I just finished watching your videos on threading could you tell me if possible what am I doing wrong that the thread keeps breaking and I just cannot seem to be able to move my hands the same way I see you doing the not or twist does not move as smothly when I attempt it could you help me please. thank you!
Eily i so have a q. ok so im wondering about eyeliner. like when it goes on the waterline how do u make it stay? also how do u get it off without like blinding urself with a harsh chemical or what not.also with brow powder does it or rather can the dust like fall into ur eyes durin the day? thanx! awesome vids btw.:)
The skin above my eye is very thin and stretchy and when I thread the skin gets pulled up and into the thread very easily and it pinches really hard and my skin gets really red and irritated, how can I prevent this?
I have one question because I have already been threading for a while. But I have the hardest time getting the front area of my brows like above the nose. Is there some angle I should put my head or some way to hold my hands to reach this area better? Thank you! You are gorgeous by the way.
My mother-in-law does this: she holds one end of the thread with her mouth and she has both hands free. She does like a see-saw motion with her head and I always thought it looked a bit funny. Has anyone seen this? Obviously, this is when you thread someone else and cannot possibly do it on urself (I reckon). I have tried threading on my face and I have totally and completely failed.
I will have to disagree that threading does not create bumps on your skin just like waxing. I have tried threading ALL OVER my face (my mother-in-law did it for me both times and she is Arabic and they usually do it all over: chin, cheeks, upper lip) and let me tell you. Apart from the obvious pain, after a day my skin getting bumps, like pimples. Obviously my skin is very sensitive and I am actually light-skinned so any redness shows right away. Of course everyone is different.
tht used to happen to me. after threading, i use hydrocortisone cream after disinfecting the skin with witch hazel. now i love threading without the fear of breaking out.
hydrocortisone cream is used for eczema, which is a skin problem where its really red, itchy, and dry. you shouldnt use the cream too much, it thins out ur skin and makes it more sensitive & also more prone to skin infections. just thought you should know! since i was prescribed hydrocortisone cream for eczema andd was told its not very good for ur skin and u should only use it if needed.
if you are getting little bumps after you remove hair, you want to exfoliate after. starting about 24 hours after u take the hair off. just gently exfoliate everyother day till they start growing back.
threading on myself seems like its harder for me than you lol i feel like my face is in the way O_o is there any special positioning of your hands to where it doesnt feel like u cant get it to where u want it to go? does that make sense;;;
try tilting your head back a bit. Also, turn your face to the opposite direction of the eyebrow you're working on. So if you're threading your left brow turn your face to the right and vice versa.
I'm anxious to try this on myself, had no idea there was a difference in application between type of threads. Thank you for the information. You are beautiful. xxNadia
thanks for sharing with us, side burns are the most difficult one to thread, my eyes gets so tried but i take a break and continue, very challenging. btw your eye make up looks amazing!!!well, you are pretty either with or with out make up..hehe
Eily, thank you so much for your threading video, I watched it a couple of weeks ago and I tried doing it for the first time today and it wasa success. Your video was clear and the best I've viewed so far! Thanks again, and you've saved me a fortune (I used to go to a salon to get my brows done) - not anymore.
my childhood indian friend use to thread my eyebrows, but since i never learnd how to DIY, when i moved into a different city i stopped threading only cos there wasnt any salon that does it, thank u soo much ur video helpd me alot and i hav been doing it myself ever since i watch ur video. thanks again u r awesome.
Your vids are great, I have tried threading a few times and I really like it, but I found that the pulling the thread makes my fingers sore after a few minutes, do you think I'm doing something wrong or maybe it's just getting used to it? x
thank you :) try shortening the thread so that the loop is smaller maybe that'll help if it doesnt what you can do is instead of just having your thumb, index finger, and middle finger within the loops try adding your ring fingers within the loops as well. If that doesn't work put a bandaid on your middle fingers where the thread rests or wrap some Gauze on them. hope that helps
yep, you can also wear gloves but make sure they're thin gloves otherwise you might wind up taking off a bit of your brows unintentionally if you can't grip the thread well.
Eily, I watched your threading video last year and it is by far the best video and the easiest to follow. So, easy that I have been threading ever since! And, your absolutely right about the polyester thread. It does hurt when it snaps back and it leaves red marks on my lid. So, I'm going to go out and buy the cotton thread just like the one you use in your video. Joann's Fabrics sells the cotton spools for anyone who wants to know where to buy them. Thanks again Eily!
I just run the cold water and wet my eyebrows b4 and during threading. This helps with catching stray hairs that need threading and plus cold water cools ur skin so it doesn't hurt as much then doing on dry face!
it's quicker because you can grip more hair at a time, and gives a cleaner look. What I mean by that is that It pulls out all the little hair that you may not see if you pluck them.
hi eily..iv been threadin for da past 2 years but not on my eyebrowsw..its just recently i tried threading my eyebrows..i still cant do the arch bit..onli da top of the eyebrows coz it catches ma skin and starts to be bleed..please can u do another tutorial on threading to see where im going wrong..thank u!!
You forgot to add that ur skin gets red. lol! It hurt.. sure did! I tried to get my mom to do it, but when she saw.. she said no and ran away from me. lol I'll get her.. soon!
I have been getting my eyebrows threaded for over 8 years and it is still very painful every time I get them done, especially the area under the arch :(. But, it is still a lot better than getting them waxed...you get a much better shape and you dont get any bumps...just some redness that usually goes away pretty quick.
Thanks for the tips.. I also have been threading my own for years. another lil tip... you can use a lil baby powder over the eyebrow and that would help it slide better and not hurt your skin...
i started threating ever since i saw your threading video...i love the way it works but i was wondering how i can thread my eyebrows without my fingers hurtingxand turning red?
try cutting the thread shorter so that the loop is smaller ir that doesnt work try putting tape or a bandaid on the fingers where you place the thread
can u do a tutorial 2 show how to remove hair off ur upper lip i have tried but its so much harder than eyebrows i dont know mayb its me or if u dont want can u give a tip
Thank you so much for this video, it was so helpful! And you are so gorgeous it's ridiculous!! I wish you'd do a tutorial on the look you're wearing....I looooove the green eyeshadow and nude lips!!
1. dab a bit of talcum powder on the part whr u r gonna thread, that will reduce redness.2. motion of ur both hands should be fast, the longer u keep the hair in the knot of the thread the more it will hurt, practice the motion b4hand.3. tightness of the skin would also lessen chances of u grabbing ur skin instead of hair, wich is extremely painful and might bleed. for doing eyes, lift ur eyebrows fully over ur forehead, while doing upper lips force ur tongue out on the portion wid ur lips closed.

When you get waxed if you use acne medication it can cause extreme irritation and burns.
I would know haha, I had these bright red burns around my eyebrows for weeks!
And it can peel off your top layer of skin too, gross! I stick to threading.
