A "fake" title still means that these guys have reached the top of their profession which comes with bigger paychecks and a lot of respect. TNA would put his kind of talent at the top, whereas WWE wouldn't. What is so hard to understand? Wrestlers who are not champions or are not on contract make anywhere between 400-1000 dollars an appearance if they are lucky enough to be scheduled. Whereas a guy like John Cena is making much more than half a million dollars a year.

@babcock3613 TNA didn't let him go. His contract was up. I always hear that TNA "released" someone. Half the time those people have no contracts and TNA just didn't book more dates for them and the other half is where that persons contract expired and they have become a free agent. Cage's contract expired and Spike TV (not TNA) wouldn't subsidize a more expensive contract for him. So he went back to WWE. Spike pays people like Sting,Angle,Hogan and others so TNA doesnt have to pay much for them.
