  • Also, this can't be raw cause the dehydrator cooks it. I have no problem with that though, seems like yummy recipe.

  • 1st, there is no reason to not eat green peppers. Second that's a lot of cilantro, it might taste a bit soapy

  • you are right, greens have to be washed well. great video!

  • HAHA!! These came out so good that I had to immediately make another batch. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe

    xoxoxoxo

  • She's got a great rack.

  • That's a sweet drainer!!!

  • what issues? why do you constantly try to predict, judge and guess things about me? why dont you just ask a question? is ego at play here? are u open to the possibility u may be completely wrong about everything? - relax dude!

  • I love watching how happy your husband makes you. So fun. Much love.

  • Thank you SO MUCH for making this video -- they look SO YUMMY!!!

I'm new to raw foods -- so I'm wondering if they'll turn out just as well without the yeast...

Also -- how long did you leave it on the screen in the dehydrator once you transferred it over???

    THANKS AGAIN!!!

  • nice looking chips.

    thanks for sharing.

  • can i use an oven

  • I dont have a dehydrator can i cook this in an oven?

  • Well, I DEFINITELY wash my kale thoroughly. Mine's home-grown and often home to lots of little caterpillars... Leave unwashed and your kale chips won't even be suitable for vegetarians, let alone raw vegans!!

  • @gwenhwyfar187 That is fair enough but I am happy to give mine a quick shake. I would rather not be deficient in 'good' bacteria and certainly not be ingesting the chemicals found in tap water. Regards

  • @0slam - as my dear old mum used to say "You'll eat more than a mouthful of muck before you die."! Which seemed daft at the time, but now I'm an adult, I hate to admit that she was right! (But my kale was a bit grubby - in more ways than one LOL!) Regards :o)

  • @gwenhwyfar187 LOL yes I guess it all comes down to opinion, for example eating the SALT and YEAST in this recipe is something I wouldn't want to do or ever recommend as healthy! I don't have a "DIRT" phobia and I'm proud of that :o)

  • Great info! One question... we just got the Excalibur dehydrator and I was wondering what the difference was between just using the screen vs. using the teflex sheets.

    Thanks!

  • Making kale chips as I watch this video. I can't wait (but will) until mine pop out. I will try your recipe.

  • Thank you so much for posting this!! Kale chips are awesome but so expensive...definitely going to try this :)

  • Please IGNORE the advice given about B12 at the start of this video. This is very wrong! And then stressing we should wash all the healthy bacteria and soil off the food is MADNESS, this is what will be detrimental to your B12 levels!

A fun video and sorry to be critical but I had to cringe when listening to this advice.

  • @0slam You can eat dirt if you want to, to each his own. LOL!

  • Eating soil is a wonderful way to infect yourself with a rogues gallery of parasites and bacteria.

  • @RaidenTheAlmighty WOW so many assumptions made there! A few quick questions: Are we all eating non-organic foods? Is bacteria good or bad? Is B12 not bacteria?

  • It's absolutely true that the microorganisms on unwashed vegetables contain b12. However, there are plenty of harmful microorganisms as well. I don't think you understand just how many types of truly dangerous parasites and bacteria are in even organic soil.

  • @RaidenTheAlmighty I think I understand pretty well thanks, humans have survived these dangers you speak of for millions of years and although soils are not what they used to be, I and many others continue to survive and thrive against these so called dangers! I would be more concerned with the chemicals you are "cleaning" your plants with my friend! Regards

  • Actually, I don't think you do. But, when you get sick, you probably will. I just hope you're the kind of person who is smart enough to go to the doctor when you get something truly dangerous to your health.

  • @RaidenTheAlmighty It's a shame you had nothing more to offer to the discussion. What does "But, when you get sick, you probably will." mean? What does "when you get something truly dangerous to your health." mean? You really are making no sense dear fellow. Enjoy your day, try to remain a little more positive :o)

  • @RaidenTheAlmighty I've not washed my vegetables for 31 years (all my life) and never been to a doctor for an illness so I guess you must consider me extremely lucky?

  • Yes. You might have just built up a resistance to the bacteria and parasites that you regularly consume though. Some people will eat unwashed fruits or vegetables and get sick.

