Here we see the Republican-nots asking for MORE Federal Gov. intervention, regulation and implementation when it comes to their "Morality" issues.... but not when it comes to the health of the medically uninsured of the US population.. what bozo's!
Not only is Frank on target, he does an excellent job of keeping his focus & finishing each thought as these clowns try to constantly cut him off. It's exactly what the hosts do on fox news; they shout down the guests they don't agree with & try to interrupt their every response. Way to go, Frank... You make us proud, still after you're gone. Peace, man..
Yah, you can just see the Fascist Theocracy in the current Republican canidates. All of them are some form of more extreme Christianity (Mormonism, Baptists, and others). If one of them said that they were actually an atheist right now, they would be out of the election in a second becasue countless centuries of Christian brainwashing has enforced in people that someone of a different religion or no religion won't do any good.
He was positively prophetic. It's Problem (immorality) - Reaction (slow move toward legislating morality). We are almost at the door of a fascist theocracy. But it has been like the frog in the kettle. The heat is being turned up so slowly that the frog (the country) doesn't know it's being cooked to death.
Oh, if only Frank could have seen the mess we've been in post-9/11. With the National Defense Authorization Act that just passed through Congress, he was right on the ball.
When is that turd fuck of a sorry excuse for a human being Lofton gonna drop and do the nap so I can unload a massive substantial steamer on his grave.
In a free country, when I hear these right-wing goons talking about morality needing to be legislated it makes me want to puke. You either live in a free country where people are going to commit acts you deem immoral or you live under a tyrannical regime that forces a moral code derived from a faith-based philosophy on the populace. I'll take my freedom and they can have whatever religious moral codes they want.
Christians have poured more money out to victims of catastrophes, crime and to the homeless than any other group combined. I am sick of this mis-representation. No-one sees how we freely give money to those who come to our churches looking for handouts, but it's part of almost every church's financial duty and is done without the stupid media's glory. The Christian ideal, that is, the ideal to live like Christ, is alone, the single most honest 'peace movement" in history!

@blueboyblue You are right, but we are already there. The definition of fascism is the merger of state and corporate power - we have that in spades. One example is govt. regulators regulating their own industries. The biggest is the military-industrial complex that uses hard earned tax dollars to kill people in the name of God (Bible quotes on bullet casings that U.S. troops use). And since Christianity determines our laws and culture, we are a fascist theocracy. Done and done.

Lofton rejoiced when non-Christian Servetus was burned at the stake by his hero, John Calvin in 1500s. Lofton believes in burning, stoning, flogging, slavery as per Old Testatment. Believes only non-Christians can honor vows or oaths. Said everything a non-Christian does is sinful. Lofton dodged military service. Enjoys easy life, loves to eat, plays on computer all day long, shouts and interrupts people. Can't shut up except to shovel food in mouth.
John Lofton is a hypocrite who wants Christian Reconstructionism (theocracy). He believes slavery in US was "gentler" than in ancient times; hates Lincoln; would have executed him. Claims we don't have civil rights; slanders Martin Luther King. Lofton declares career women are Feminists yet his wife worked. Lofton calls many women "sluts", yet his daughter's FB shows her dressed as one.
You know what I hate most is when well educated, intelligent men and women get knocked down by stupid people. My opinion is that they are just jealous that they aren't as intelligent.

