  • ...some Muslims consider stoning a punishment for adultery is because of those one or two traditions. But if they read them they'll see that in both cases the Prophet did not want to give the punishment. In one case he purposely ignored the man who wanted to be punished, twice. In second case when told that the woman tried to run but people went after her, he said they should have let her go, that it was enough she was remorseful. Muslims know he would not say that about a punishment from God.

  • Stoning for anything is not part of Islamic Shariah. It was only prescribed in one or two cases for people who came seeking punishment for themselves, asking for it, and by that time Islamic punishment for adultery hadn't been established and the rule was to follow the Torah in absence of an Islamic injunction as the Torah was considered the last Law before Islam.

  • These are jst ignorant people and they are misrepresenting Islam and shariah. There is no where dat Sharia stipulates the stoning of women that not well dressed neithr does it promotes arbitrary chopping of d hands of people. They shuld go and enlighten themselves

  • i gave you a plus sign there, my friend, but i ask you (media manipulation of the image of islam aside) where are the moderate islamic states? aren't they sort of digging their own graves, or shooting themselves in the foot? if they want respect, why do they allow extremism in their midst?