  • @RaidenTheAlmighty Im sorry i still disagree, this is what the immune system needs, put simply it is all part of natures grand design. I believe too complex for anyone to truly comprehend. I trust in nature/natural methods.

  • @0slam water isn't going to wash off anything that the rain couldn't wash off...so if nutrients were washed off by water...well...there wouldn't be any point in eating any veggies lol. does that make you cringe?

  • @MrKyleandlindsay LOL firstly rain and tap water are not equal, secondly if you were correct the why are you wasting your life replicating the rain in your sink! Yes ...big cringe!

  • @0slam what about the people that died recently from eating unwashed organic strawberries? A deer had taken a poop on them.

I myself had food poisoning once from eating a water melon without washing the rind first...the knife carried bacteria into th fruit that made me extremely sick.

  • @MrKyleandlindsay I don't think it has been proven it was the deer, these are unbelievably rare incidents besides I grow my own food. Maintaining my B12 levels and maximum health is far more important to me. If your tests showed you had harmful bacteria on your watermelon then wash the rind, I just smash mine into two then spoon my way through :-)

  • @0slam during the day the sky is generally blue.

  • @0slam Healthy bacteria? You mean like Listeria, Salmonella, and E. Coli? Mmmmm. Yummy.

  • @boringsermonify Yes WELL DONE that's what everyone associates with health bacteria! [rolling eyes]

  • @0slam Are they rolling all the way back in your head, like you're passing out from lack of brain power?

  • @boringsermonify Passing out from low brain power!?! Even if that made sense I don't think a 12 year old would find that funny! You are a fully grown adult right?

Its OK I get it, you have nothing more to add to the discussion so you resorted to trying to make a joke. FAIL ;-)

  • @0slam Ok. I'll fail humor and you fail scientific food handling and lets see who gets someone sent to the hospital first with a bacterial infection.

  • @boringsermonify All my nutritional choices are based on science and I'll bet I'm stronger, fitter, healthier than you in every way. As I said earlier I've not washed fruit/veg all my life and never been to a doctor for an illness, so come up with as many excuses or reasons for that as you like but you may be waiting a long time before I get infected my friend. Peace

  • @boringsermonify Something else to consider is just because 'most' people wash their food doesn't make it the 'most' healthy option. Most people wear sunscreen on holiday, does that make it a sensible/healthy choice? Not to my mind!

  • @0slam

Science my dear and a good class in microbiology - there is back to the earth and back to the nature ... B12 is important as is washing your vegetables.

Thank you for the video Siegel - love it. I just wish I could get an inexpensive non-plastic dehydrator more easily.

  • @plhs987 I have no idea what you are responding too but thank you for your "wash your veg" input without any reasoning! I will continue to NOT wash my veg along with many others who are reaping the many benefits as we speak :) good day to you.

  • @0slam Another crazy raw fooder... Its what's inside, not out. 'Healthy bacteria'....lol

  • @kmcl11 I'm not going to belittle you for that comment because you may be very young and not educated in this area. Do some very basic research on bacteria and you may find it's is not all bad news, you may find it essential! Go ahead laugh in the face of science ...or just laugh at me its all good :)

  • @0slam Barteria is all around you dummy. That is why keeping it in your food is unneccessary. Furthmore no amount of bateria found in food will help you in any way when it contains pesticide and animal dung products, etc. Bateria is already in us. We dont need it in our food.

  • @kmcl11 LOL ...How to make yourself look like a fool in a couple of sentences - Well done! Firstly certain bacterias inside and on the surface of whole, fresh, ripe, raw, organic fruit & veg IS NECESSARY. Secondly as I have previously said my food has no pesticides. Thirdly, what is an animal dung product? Now who is the "dummy"?

  • @0slam Lik I said before, eating bacteria on fucking veggies is unnecessary! You sound stupid. Bacteria is already inside of you. Like the girl said here, if you enjoy eating dirt, go ahead and do it. And you dont know what animal dug is? LAMO

  • @kmcl11 LOL calm yourself down we all know there is bacteria inside the body, when you reach high school they will teach you about the many different types of bacteria there can be too! I asked what on earth is "ANIMAL DUNG PRODUCT"? and no I don't know what "ANIMAL DUG" is either? Honestly..... you think it is me that sounds stupid?!!!!!! lol well at least you entertained me for a minute or two.

