  • NICE!!!

  • moth of fucker bitch, this shit is not Talgo, is a 2 wheels wagons of bullshit, the real talgo is spanish, die from USA

  • To those of you that have ridden Amtrak's Talgo trains. How do the riding qualities compare to the Amfleet and Heritage cars? So far, to me, the Heritage cars ride better than Amfleet (likely due to the heavier weight and trucks). I've heard that in the past, light weight trains tended to be bouncy, but I'm assuming that these Talgo trains likely have a decent suspension system. Thoughts?

  • Dam that K5LA sounds beast on the Cascades! Or is it a P3?

  • That horn on the #509... DAMN.

  • Spanish Tech Mother$%)&% LOL

  • Great video dude! I live in Portland and I ride the amtrack cascades all the time to Seattle to wach mareners games! The two engines can easly go 110. Amtrack has been wondering if they can boost the speed limit for a long time... At least to 100! Haha lol

  • @aircraftfreak737 Now that would be something! I'll actually be back in that area this month, and I can't wait. Beautiful scenery!!!

  • @aircraftfreak737 I believe that the Cascades will be traveling at 110 mph by 2013. Two new Taglo XXI trains have been ordered for more frequent operations.

  • @gibb1991 What type of engine locomotives are they getting?

  • @Drewvinci The Talgo XXI is a trainset. So the locomotives and the railcars are one under the same name.

  • @gibb1991 Ok!

  • Fantastic video!!!!! 5 stars

  • i wish these were run jut a bit faster but they'll b running 110 mph from Chicago to Milwaukee

  • @Amtrak1194 Yelp! I think next year, not sure yet.

  • Nice video 5*

  • then they should be putting two F59PHI's on both ends

  • wow fabtastic

  • Omg. Best horn I've ever heard.

  • I think Amtrak should bend a few FRA rules and hit 110 occasionally!

  • Talgo alive! Spain alive !!!!!

  • WOW That was awesome! I love talgo trains and basic freghts. Nice shot!

  • I cant believe im saying this but that Talgo is MY Talgo! Stay off!

  • Horrible horn!

  • What's so bad about that comment? It's my opinion.

  • @juasha gosh now ill be, them horn be great yall say? gideup!!!

  • Ive always thought talgo trains are uglier than crap!

  • El primer tren es el Amtrak-Cascades con coches Españoles TALGO, basculantes en curvas, con gran confort de suspension.

  • Man those Talgo cars are so short that it seems to go by a lot faster than 80! Great shot!

  • @EverywhereWest Same thing with Eurostar and TGV

  • That is what i call a horn on the Talgo. What kind of horn do they use for that locomotive?

  • K5LA!

  • These Talgo sets were actually designed and built specifically for the EMD F59PHI's. (like the lead unit) The "bat wings" were added to match the top profile, to the inch, of the locomotives for better aerodynamics.

  • @anb740

why not go for a low profile unit like RENFE use in spain, rather than a huge diesel ? a

  • talgo train is cool!!!!

  • sehr sehenswertes Video !!!

  • Bravo MAESTRO *****

    Greetings from MACEDONIA

  • Great video amazing 5*

    jean noel ; --)

  • sed parece al pato S- 102

  • Does Amtrak also have talgo trains? I thought only Renfe had them.

  • Talgo drives also in Germany, Kazakhstan and talgo signed also contract with Bosnia. There are for sure also another countries I do not remember now.

  • does BNSF own the Oakway SD60's or are they leased, its looks like those need new paint after all they got 100 of those in late 1987 and were used as apower by the hour agreement if anybody else knows anything about Oakway SD60's pas it on to me

  • BNSF picked up the lease of these units after the merger. Thanks to the economy, all of these are now supposedly in storage along with a large chunk of BNSF's SD60M fleet. (and a bunch of other locomotives!)

  • @andybowe There is a lot of new info about them all over YouTube. ;o)

  • Great video!!!

  • wow good talgo trAIN and great horn

  • wow!!!!! good talgo train,2011 100mph?.

  • TALGO spanish train except locomotives

    Tren Articulado Ligero Goicoechea Oriol

  • TALGOs are based on a very original and unique idea that is to set just one pair of wheels between wagons instead the traditional way wich has 4 wheels per wagon so it strongly reduces friction. It's low leveled, articulated and made of aluminium that also makes this train ideal for curvy mountain lines.

  • Too bad they went under.

  • Do you mean the line?