BTW-For those who care-THE DEFINITION OF FASCISM---->Militant Nationalism.
This is where people get confused. We have been taught that Fascism means NAZI since WW2. Not true. READ AND LEARN, People! The USA follows the definition.
@brikrantz Excuse me - you were the one exhorting people to "READ AND LEARN".
The problem with your definition is it equally applies, say, to the ancient Spartans, who obviously weren't fascist.
Fascism in government is characterised by, roughly speaking, dictatorship (specifically, I'd say, elections being abolished), outlawed trade unions, neoliberal economics, militarism and a quest to "cleanse" the nation of impure influences (moral, cultural, racial, though not always the last).
@brikrantz I think it's accurate to talk about the "fascisation" of US (or anywhere's) politics, in the sense of movement towards the definition. But the US is not a fascist state.
For example, some of the developments in Wisconsin and Michigan (such as outlawing collective bargaining and dissolving elected bodies and handing them over to corporations) are genuinely fascist in nature.
@plevyman Thanks for your intelligent reply!! I'm sure that you get as many retarded comments as I do. You have demonstrated an interest in history written by more than ONE source. SOOO much info out there, and thinking people like you and I have to sift thru the bullshit and come up with something concrete. My original point was that MOST people think of Nazi Germany when fascism is mentioned, and it is a much more DIVERSE position than people realize. I try to make it simple. THX again!
@brikrantz Bob Novak is no longer alive. He was a widely publicized columnist until the day he died. The US looks nothing like a fascist state. Leftists are so in love with the power they believe this word brings they are hellbent on misusing it.
@kcgeil History proved Frank dead wrong. The issue was over the eminent danger and supposed fascistic slippery slope posed by record warning labels for explicit content. The warning labels were ultimately put in place and no fascism has occurred. It was the most embarrassing kind of reactionary leftism.
Since the Christian Coalition and Moral Majority DO NOT believe in the separation of church and state, they should be taxed! They want their agenda (anti-gay, anti-Muslim, anti-black, anti-liberal, neo-fascist) shoved down the American throat in the form of a Neocon right wing government that supports their extremist views. Their "ideal" society would be one free of unions, ACLU, Amnesty International, Muslims, blacks, gays, and anyone else who disagrees with them. They label as Communists.
@CrimsonSword36669 You do not know a thing about Christianity! You label anything you don't understand. Communists? I fought them! Did you? I doubt it!
If no one in this country can use critical thinking skills and comprehend what far right ideaology means than we deserve the government we get. Please read The Ominous Parallels by Leonard Peikoff and tell me America has not moved towards fascism since Operation Paperclip. CIA AND NASA awere formed with Nazi help. They were hired to figh the Soviets and their heirs like Rove and Arnie helped America move towards fascism.Obama's advisor (Axelrod is Trotsky's granson) We have commies too.
...for links on how the 'religious' right of the GOP is in bed with the New Apostolic Reformation's heretical drive to convert the U.S. into a theocracy.
Vouchers are being exploited to divert public education $ into 'religious' schools which teach "The Bible itself is intolerant, and true followers of God's word should be as well." ~ Bob Jones III, president of Bob Jones University.
I don't know if I agree with Frank on the facist theocracy because republicans and democrats all keep our laws balanced. In other words ,if one right wing schmuck tries to bring in the concept of marshal law,as an example, others in the congress will kill the idea. It's a fine balance and one idea, except the declaration of war, cannot be passed as law from just a far right president especially if the majority of thehouse and congress are liberals.
@fadethetrade The U.S. is the exception. Most modern democracies have at least three powerful multi-issue parties. The United States has two. The three parties tend to be Conservative, Liberal, and Labor. The United States has a neo-conservative party and a status quo party. The majority of Democratic congressmen are Populists and moderates, it's their voters who are liberal.
@fadethetrade omg you dont see that corporations run both sides of politics??
that they create an illusion that you the scmuck has a say in the running of your country.
obama (the 2010 nobel peace prize winner) just increased war in afghanistan killing thousands more innocent people, extended the patriot act which severely curtails personal freedoms, allowed the NSA to spy on ordinary americans, brought in body scanners into airports, even though it is proven the reason used was a lie.
When will people ever start basing moral decision manly on what is right instead of relying souly on religion. Religion is great but it can't be over logic we must first think of others an not ones who agree with us. Censorship should only be tolerated when the subject is for some sick game. Just because little Timmy hears the word fuck doesn't mean he'll start shooting up his school. Art imitates life not the other way around.
I don'y appreciate this man criticizing the Great Ronald Reagan
I quit being a liberal when liberals demanded I conform to obvious social myths (such as questioning the total infallibility of the Reagan administraition)
@SUpersaiyajinjerkbag ronald reagan was a brain dead puppy of the GOP and the fascist republican party wrapping itself in the flag and declaring itself in alignment with god, therefor unquestionable and infallible. As we now know this simply wasnt the case.
Zappa was on top of his game that day. Lofton constantly tried to trip up Frank and Frank trumped him everytime and he did it with cool , clarity , and sarcasm. The complete version is a very interesting video.
They thought they were going to talk to Frank about Rock Music and it's lyrics, and Frank changed the subject to what defined the current state of America and where it was headed, and Frank gave them something ultimately more important to think about.
I love Zappa and can understand his concern of a Theocratic State. The thing is that people have been talking about this for many decades now, yet today it has managed not to happen. The reason why i dont personaly believe Theocracy will happen today is because i believe there would be too much opposition due to current social change and the acceleration of information via internet, science and many other ideologies (Atheism, New Age, Buddhism etc) on the rise.
I love How Mr. Zappa TEARS the Depends off of Lofton and Novak and exposes their "nether regions" while simultaneously foreshadowing what will happen in the next twenty years. What an amazing cultural figure - he will be missed!
when your country needs to debate whether to screen a certain type of people over others because of their religious beliefs you are definitely getting closer to a fascist theocracy
His case for a fascist theocracy is interesting, but a Christian theocracy this country is not headed for. Maybe such a perception was the case during the Reagan years, but it would now appear more like we were closer to a theocracy that deifies the President, much like the Caesars of Rome during the 200sAD
These 3 idiots (Not including Zappa ofc) was wrong on everything they said.
How is anarchism right winged when it's a socialistic ideaology? Anarchists wants a stateless, fair and equal society. They are anti-capitalistics and believe in collective ownership.
And what is that "protect the families bullshit"? If you don't want your kids to hear Zappa's music, then don't buy the God damn records and let others listen to it in peace. Those fellas should learn the definition of freedom of speech.
in the whole thing the guy on the far left actually agree's with zappa alot its just that little prick in the glasses that wont shut up zappa was owning that night
He saw it coming alright, and it still pushes on stronger every year. Where the (#&$@! are the zane, smart voices today to undress the dumbass evangelical right? I guess they are out there but shunned by corporate media. Daily Show is the straw I grab.
If there's one thing the world needs right now, it is someone like Frank Zappa. Just to say the things in a clear and mindsticking manner unregarding the persons he or she is saying it to.
"when you have a government that prefers a certain moral code derived from a certain religion and that moral code turns into legislation to suit one religious point of view, and if that code happens to be very right wing.."
Frank was right. Truer words were never spoken. Now we havt to try to come back from the brink after Cheney and Boosh. And of course the Repugs blame it on Obama.
I guess they're not into paying close attention. It really is remarkable that the Repugs can't see the irony.
RIP Tom. You were a good man to go up against buchanan/Novak for so many years. It was a great show. Fuck Jon Stewart. Crossfire rocked. Rip to you too Frank, love you, brother.
Zappa was in a room full of morons. He knew he was fencing with unarmed men and said so about this "interview" later. It was very difficult for him to sit there for so long and listen to the inmates who were running the institution.
Zappa was always the voice of intelligent reason. Watch any of the videos that were made including Zappas thoughts and it is clear that he was head & shoulders above those desperately attempting to control others minds and lives.
Frank Zappa..not a fan of your music...HUGE fan of YOU! What foresight, and did he put those goons in their place or what? 3 on 1 and they had to cut to commercial! wish you were still around Frank.
@StopMKold You can be a fan of his music.Pick which style you like.He did doowop, classical, avent garde, jazz, fusion, heavymetal, hard rock.whatstyle of music do you like???rap??
Frank Zappa showing that a good musician knows nothing about good governance. The rhetoric stuck for the left wing media, and President Reagan's excellent administration was reviled and smeared.
So.. when should we make a religion based on Zappa. He's got more prophecies right than Jesus.