  • @0slam Again. You proved yourself stupid from the start. Don;t even know what fecal bacteria is. Tard. Get a life and enjoy eating that salmonella. Raw food extremists like you are lonely losers. Only an idiot thinks we have to eat bacteria in vegetables. What a dumb idea. Bacteria is already all around you. I have said that 3 times. The uploader told you the same thing.

  • @kmcl11 Oh dear I starting to feel sorry for you now, the strength of your argument has become a little weak for all to see and have you resorted to acting like a pathetic child. Thing is you're not even funny to laugh at now so bore off - go educate yourself.

  • @kmcl11 =D!! i love it!

  • @0slam Do you not brush your teeth and go without bathing for days too? I am sure those germs are needed as well. If you are a female, you are disgusting.

  • @biblefarce Wow what truly stupid question haha. Oh and why bother asking if you then make the assumption I am disgusting! Go finish your homework lol, this page is riddled with hormonal kids.

  • @0slam So then you are disgusting. Its not a stupid question. There really are people who don't bathe because of so called needed germs. Lets hope you are not a female.

  • Recipe sounds wonderful. Don't have a dehydrator. Can I do this in the oven? Thanks!

  • this is great...where can I find that dehydrator?

  • @ASLstudentUSM Hi, I'm using the Excalibur Dehydrator 9-Tray, I got it at the company's website.

  • good thing you soaked your nuts!

  • i wonder if your chipping nail polish is organic?

    great recipe!

  • To dehydrate two big bunches of kale, I use 3 trays in the Excalibur dehydrator with just the netting. I just made two bunches (3 trays) and put 3 large red bell peppers, 1/4 tsp black pepper, 1/4 tsp cheyenne pepper, 1/2 cup olive oil, 1 tsp Himalayan pink salt, 1 whole avocado, juice of one lemon, and 5 cloves of garlic into the Vitamix. I poured from the Vitamix evenly onto 3 huge mixing bowls of bite-sized kale. Dehydrate for at least 12 hours at 110 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Thanks, thanks, thanks for this great video! I have purchased kale chips and decided to get a dehydrator so i can make my own. I finally got the excalibur yesterday so now I am ready to try the chips...fortunately youtube and you iare here and are helping with the process so I will let you know how it went!

  • Excellent, can't wait to try these out after I get my wife to agree to buying a dehydrator...haha....

  • that guy was annoying.

  • I like the music that played throughout the video.

  • Where can I order that dehydrator? Do you think it's one of the best?

  • This is so cool! Thank you! I'm jealous of your raw food helpers like dehydrator and noodle slicer. = )

  • Two things can you bake the kale if you don't have a dehydrator? Also what does it taste like with the green pepper just curious? Does this really taste cheesy?

  • jalapeno seeds are not hot but the fleshy white stuff about the seeds is

  • never a green pepper...but your jalapeno is green!

  • Thank you so much for sharing this great recipe. Loved the video! I have the same Excaliber and just picked up a ton of kale yesterday for this very thing. Yours look sooooo good! thanks again.

  • you guys are so charming and concise - thanx!!!!!!!

  • amazing!!! Great video, great recipe, I love how you cut the un-necessary parts and made the video brief.

    I'm definitely making these.. Thanks!!

  • OMG, These chips were the B-O-M-B!! This was my first effort at Kale Chips and sooo very delish. I have even made a few raw converts. Quite an endorcement for your recipe. Thank you for sharing.

  • i tried to make kale chips and they were awful bitter i must be doing something wrong so i tried again and it was awful to not sure what i did wrong

  • I use very coarse sea salt from health store :) It even has a couple of tiny peices of shell in the mix cus it is so unrefined :D Thanks for the helpfull video :)

  • Well, it's all in my dehydrator!!! I can't wait to taste them tomorrow morning!!! Thanks for the recipe!

  • «Ive been soaking my nuts too» LOL! Great recipe!

Im pregnant and craving health food!

  • Great recipe. Green jalapeños are unripe. Use Red Fresnos chiles instead.

  • Thanks for this great happy approach to raw

  • This recipe looks wonderful and this motivates me to bring my dehydrator back out of storage! Thank you for sharing this.

  • Loved this vid!