See Talgo 350 (in association with Canadian Bombardier), also used in high-speed routes (AVE) reaching 330 kph

  • No, Talgo is no longer in the US market.

  • How many cars does a talgo/cascades train have?

  • 13.

  • wow! that's long. But canadian freight trains are longer. Average 100 cars.

  • yeah, freights in the US can go anywere from 100-180cars. I saw a 169 car intermodal train in fullerton, ca once

  • Holey Cow! Theres this video on youtube of an australian iron ore train with 4 locos & 250+ cars!

  • well those trains are TINY lol

  • Man, you're so lucky. Track speed through my city is 30. I don't get that kind of stuff.

  • lol youir luckier than me. the shortline speed limit for my town is 10 for the whole line.

  • we got talgos in germany, too!

  • AWSOME HORN !

  • I'd never seen the TALGO in operation prior to watching this video. This was a real treat--what a beautiful passenger train! Thanks very much for uploading this vid as I enjoyed it tremendously.

  • the talgo trains in spain 125 mph,the next generation rolling at 187 mph,in AVE line, alta velocidad española, series 102.the classic lines rolling 100-125mph.this is series 130,dual automatic gauge system, and dual voltage,25kv-3kv.

  • ouch bad horn on the second engine

  • If the Talgo was going 80 mph, it was probably speeding, since the speed limit for trains without cab signaling (and very few lines out west have that) is 79 mph (in practice, most tracks that could have a speed limit of 79 instead have it set at 70 or 75).

  • The Talgo train was on BNSF's double track, Seattle Sub. The speed limit for this section is 79mph. I can change the video title to "79mph" instead of "80mph" if it will make you feel better.

  • oh oh! Do 127 km/h!!

  • Dude the 2nd train is like A Gm

  • Why do they blow their horn? There was no level crossing, was there?

  • There was actually a 2-lane crossing about 10 feet behind me. (including one idiot who almost went around the gates)

  • Sadly it seems that people who ignore barriers or any other security at level crossings exist in every country all over the world.

  • Nice.

  • Those are some loud horns!!!!!!!!!

  • that was bnsf?

  • Marzo del 2001: El Talgo 350 establece un récord de velocidad de 359kmh por la vía de alta velocidad de Madrid a Sevilla (spain)

  • love how smooth they look, the cbbage car at the end always looks nice, those old F40's will never die

  • horn from defenetly from hellzzzzzzz

    daoh!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • do you also call the coal trains black snakes out there. I really like the doppler effect of the horn on the cascade.

  • The tilt train that runs between brisbane and rockhampton has the australian land speed record at 212kmh or 135mph and it has a camera in the nose so u can watch it eat up the tracks.

  • Use to live in Woodland Wa, Kinda Miss that sound, But you can not be in Woodland without hearing a train withen the hour, and when there, I know I will hear one or see one..

  • Great Video. I didn't realize that those trains went that fast.

  • I know that was an F-59 on the head end of the Talgo, but was that also an F-59 on the rear as well? It didn't look like an NPCU to me.

  • Never mind. I didn't see any grilles on it so it was indeed an NPCU.

  • The unit on the rear is an older F-40 that has had the prime mover (motor and generator) removed and is now used strictly for cab control only. In other words, it's gutted and the train is run in the opposite direction from this engine (so the engineer has somewhere to sit) and is pushed (just as fast) by the F-59.

  • Thanks.

  • Those are both SD60s not SD50s

  • Man I wish I saw those type of Amtracks in Gaithersburg, MD

  • Those are both EMD SD50 Demonstraters.

  • Why is the BNSF grain train called an earthworm?

  • BNSF regularly ran solid (and semi-solid) sets of the brown BNSF hoppers in unit trains, and the effect of watching one snake through curves gave them the appearance of a giant earthworm moving around.

  • Interesting, I have never seen one, but that makes sense.

  • Excellant shot of the Amtrak.

  • love the horn on the amtrak

  • Cool video. The horn on the passenger train kind of sounds like a steam whistle!

  • I was on that Amtrak train

  • Nice spanish talgos, huh? :)

  • That is sweet. You got to look at some videos I took. I took 2 Amtrak cascades videos.

  • Did the second locomotive, haved switch on is engine ??

  • I don't think so. I think it came after Amtrak Passed on some sort of siding.

  • Only one loco on the Talgos... The unit at the rear was just a cab/baggage car

  • ok thank you
