Well you've certainly outdone yourself this time, 'Clyde'... Shogam is amazing and beautifully done with all the great themes, wonderful music, and brilliant humor that I remember from you. Well, old friend... I've made countless attempts to contact you, but to no avail... Perhaps this time it will be different? Or perhaps I'll just keep chasing shadows.
Pretty damn good. I think it would have helped even more though to set those street and field scenes apart from each other, since the first was supposed to be in the past (I think) and the other in the present. Adding a visual effect to make it look old might work, or shooting it on film with some outdated stock would be perfect for this kind of project. And the sound effects are simple enough to be added later.
Still, that was an awesome use of video game text and the room scene was done very well. Not at all confusing, and that's a good way to start a project.
Combine Rockman, Metal Gear, samurai stuff, anime, Final Fantasy, groovy tunes, great low-budget special effects, and goofy-but-great storywriting and what do you get?
Shogam.
I so totally want to thank you for writing me directly to see this. You have bagged yourself another fan. I especially liked the fact you playfully mocked the Mega Man: Powered Up! intro. Heh heh heh...that was awesome. X3
well, this serves to be another inspiration towards independent films.