This is where people get confused. We have been taught that Fascism means NAZI since WW2. Not true. READ AND LEARN, People! The USA follows the definition.
brikrantz 6 months ago
@brikrantz Uh no, that's not the definition of fascism.
plevyman 5 months ago
@plevyman Then what IS the definition? Oh, SCHOLARLY ONE...
brikrantz 5 months ago
@brikrantz Excuse me - you were the one exhorting people to "READ AND LEARN".
The problem with your definition is it equally applies, say, to the ancient Spartans, who obviously weren't fascist.
Fascism in government is characterised by, roughly speaking, dictatorship (specifically, I'd say, elections being abolished), outlawed trade unions, neoliberal economics, militarism and a quest to "cleanse" the nation of impure influences (moral, cultural, racial, though not always the last).
plevyman 5 months ago
@brikrantz I think it's accurate to talk about the "fascisation" of US (or anywhere's) politics, in the sense of movement towards the definition. But the US is not a fascist state.
For example, some of the developments in Wisconsin and Michigan (such as outlawing collective bargaining and dissolving elected bodies and handing them over to corporations) are genuinely fascist in nature.
plevyman 5 months ago
@plevyman Thanks for your intelligent reply!! I'm sure that you get as many retarded comments as I do. You have demonstrated an interest in history written by more than ONE source. SOOO much info out there, and thinking people like you and I have to sift thru the bullshit and come up with something concrete. My original point was that MOST people think of Nazi Germany when fascism is mentioned, and it is a much more DIVERSE position than people realize. I try to make it simple. THX again!
brikrantz 5 months ago

