  • Fantastic...no auto tuning either. How many of today's singers can even remotely get close to this?

  • 1:46 thats rock and roll right there

  • Little Richard said: "Elvis was God-given. There's no explanation. A messiah comes around every few thousand years, and Elvis was it this time."

  • @elvisinmunich Elvis once said: LRichard you are my inspiration and gave LRichard a bible. All Elvis fans must love Little Richard!

  • its hard to believe 1991 was 30 years ago

  • @4l4ddin77 What?

  • @4l4ddin77 20 not 30..and also what does that have to do with anything????

  • Elvis didn´t create anything in terms of rock music. He seizes every song recorded by black artists and yet earns respect by all media. He´s a typical figure of a yankee.

  • @willpn100: Why do you hate Elvis so much?

  • @elvisinmunich I don´t hate Elvis. I just don´t like obsessed fans opinions that warp all rock and roll history. They´ve only gotta give big ups to marketing!.

  • Elvis é a típica representação dos ianques. Não cria nada e toma tudo o que é dos outros para ganhar mais dinheiro ainda.

  • @marrygbonham ...Elvis was ok...but you MARRY are an imposter...!

  • I really like Clyde McPhatter's version but must admit Elvis is better.

  • little richard first did this song but elvis owned it!

  • This is one of his best songs, and one of the best songs in rock and roll. The Drifters version is fun to listen to, and compare. Two of the greatest voices--Elvis and Clyde McPhatter.

Over the years i've met at least five people who knew Elvis variously, and the constant is how likable he was, how well mannered. Long live The King!

  • Amaria ter assistido à um show de Elvis no ínicio de sua carreira.Simplesmente o maior!

  • Just think, just about 21 years of age, and he did change the world.

  • This was the first time I ever heard the song. Almost 50-years later, at a charity reunioin of The Sonics, we did it one-more-time in a TV that became a youtube. It can be seen using 'michaelsonics' as a search word. Enjoy. Michael

  • This was the first time I ever heard the song.

I had met and talked with The King later that year.

2-years later, :Money Honey' became the first song that my band and I, 'The Sonics' , ever played in public.

  • The King Of Rock N' Roll, and one of the greatest of all time

  • your sooo lucky to have been living in the 50's

I would love to have been there to meet Elvis, Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra.

  • Elvis Presley, Scotty Moore, Bill Black - The Greatest Musicians.

  • @Ali9149 You must not forget: Bill Haley & The Comets; Gene Vincent & The Blue Caps; and Little Richard & The Upsetters!.

  • @willpn100 All forgotten. Haley was left over from the big band era and had much of that sound still in his music. When you listen to Elvis, you get the early sounds of Rock. There is no line between them. It is funny how Elvis never cites him as any inspiration; just you. No, instead Elvis cites local and regional singers as his inspiration.

  • @OverandOutChief1 Haley will never be forgotten just because he´s the "Daddy of Rock n Roll, Little Richard will never be forgotten by all heavy metal bands and punk rocker bands too. Gene Vincent will never be forgotten cos he wrote the hit Be Bop a Lula" a rockabilly classic that Elvis was unable to do. Haley inspirations on Elvis is that Elvis was Haley´s collaborator. Haley sang for Elvis in Germany in 1958.

  • elvis...how great thou art!....just incredible!

  • That's MY KING!

  • He's the king of Rock and Roll forever ;-)

  • 1:31

  • ROCKABILLY

  • Heres the king doing what he did best.

  • Here is a modern female jazz singer who is 26 and white. She is an AMAZING artist and her first love is jazz and blues{not a good roll model}.Here she is covering an old song.On my profile I have put 43 secs of a live performance she did of Bille Hollidays Aint nobodys business if Ido

    watch?v=gLqsllrk5wQ

  • Cliff Edwards was white and said to be the first jazz recorded artist in the 20s.

  • One thing though finding a white FEMALE blues singer pre war is hard.

  • Here is a great blues artist who was black

he said "Many people do blues music but only a handfull know how to do THE blues and Elvis is one of them"

    Watch?v=QUijEbdwhN0

  • Here is a white country singer doing a song Elvis covered

    watch?v=qtJz_Wm-gG0

  • Here is a white man from Mississippi in the 30s doing the blues.

    watch?v=N5W7q8lsnPs

  • In the same way as Charlie Pride was a black country singer which does not make country music white...it's just a music.

  • ctd...and blues didn't get invented anytime or by anyone,it grew over many years by many artists,if not give me the time and year. What were the parents, grand parents and great grandparents etc of blues artists listening to or playing besides gosple?

  • @195477 yea but rap was created in brooklyn by black guys and not in texas, and the blues was created in the south by black guys and not russia, and jazz was created in new orleans by black guys not in north dakota.

  • Rap was created in New York.

Look up Debie Harrys contribution to the formation of rap it was her influence that helped the Sugar hill gang to Rappers delight in 79 folowd by er own song RAPture. Also look up the original Jimmy Rogers[who was white] born about the same time as WC Handy he has been recently awarded a plaque in Memphis for his contribution tho the developement of the blues as part of a trail where plaque are put in rememberence of certain blues artists.

