  • This creeps me out big time.. I think I'm gonna have nightmares

  • NOT the coffee maker... oohh nnooooo

  • I've met a lighthouse keeper that had his first experiment as a keeper in the 60's

He told me that lighthouse is called "hell".

I've trusted him immediately as he shown me his own photos taken in another storm ...

  • Ya there's a spooky ass face there at 1:20

  • hey maybe im tripping butt can u guys see a face on the left by the brick wall and water at 1:20min

  • I think the keeper knew exactly what he was doing so no biggie for him

  • All the more reason to automate lighthouses!

  • Dam nature, you scary.

  • @thePhantomStalker My name is nature and you don't know me!

  • That's what happens when muggles get to close to Azkaban....

  • When i saw/heard this i felt that i would be killed within the next couple of days...

  • "not many people have seen it" ...3 million hits... lol

  • @nonsoundflux I meant the entire sequence of events ;-)

  • I would have got mi surf board out

  • I a long liner by trade... just another day at work!

  • I want to live there

  • That is your dream? A lighthouse keeper?

You sure you want to aim that high? *Sheesh*

  • i bet he gets no burning bags of dog shit on his door stoop.

  • Always wanted to be a light house keeper. This hasn't put me off.

  • who can see the face and the arms at the End?!?!?!

  • I always thought he was just smoking…

  • Until you give me the place, time and the dude's mobile number I'll continue to beleive it's a nice photoshop job.

  • The Ocean is so scary 0_o

  • They build light houses to warn ships of protruding ground/rocks... So no they dont build it from the sea floor up... They build it on the protruding landmass/rock...

  • i had never been so consatraded on something

    than more on this video.

  • Why on earth did you build a house in such a bloody dangerous place?

  • @steamgeezer

    its a light tower...

  • @steamgeezer BECAUSE it's a dangerous place

  • that arm face stuff is creepy

  • saw a documentary about this lighthouse. awesome shlt.

  • you picked the awesomest music to go with it!!

  • @bhaswoti890 I thought soo too, thanks ;-)

  • Must be global warming!

  • @PDUB816HA ikr, its dark, mysterious in many ways, cold. water is not my friend when coming to oceans, rivers, maybe streams(if over my waist). especially with this music playing.

  • water is terrifying !

  • You should enable the rating. A+++

  • its really like a yeti but on water you know?

  • can't see it.,

    nice vid btw

it gives me a creepy feeling in some way...

  • Lol not many people have seen the full story of events exept the 3 million who watched it

  • From what I read, giant waves (obviously not this large) like that are a common occurance at that lighthouse during the spring. The ones that hit previous to the photos being taken was probably larger than what you see in the sequence.

  • My parents have a massive print of that picture in the living room. Scary knowing the story behind it!

  • Creepy........in a good kinda way.......a beautiful disaster

  • Lighthouses are creepy as fuck!! Takes some serious Balls to live there.

  • The music is freaking the fuck out of me.

  • i love lighthouses its nice to know that someone cares

  • Amazing story, The keeper of that tower must be very frightened especially if he have a family and young children. How much do you think the salary of a keeper to stay in that tower?

  • A not so gentle reminder from some poor Capatain of the past to CHANGE THE DAMN LIGHTBULB WHEN IT BURNS OUT!

  • omg ive worked in a pub 4 8 years nd people ask me about this picture nd if its real or fake god i love you right now

  • I see two faces

  • spooky face in the wave at 1:19

  • i bet that lighthouse keeper rides on bus 62!

  • not too many have seen it..

    3 million?!

  • at the left side is a face in the wave

  • @Hamsterfreak2000 WHERE DO YOU SEE A FACE AT THE END ?!

  • 0:15 theres a guy standing at the door! "hey whats going o- OOHHAARGh!!!!!"

  • Thats awesome! I remember seeing this as a kid and always being told that he dies, now I can act smart and know the real story when it comes up again....god now I cant wait for it to come up again hahah *goes out and buys picture*

    :)

  • la cara que dice que hay al final del video muy rebuscado me parece, pero en una de las imagenes de como avanza la ola, en el lado derecho si aparece una cara mucho mas evidente.

  • stupid place to build a light house

  • pause at 1:17 .......look at the left lower side of the light house...u see the face??

