Why does he keep subtly scolding Louis for trying to be humble and not declare himself an artist? I think that humility is key part of what makes him such a funny and emotionally resonant performer.

The only reason some people don't like the interviewer is because he is a, "so chicken wings helps does it?" kind of guy(CK is like, "yep that's what I said kinda"). I like the dudes interviews even though I find him to be slightly annoying.

What Louis says about people leaving the theater is so true. He goes more in depth in the Talking Funny special, but it's so bang on. The best comedians weren't the funniest. I don't laugh as hard at Pryor as I have for some other comedians, but when you leave the proverbial theater after watching a Pryor special, you know you've just seen something, well, special. Something you can watch a dozen times and still laugh. Louis is one of those guys that delivers just that.

I stopped listening to Q when Ghomeshi deliberately trashed Naomi Klein based on reading the cover of her book. He is terminally arrogant, compensating for his inadequacy. I don't know who at CBC he sucked up to, but as a lifetime CBC radio listener, I turn it off as soon as Ghomeshi come on, no matter how interesting the guest. He and Rex Murphy are destroying Radio One.
Always enjoy listening to Louis CK interviews...one of the most down to earth comics out there. He is definitely among the ranks of Larry David, Ricky Gervias and Jerry Seinfeld.
@thedroogfulable He's a better stand up than Jerry, more insightful and meaningful than Ricky. I'd say he's equal to Larry as a writer and director, but definitely a better performer. I was never really impressed with Jerry. His stand up never made me laugh, but his show did. But I found out later that the show was 10% Jerry and 90% Larry David. Larry was the horse that pulled that along.

His sense of propriety, care for his craft and ability to take an audience to uncomfortable points of conversation (and theIR willingness to go with him) makes him a viable contender as a successor to George Carlin. This is good.
@gummyguns I admire him and Greg Giraldo even more , both are latin/mexican men but neither have used the typical "lazy mexican" type of comedy in their shows, they've come up with their own comedy-talented men.
Why the dislike for Jian Gomeshi (the host)? Because he's not just lobbing up generic non-questions to set up a joke like some crappy late-night host? Yes he comes off a little long-winded at times, but it's a great interview.
And you can tell Louis appreciates a more real conversation. If you need loud noises or a dick joke every 2 seconds, there are plenty of other comedians to check out.

@reddra Seinfeld sucks and he has aways sucked, along w/Larry David. The biggest TV trick played on people across the world was convincing them that Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Friends were funny. Humor is subjective and that is my opinion but I could never watch those shows consistently or listen to Seinfeld doing standup. I would check in once in a while just to see if I was wrong and to be informed about my opinion, but the only reason to watch Friends was to look at Jennifer Aniston.

I think the reason people don't like the interviewers voice is that he seems to make an effort to speak perfectly smoothly and softly, which makes it seem very insincere. You get the feeling it's more about him purring in your ear than interviewing someone you find interesting.

Yes this host is asking very interesting questions, but he is quite long winded. Although he DOES have a perfect voice for radio.

Why the dislike for Jian Gomeshi (the host)? Because he's not just lobbing up generic non-questions to set up a joke like some crappy late-night host? Yes he comes off a little long-winded at times, but it's a great interview.
And you can tell Louis appreciates a more real conversation. If you need loud noises or a dick joke every 2 seconds, there are plenty of other comedians to check out.

@tmcm101 Overall I agree, but it's my personal opinion that Jerry Seinfeld was given way too much credit ( I know a bit off topic, but that one line bugged me a little. ) Also Louis CK is an amazing comedian...

@reddra Seinfeld sucks and he has aways sucked, along w/Larry David. The biggest TV trick played on people across the world was convincing them that Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Friends were funny. Humor is subjective and that is my opinion but I could never watch those shows consistently or listen to Seinfeld doing standup. I would check in once in a while just to see if I was wrong and to be informed about my opinion, but the only reason to watch Friends was to look at Jennifer Aniston.

@tmcm101 the IRONY is that Louis CK is just as comfortable (and full of wit) when he talks to the Gomeshis of the world, OR appears on Opie & Anthony (as he does VERY OFTEN!) ... so this is a non-argument. Louis ftw, no matter who he is chatting with!

I think the reason people don't like the interviewers voice is that he seems to make an effort to speak perfectly smoothly and softly, which makes it seem very insincere. You get the feeling it's more about him purring in your ear than interviewing someone you find interesting.
