arround the world journey on a vfr750 you can check his channel,it´s called mhoeyadventure. By the way i just purchased a cb1000r and it is a beast.

  • My first bike was a brand new 2007 Kawasaki ZZR600. I paid $7000 out the door. I put about 6500 miles on it in about a year and a half and then upgraded to my 2008 Suzuki GSXR 600.

  • the guy with the rare eath magnet is incorresct, it will not set off the light due to proximity/range, but his / her thought process is cool.

  • so tell me please what was your first bike did you buy new or used how much was it how many miles it came with how many did you put on it. I find first bike stories interesting. regards.

  • Good lord, how long is that stoplight!?

  • that was a longass light

  • Get a 08 and higher Hayabusa best ride of your life.. i had a cbr1000rr and i love my busa baby!!

  • r6 ftw

  • Hey look for Kipkay's video here on youtube for tripping lights. A few small (yet strong) Niodymium magnets on the bottom of the frame of your Gixxer should trip the lights.

    Hope this helps.

  • i would get an older XR250 they go for like $1,300 :) but maybe you're A LOT richer than i think...

  • GSXR is just way to common. The R6 will be the bike after my hyosung 250 . I am going to get a cruiser just not my style right now. The concours14 from all the user reviews I hear is a great bike, but same thing from the honda.

  • Kryten ... People ride gixxers because they are the cheapest of all of the bikes...

  • @westeh When I was pricing bikes the first time the GSXR 600, R6 and ZX6R were all almost the exact same price. The Honda was about $500 more than those. I got mine used and I got it for a really good deal. Maybe they're cheaper in the used market because there are so many of them, which is fine with me because I love mine and if anything ever happens to it I would love to be able to replace it cheaply. Kinda sucks if I want to sell it but I don't see that happening.

  • @kryten .... No doubt they are a great bike :)

  • @westeh my gixxer flys pass 186 mph without missing abeat

  • @westeh .. LOL!!! WTF?? get real cowgirl.. GSXR is priced with all the others.. Do the math..

Now, a 2011 GSXR600-750 is more expensive than others.

  • @LightningMAS .. COOL STORY BRO !

  • @westeh people ride gixxers... because they are the baddest. lol.

  • @westeh AHAHA, idiot

  • @westeh GSXR's are great all around bikes is why most people by them, a lot of reviews point out that it's one the the easiest 600's to ride fast on

  • @westeh STUPID Answer

  • @westeh You are not lying. they were compare to the competition. Actually a bang for the buck! But now they become a lot more expensive and ugly, and that is not all. If you follow motogp the "performance" is not producing results.

  • @westeh

cheapest of the bikes in the uk are r6 and r1 they are up to £1500 less than a gixxer or ninja and the dearest is a fireblade

  • You live in Hoover? Thats where I live, just on the other side of Hoover though. I want to get a 600cc but first I gotta get a job on campus... I'm kinda feeling the R6, but yea, on UAB's campus there are a lot of Gixxers. I really like the gixxer look but just like you said, I don't wanna be like everyone else. I like the honda because of the centered exhause. Once I get a job, i'm gonna be a 600cc owner. Or 400hp car owner lol.

  • @oiTzBiGJo Get the bike. You'll have a lot more fun!

  • 2500 miles?! how long did that take.

  • @drnicko18 4 days

  • Get a Goldwing haha just kidding, I've got an 84 Nighthawk 650SC right now. I plan to get a CBR 600 sometime in the future, or maybe I'll stick with my NH.

  • My experience with sportsbike riders - comes out on weekends (only if its not raining), cleans/polishes bike before the public's eye, shit round corners and acts all that on the straights.

I ride my Bandit rain or shine, dirty or clean, and round the corners probably better than most of these spotsbikes that are just for show.

I am a working class biker, and proud! :D

  • @Snowythebear of course if you are a sportsbike exception then that okay ;P

  • which do you think is better ? M4 or Yoshimura EXHAUST ??? What costs cheaper and Better qualitiy??

  • @hohohee1 I have no idea. I've never had either of them.

  • i wish i would have gone with a fuel injected bike. i got a 99 suzuki katana, and the carbs have gotten gummed up twice on me in the 3 years i've had it.

  • What about a Honda VFR 800 for a sports touring bike and something like a Yamaha WR250X for offroading?

Good vid though man, enjoyed it and the first part :D

  • If you have trouble setting off the light, stick some powerful magnets on the bottom of your bike.

  • just my opinion, i am not a gsxr fan. they arnt any better than any other sport bike, and personally i think they are ugly. not dogging on you or any other gsxr riders, just my opinion.

  • @ben14kansas I didn't mean that it was better for everyone. I think all the Japanese bikes are about the same as far as build quality and performance. I should have clarified that I think the GSXR is best for me. The reason is I'm a bit short and the GSXR is the shortest of the Japanese sport bikes. My first bike was an older model and it was carbed and I would have preferred having a gixxer instead. Its definitely better than my first bike.

  • Interesting! When I was bike shopping back in the day, :p I had no idea what kind of bike most people had. I actually went in and said I was interested in the supersport look and they showed me a ninja (that didn't fit me) and then the gsxr which I fell in love with. A lot of people go for the look of the bike and the gsxr is one of those bikes that turns heads :D

  • @ashf00t I did a lot of research and looked at what other people had. The GSXR seems to be the most popular sport bike around here. They are super sexy and they do turn heads. And the blue ones are the fastest! ;)

  • @kryten Haha yes they are!

  • If you check sport bike track gear, they have a "First Gear Luggage" section that has some nice saddle bags and seat bags made for sport bikes.

  • @ThaBR33D I'll check that out. Thanks!

  • Kryten, you should check out the Minimalist Touring Thread (250cc and under) on ADVrider, there are loads of people who do long touring trips on the small klx250 and the wr250 ( check it in ride reports :))

  • @Guybrush1816351 I don't want to do minimalist touring. Sounds too uncomfortable. I want a sport touring bike with a cushy seat, power outlets and all the other bells and whistles.

Those guys that tour on small dual sports definitely get my respect though!

  • @kryten :D, i understand. However that is what i am gona do with the first small displacement dualsport im gona get :). Netherlands and its travel distances are perfect for small displacement bikes :).

  • i also thought about the klx250 but as a 2nd bike.that would be so fun. but then i became poor again. as far as sport touring bikes go it depends on if you want to buy brand new our used, the concours had alot of good changes in 2010 but anything earlier then that i would go with the FJR because it comes with heated grips taller windscreen better ergo and more ...i think ,well its a pretty hard choose

  • @02wheels I need to hurry up and get all the bikes I want before I become poor again! I think I would be happy if I could score a decent used KLX250 and an FJR that's a few years old.

  • Get a z1000 they look sooooo sweet and more upright for a better touring/sport. That would be my first choice for sure :)

  • @DemiseJosh The Z1000 is nice but I don't know if it would have the luggage options and other little bells and whistles I want.

  • try buying a rare earth magnet and sticking it to the bottom of ur bike to trigger stoplights, idk if it actually works, but its worth a try
