lol this cracks me up. he looks like he's thinking boredboredboredboredboredbored... and then little guy with the glasses is like hey, look at me, i'm on tv!
Leonard Nimoy hates the "Blooper Reel" and now you know why. This scene is obviously NOT working and Mr. Nimoy really is not into his character. His brow isn't knitted into that deep look of concentration that he usually has as Spock and he's kind of lost his focus. He may also be listening to direction.
An actor needs to have the freedom to fail if need be or even to have an off day without fear that his mistakes will be made public.
I guess that's kind of a pipe dream in today's digital world.
@ConstantTweeter True, in fact, for me, the best bloopers from Star Trek are not when actors screw up, but when the doors don't work. Those shots are gold!
@ConstantTweeter Don't forget, this shot is a type of master shot. They get his reactions to what everyone's saying and doing, then they film the others saying and doing what he was reacting to. They film that long so that they can have the option of cutting back to him for a reaction shot.
Spock is thinking, what is Bat Girl doing here? And she's green; wait a minute she's kinda hot! The next thing you'll know the Riddler will be showing up in an episode. I wonder if he could get me Adam West's autograph?
@Starryvideos: It has been awhile since you posted this question, so if I'm too late forgive me. Yvonne Craig played 'Marta' in the "Whom the Gods Destroy" episode. And also starred as 'Batgirl' in the "Batman" series with Adam West.
'Gem' in the episode "The Empath" was played by Kathyrn Hays. Who spent many years on the soap opera "As the World Turns". Which just ending it's 54 year run 9-17-2010.
don't kill me but i think someone has copied the guy at 0:53 into this footage. looks a bit faked. spock throws a shadow on the guy right behind him (lightsource #1) and also on his shoulder (lightsource #2). so when spock throws a shadow on this guy back him, why doesn't the guy in the front throws a shadow on spock???hmm.... think about it
@samplesmasher you probably won't even see this, but if you run seconds 50 - 55 enough, you can catch the slightest shadow from the guy on spock's chest. Bear in mind that it's one second long since the guy moves closer to the camera, but by considering the light angle, it's easy to see why he doesn't seem to have a shadow. the angel is more left to right than it is front to back and front guy is too far up front.
agreed. Also I learned that the execs realized what a mistake they made but all of the sets had already been torn down and demolished and becasue it was the highest budget tv they said no. I saw a picture of the bald alien girl from the motion picture in a tos uniform..Wouldnt the movie have been cooler if they kept the tos uniforms? ah whatever all I know is I hate every thing about the remake.
I hate the new movie too except its main theme music and Nimoy as Spock although it's sad to see him so lonely without a ship and without the rest of the Magnificent Seven
I would have prefered a season 4 instead of the poorly made animated series which encorpourated season 4 what would have been stories. Also yes I back that up with I would have prefered season 4 .
Although star trek IV is my altime favorite! It may have been different I would take that chance with a season 4 maybe even a 5!
Did any of you know that they were developing season 4 without nimoy!!!! and the same attire was ready..... ok maybe as it was was best. I take it back.
There were also several more season 3 episodes that they did not produce, one of which was to be William Shattner's directorial debut. At any rate, yes it is a commonly held belief that the position of tv network executive attracts some of the biggest morons in the world!
There was a Star Trek Phase II for the TOS unfortunately Lenard Nemoy didn't want to wear the ears again so he wasn't in it. (It's true) so they put a different person in
@partymanDaniel I don't think the animated series was poorly done all. I found them to be quite interesting, and more of them well written (for an animated series that is). :)
"they" are stupid dumbasses . after saying no to a season 4 they decided to give a go adn chance thier minds for a yes to a season 4 after the sets were already demolished! then they said "oh its too expensive to rebuild them now sorry" fucking morons
It looks as if this was an extended reaction shot, meant to be cut into shorter bits and edited together with footage of other characters speaking. Since Spock has no dialogue here, they wouldn't have been recording sound.
OMG! where did you find this footage? thats awesome! Do you have the lost scenes from Operation-Annhilate between Kirk and his nephew Peter and the rec room scene from Elaan of Troyous when Spock plays his lute? Thanks!
A minute-long Spock reaction scene! They should have left it in...half the fan girls would be squealing and drooling and declaring undying love. *proceeds to do just that*
Spock is checking that green babe out!
