  • The upholstery is not original, and the bed is also modified. They did not have a smooth bed plate. They had a ribbed bed plate that was bolted onto the floor that was covering up the station wagon floor pans. These were built from the wagons and the rear seat foot well is still under that plate! Also, i am familiar with the 283 and 348 V8, but have never heard of a 280? Also, I own a 59 and mine also has this type of AC it appears to either orig or at least installed when it was fairly new.

  • @jerywilliams Uphostery is not orginal. And you're right, the bed wasn't smooth but ribbed. I knew the Camino sprung from the station wagon chassis and no doubt the floor pans and rear seat foot well is under those plates. The 280 V8 is a one year only engine edition. The hp. is between 230 - 290 and bore x strokewas 3.88 x 3.00. I thought the AC was after market but since you have a 59 El with the same unit, I suppose it is original GM equipment. Thanks for contributing.
