Greatest Band of all time. The are sooooooo under the radar and i know for a fact that if the grammys didnt kiss ass to the bigger stars, Mute Math would be nominated for everything
i have been addicted to every song at some point. this is the only band that, to me, has never had a bad song. i feel depressed knowing that there is a whole album i haven't heard, especially since it sounds like this!!!
I love it when people come on & talk it up like they're some kind of musical genius & venture ignorant opinions based on nothing, as if someone's going to think they're amazing because of it or even care. Next time someone wants to do that they should link us to their highly successful band so we can all bask in the reflective glory of their ability. Oh wait...
I reeeally want to see Mutemath again, possibly the best band i have ever seen.
Thats just wounderful that you've played for 15 yrs. Too bad no one loves you or your music or posts videos of it. Its not about the difficulty jackass, more the creativity. let me know next time you have a concert ya prick
I am not saying it is terrible or anything....But I have been playing piano for 15 years and I know a thing or two...The people saying it is soooo amazing.. it's really not. I could teach you to play that in one day. Thats really begining piano stuff, and it's not even great beginer stuff at that.
you don't even get it, this undoubtedly will also be mixed in with mute math's awesome instrumental, rhythmically-enhanced, experimental progressive rock styles making this freakin' amazing!
I've been playing for 8 years, almost 9. I must say, I don't go around bragging about it like you seem to. It is most definately amazing that he composed that and that it's going to somehow, ingeniously, fit into one of their songs. It really is amazing, sure, you may be able to play that, with some practice I might be able to as well. It still is amazing music. By the way, lol, it is not beginner. Anyway.
MUTEMATH's awesome, this CD's gonna be so awesome. Probably a classic.
THANKYOU! Amen, 7thCommonDown. I've been playing for over 10 years, and you know what? This is awesome. Not in difficulty of playing, but in the facts that a)he composed this, b)it's an actual piano piece (rather than just a fill in bit or a couple of notes or accompaniment), and c)this video shows that he is an *actual* pianist.
Nevermind the fact that this will, somehow, be worked into MuteMath's (fantstic) music.
when it comes to receiving and enjoying music on a deep, intuitive level, the technical attributes of an artwork are never really important, it's mostly its atmosphere and the intensitiy of its emotional/intellecutal effect what really counts
Dandartabor got it spot on. I myself am a musician/producer and I know that technique-wise it's not the most superbly amazing piece of piano. However! Take a look at for example Snow Patrol. Many of their songs are almost mind-numbingly simple but as songs they are AMAZING and the level of emotion and connection which they reach is superb.
I really hope this kind of stuff will be featured on the album. I want to see/hear MuteMath explore EVEN more brave dimensions :)
Insightful comment :) I really enjoy Snow Patrol as well. I remember the very first Mute Math song I ever heard was You Are Mjne. On the bus ride home from a Jazz Choir festival during high school, I was like half asleep listening to my friend's MP3 player and thinking, "Wow, I have never heard anything speak to me like this before!" I would kill to see them live.
Another band that doesn't get much recognition is Coheed and Cambria. People sometimes write them off, but they're so creative.
I've been playing piano for roughly 750 years and this is soooo amazing. It really is. I could teach you to play it in a day, but your feeble brain could never fully grasp how unimaginably gorgeous it is.
Nice, you should upload the audio of this to "SoundLantern", you can upload all your music to SoundLantern, check it out when you get the chance, i have the link on my channel
all my friends and myself are skipping school the day this comes out and are going to my house and just listening to it over and over again. its gonna be glorious
He looks like a genius composer gone mad. With the swaying and playing in a dark corner. :D But being an artist, I can't really deem that odd, as I'd probably look just as odd if you were to catch me similarly eveloped in my work. Musical genius. Beautiful playing, Paul!
beautiful! it kinda reminds me of a peice from a movie..this is beautiful! you guys would do really good with soundtracks! well..you are way bettter than making soundtracks but you know what i mean:)
mute math is not like everyone else, people...they are one of a kind, with a unique method of creating the best music the world has ever seen. They know when the album is coming out, and they're going to drop it on us when it's ready....they're not throwing crap together to make an album, they're making amazing music that will be gathered on an album. There's a difference...be patient.
AAAAAAA I want the new album NOW! Not "soon". Heck, I don't even know the release date. All I hear is "soon". Soon isn't good enough! I must have it now or I will go crazy and eat vast amounts of chicken.
Those are some powerful notes, man. I like the diverse use of instruments we're getting on this album. Without It featured a traditional piano and is one of my favorite songs. Hopefully this will be as well.
When are we getting a release date? We need the date for the day we're getting a release date. Lol.
GOOD LORD that makes me happy. *Is* that Paul playing? Whoever it is, geez that's awesome - my general reaction was "*jaw drop* He can actually PLAY!" Like, classic-type playing. Dang that is awesome. Sooooooo excited. Ow, it hurts.
Awesome - Its a nice change to see something that isn't funny or too crazy (although those are always good.) - Just a straight piano piece, very nice!

Playing for 15 years IS an accomplishment... and I'm sure you quite an accomplished player...
However... don't discount someone's opinion of quality solely because you feel you could do better.
It's music. It's appreciated by the listener.