  • haunting sight and haunting music hat off to these men

  • lol person was probably like ohhh shiitttt

  • i still have no idea how they build these things - how on earth do they anchor a lighthouse to the ocean floor 3km under water?

  • @BiggerThinking1 I think it's time to Google ;-)

  • @BiggerThinking1 That's an easy question. They don't. :-) If the sea is 3km deep, no one needs a light house. This one stands in water only 50 meters deep and is about 300 meters offshore. The most amazing thing about this lighthouse is the fact that it was only electrified in 1990!!! :-)

  • @BiggerThinking1 If you read the book about the lighthouse, it tells you how they built it. They would go out for a few hours at a time during low tide and build what they could before the tide came in. I think like 300 people died in the making of it. Check out the book...it's really interesting.

  • @ChelseaAnn69 300 people! Come on! Who would continue an unfinished project that took 300 lives other than the Egyptians with their pyramids . Much less who would apply for the job? ;)

  • @BiggerThinking1 They build it on a rock. If the sea was 3km deep there would be no need for a lighthouse!

  • @BiggerThinking1 They build them on rocks, so people dont hit the rocks! (-_-)

  • @BiggerThinking1 Your username is extremely relevant. Maybe a little common sense and general knowledge would come in handy here?

  • @BiggerThinking1 - The ocean floor is a whole lot closer than that. You don't put lighthouses in deep water, you put them where there are rocks (either just visible, or just below the surface) likely to damage shipping. The concrete foundation is built (in fair weather) on rocks not far below the surface.

  • @BiggerThinking1 A Lighthouse isn't built in 3 km deep water. That would be pointless. The purpose of a lighthouse is to signal ships for rocky waters. The lighthouses themselves are being build on those rocks, so they have a rocksolid anchor :)

  • @BiggerThinking1 so the whole point of a lighthouse is to mark land or shallow rocks so boats don't hit them; therefore these are always built on existing rock or in shallow water.... no need to build a lighthouse where the water is deep.

  • @BiggerThinking1 you should see the movie about the contrution of this lighthouse, is wonderful movie

  • @BiggerThinking1 not exactly sure how they built this particular structure ..... but they could PILE by putting the equipment on a barge or they could build a temporary dam and pump the water out then continue with the relevant construction methods needed. This could be done only if the water there is not to deep. other than that if the water is too deep the can build it on land float it out then sink it then anchor its more complecated than i say

  • @BiggerThinking1

    1. Portland cement sets underwater.

    2. Lighthouses are built on the coast, or near the rocks.

    3. When the wind blows off shore, or there is no wind, there may be no waves. at all.

    4. Its when the storm is there and the wind is blowing from the ocean toward the lighthouse that the huge waves come...

  • yeah i agree google :)

  • @BiggerThinking1 A lighthouse is built because rocks are too close to the surface. To prevent boats from hitting the rocks, they build a lighthouse on those very same rocks to show said boats a beacon to stay away from. It would be really pointless to just build a light house in the middle of the ocean for no reason.

  • @BiggerThinking1 They are built on areas where the ocean floor is high, thus to warn ships of the potentially dangerous rocks near the lighthouse that could easily sick a ship if it were to collide with it :)

  • how he get there?

  • Frightening and profound. Thank you for posting.

  • Thank you very much for telling the story behind the picture . I have a large print hanging in my livingroom, but never knew this story.

  • @juttanl no prob ;-)

  • so has this lighthouse been abandoned?

  • the song makes it scarier.

  • dang nature you scary

  • You guys should check out the wave that reached 1720 feet in Alaska. The splash went that high, and the wave was likely several hundred feet tall. One ship rode it all the way to the top and the people survived. Imagine being carried up by a wave that big...

  • wow

  • Anyone else sees the face in the water at the left of the lighthouse in the original picture?

  • @fosk8 Thats creepy, the one right against the lighthouse right?

  • @fosk8 Yes.

  • WOW !!

  • i have this picture at home when i watched this i thought that my house is haunted

  • The wave was dying down just as he closed the door. It appears that he would have been fine imo

  • How the hell do they build the lighthouse there in the first place? Its not like you get a break between waves big enough to build the structure.

  • @Nikkodemis yeah , and imagine most were built at the turn of the century. 19/20th that is!

  • @Nikkodemis brick-layers riding surfboards my friend