HOW GAYS ARE BEING USED TO CREATE A THEOCRACY
...for links on how the 'religious' right of the GOP is in bed with the New Apostolic Reformation's heretical drive to convert the U.S. into a theocracy.

It's a fine balance and one idea, except the declaration of war, cannot be passed as law from just a far right president especially if the majority of thehouse and congress are liberals.
fadethetrade 1 year ago
@fadethetrade The U.S. is the exception. Most modern democracies have at least three powerful multi-issue parties. The United States has two. The three parties tend to be Conservative, Liberal, and Labor. The United States has a neo-conservative party and a status quo party. The majority of Democratic congressmen are Populists and moderates, it's their voters who are liberal.

Aridrir 1 year ago
When will people ever start basing moral decision manly on what is right instead of relying souly on religion. Religion is great but it can't be over logic we must first think of others an not ones who agree with us. Censorship should only be tolerated when the subject is for some sick game. Just because little Timmy hears the word fuck doesn't mean he'll start shooting up his school. Art imitates life not the other way around.

I love Zappa and can understand his concern of a Theocratic State. The thing is that people have been talking about this for many decades now, yet today it has managed not to happen. The reason why i dont personaly believe Theocracy will happen today is because i believe there would be too much opposition due to current social change and the acceleration of information via internet, science and many other ideologies (Atheism, New Age, Buddhism etc) on the rise.

when your country needs to debate whether to screen a certain type of people over others because of their religious beliefs you are definitely getting closer to a fascist theocracy
flipperboy 1 year ago
His case for a fascist theocracy is interesting, but a Christian theocracy this country is not headed for. Maybe such a perception was the case during the Reagan years, but it would now appear more like we were closer to a theocracy that deifies the President, much like the Caesars of Rome during the 200sAD

And what is that "protect the families bullshit"? If you don't want your kids to hear Zappa's music, then don't buy the God damn records and let others listen to it in peace. Those fellas should learn the definition of freedom of speech.

Hid death was a huge loss.
