@Billabongs122988 my 3 and a half month old gsd his sire is sable is tad bit lighter than the german shepherd in the video and his dam is a traditional and all of his brothers and sisters including him are all sable my puppy being the darkest

she is beautiful,i also have a 7months old gsd male.his ears were erect but he did some constant itching in the left ear and it won't stand up now but the vet said he will pick it up in 2 to 3 months.

@sabel123 Type in Czech German Shepherd Zeva Grace in the search box on here, she is another beautiful Black Sable female German Shepherd. You are right not many of these sables are seen in the US, but that is mainly because the bloodlines that they come from the East German/Czech lines are mainly used by the Police, Militiary and Search and Rescue groups

sable basically means that a hair strand has bands of different colors on it. normally is lighter brown by the base of the hair and dark brown to black near the tip of the hair. and all sables colors change until about 3 years of age. i have a silver sable and his coat has changed a couple times and hes only 5 months. also shepherd shed 365 days a year so b ready for it if ur looking to get one.

The Breeder that she got her dog from, I believe is out of business and stopped breeding German Shepherds. But I would suggest Alpine K9's, google Alpine K9's to find their site. The owner Hans is from the Czech Republic and he cares deeply about his dogs. He can even get a puppy directly from the Czech Republic

I have a 12 week old female pup. She's light colored but i'm pretty certain she's a sable girl. Guess time will tell. I LOVE the darker coloring on your girl. She's a beauty. Sable is when a dog has hairs which are 2 different colour right???

my gsd is therefore sable he has blonde hair on his body, but it appears dark because he has black tips. Or is Sable just her name?

5 stars! She is so beautiful. It's crazy how much a GSD coat changes. Kaine's coat is still changing color. When he was really small, he looked like he was wearing a little black jump suit;)!

Yes she is a black sable, a very unique coloring. but a really thick under coat that sheds alot.

hi, my brother has a sable german shepherd puppy that he said it was dark sable. the puppy is 9 months now and he don't look dark anymore. my brother thinks that it will change to black again as he grows older. are sable german shepherds like that or does he not have a black sable.

@j0hnxjxrambo i have a deep dark rich red sable Gsd (which is exactly like a black sable with a slight brownish tint in the sun ) and they change colours until 3 years of age so your brother's dog has time :P at least that's what happend to mine and that's what i've read :P they tend to get a darker and richer coat with time (and mine swims in a clorine pool so i bet it would show even more with your brother's dog)
