When i play this piece i make more room/space for the right hand octaves and chromates. The harpsichord has got a really extraordinary sound. But the peace would be soo much more beautiful if the instrument could sustain some of the notes more and the quirken/clicking/squirken of the old instrument was annoying:D. But still a great instrument.
Cuando algo se hace con el Alma, cuando algo se hace con las tripas como diria el maestro ludwig van, salen a resurgir las cosas mas hermosas como esta pieza, muy bien saludos camarada!!!
The saddest of all the Goldberg Variations. My favorite part of this piece is the right hand's descent at 3:01 to the dissonant in the lower register. May your mother rest in peace sir.
Wow - that's amazing playing and makes the harpsichord "sing" in a way I honestly didn't think possible. I love how you strike exactly the right level of fluidity of playing without ever going anywhere remotely self-indulgent, as so many others do when playing this music. Bravo - you make this music live and breathe. It's fantastic!
this variation 25, I just can't explain to myself. It is so overwhelming.
It's like the sarabande of the 5th cello suite. It's pure genius. we're so far from anything of the baroque period. No one else could have written something that deep, that penetrating in your soul, and I think anyone have done so yet
You are right, this adagio is almost like a tombeau with its chromatic lines. I nevber could have placed it when variation 26 is so happy. There should somehow be a pause after this adagio for some reflection.
Heh, I recognize the opening tune, it's in a Mozart symphony too (I think it's the "jupiter" symphony). Mozart of course took a lot of inspiration from Bach and earlier composers.
Landowska called this variation "the black pearl", and it truly is!! If You are not a professional harpsichordist, You should be. What a beautiful interpretation of one of the most moving passages of music history. I have heard Gustav Leonhardt play this piece in a concert, and Your interpretation was equally good. Congratulations!!

Definitely not so bad at all. Dry and stylish. I guess this guy knows the importance of a wife in a man's life, as well as tube amplifiers in a stereo rack!

Well played, and the expressive intonation of the semitones does well with your interpretation, too.

What a stupid comment, this man is a casual player clearly, and I mean that in the kindest sense. Excellent interpretation
