Did you get the TES Y-pipe with the headers also? How is the metal holding up? Any rotting? Sounds pretty dam good. Was thinking of getting a 2.5" single in 2.5" dual out spintech with the edelbrock headers & y-pipe
@Wafflebrah21 yea, the headers and the y-pipe came together. the headers are pretty rusty, no holes. the y-pipe started to rust, but i replaced part of it to fit better. i would suggest getting cermaic coated headers, the heat that thay make is insane. that combo would sound pretty good.
@blueolds01 Yeah cause I've heard both great and bad things about the edelbrock setup. Great sound and performance, but the metal deteriorating after a while.
What style SDT its it? Single in/single out? Single in/dual out? Sizes? Really loving that sound man! Makes me wanna ditch my crapmaster... oh and is it dumped or what?
I love that SDT;) Is it just me, or do the headers have their own distinct tone they give it? It sounds badass even for a 6banger...Gotta get one for mine;) Chevrolet All The Way!
oh, ok. i didn't know what the setup was withthat system. since these trucks have sooooo much crap related to the O2's, i know some of the aftermarket exhaust systems really aren't streetable.
i used a cut off wheel , cut the old one off, used 2 muffler clamps and slid the new muffler in place. i think stock size pipe is 2.25". if you cant get it, go to the local exhaust shop/midas and itll cost like 30-40 bucks.
Did you have to take the pulley off of the power steering pump to get the left exhaust manifold off, and there's a bracket that the alternator is mounted to that I know comes off. What other things did you have to do to get the manifolds off? Well actually your 4.3 is different than mine. The alternator on yours is on the passenger side and mine is on the driver side, and the compressor is also switched around. But anyway what did you have to do to get the manifolds off?
I don't even have headers and mine sounds just like that when you rev it. The only thing that sounds a little different is the idle has a little more rumble
sweet man!! that sounds amazing.. are you running a cat with that? if so what kind?

@countryboyrebel95 yea, factory cat.

@blueolds01 i love that sound.. i think im gonna try to get that on my 93 chevy 1500 with the 4.3

And the ceramic coating sounds like a good idea.

@Wafflebrah21 i think the ceramic coating would make it last a lot longer.

Bdstreich 1 year ago
@Bdstreich yup, you can keep the stock exhaust system. it wont sound like mine though..

totally agree mxboy, the headers do add to the tone.
hey blueolds, do those headers bolt up to the factory Y-pipe, or did you do full exhaust on it?
nice Dime by the way.
bootyluvr6869 2 years ago
the edelbrock tes headers come with a larger y-pipe. the stock one is quite resrictive.

djp511 2 years ago

blueolds01 2 years ago
Easily the best sounding 4.3 S10 on youtube... Are you running a tailpipe, or is it dumped under the bed?
XSchop82 2 years ago

How much did you pay for your headers?
DrumKing95 3 years ago
i think i paid a little over 350 for them at summit racing. they come with a whole new 'y'-pipe too.