  • @195477 Debbie Harry had nothing to do with rap. Before "Rapper"s Delight" was Fatback Band's "King Tim III". Pigmeat Markham's 1968 "Here Comes The Judge" is really the first modern rap recording. The Last Poets were also an early influence.

  • Here is a black country star performing in the 20s.he too layed on the grand ol'oprey like white Elvis.

He was black and Elvis was white...both played country.

  • There is no such thing as black or white music as music does not have a colour.

Is there such thing as tall peoples music, green eyed peoples music or blond haired blue eyed peoples music?

If a person is of mixed race what area do they fall into? People stereotype, is a black or white persons music from Australia the same as a black or white from Russia or Memphis? Some might some might not. White Jimmy Rogers and Black WC Handy born about the same time both did blues ..ctd

  • this is the rawest shit EVER.....i miss this cat more than ever.....!

  • The King Elvis! the best (H)

  • Geldgeiler Sack :)

  • Yeah. To really understand you had to be there. If your under, say 50 yrs, you probably Wouldn't (understand)

  • Elvis was the greatest man, if you ignore that you don't know anything about music

  • Tiny-bringin black music to white America was a MAJOR deal. This led the way to the civil rights movement 10 yrs later. He not only broke racial barriers, but also helped gave a voice to the rising new demographic that had money to spend-the teenager. He was the symbol of rebellion, and you cant forget the sexuality he brought, because he was a good looking guy. Also there WERE black artists that were very popular with white America ( Mills Bros,Louis Armstrong,Platters, Nat King Cole etc)

  • Elvis, although influenced by black music, didnt simply dance and sing like a black dude. He did have his own style. I havent seen a black artist pre-Elvis move exactly like him. But, more importantly-Elvis is not the King just because he was white. He actually represents a cultural change in the oppressed 1950s. Of course Chuck Berry, Little Richard etc were all part of it-but Elvis was the biggest and most popular, black or white.

  • Tiny Time- of course there are many great artists, better singers, better musicians, better dancers, better songwriters- but nearly every rock and roll artist at the time ( 1950s) and since-have recognized Elvis Presley to be the standard of a music star. HE set the standard. He was the one who made the biggest impact. He influenced more pop artists around the world, influenced culture, changed the dominant form of Pop music. He was the first - and that's why he's still the King.

  • This song was the first hit for The Drifters and Clyde Mcphatter!

  • actually there's only one musician that really did matter for music history and that man is Elvis Presley, if anyone should be called King of Music it should be him

  • One of his best live performances in my opinion! So vital and raw!

  • That's good!!! :-)

  • Este é o verdadeiro Elvis que mudou o mundo!

  • WOW he's madd cute lol and sings awesome too!!

  • Just BEAUTIFUL....and the song isn't half bad, either. :)))

  • hoy hace 53 años. xD The king

  • Gimme a break! No backup musician could make it on his own. But Elvis could. They don't call him the King for nothing.

  • One of His greatest perfomances ever in my opinion. Raw and energetic!

  • I agree completely.

  • What did Bellson say he liked about Fontana's playing?

  • Why is the audio completely off on all of your vids!?!?

  • turn ur sound on lol.

  • he means its not synced right lol

  • It that a piano banging out at 1:51?

  • thank you king

  • I grew up in the 50s and was always an Elvis fan. I had the opertunity to see him in person at the Vetrans Memmorial Auditoriam in Des Moines Iowa. After the show some girls told me and a couple buddies that he was at the Italian Villa resturant so we went there and met him and the Jordaniers. I also got him to sign an extended play album and a program which were later stolen.

  • Hey that's a great story. It must a very cherished memory. What a shame the autographed items got stolen. I unfortunately was/am too young to have met Elvis...

  • I tell you, imagining you going into that restaurant and seeing him let alone meeting and talking with him in the mid '50's is incredible.

  • I know, seems incredible but true. I am 68 now and have this memory. His back up singers the Jordaners were sitting in a booth behind him. Thank you for reading my little story.

  • I'm 65 now so I was 12 or 13 when he hit the scene, I can't remember if it was summer of '55 or '56. His first national hit, Heartbreak Hotel, was winter of '56. Was he alone in the booth?

  • Yes, he was alone in the booth. My friend and I sat across from him and talked with him. Heartbreak Hotel was new at that time.

  • Fantastic, you are a lucky dude Dar100g

  • Oh my God you're so lucky!!! Meeting Elvis and the Jordaners, in the 50's!! That's decades before I was born, but I love everything about the 50's,especially its artists. I'd do anything to go back in the past for a few moments and have that same experience!!

  • dianacosta1000 et al...If you just wait a couple of more weeks as I have to add the last details and tune in the knobs on my time contraption. Then I go, it's only room for 5 more so send your applications to me. First stop will be in Tupelo 56, 2nd the last performance by Buddy et al and third in UK 1960...not sure yet which gig w/Eddie it will be. Ok, all aboard? Then lets go folks.

  • elvis is the greatest singer of all time

  • Since I was born in 1963 I love seeing the early Elvis. Great job. But then I love seeing Elvis at any age.
