  • The actual language they speak is creole, what happened is one person from the US went there saw 1 guy and based the movie "Cool Runnings" off that guy. Thats how we Americans learn through T.V(The more you know moment) lol

  • @cmikeg86 "That's how we Americans learn through T.V." ...and that's why we are ignorant lol. We depend on TV to teach us lol. Thank God for the internet right? lol Funny comment.

  • ALL THE A'S?

  • @TheRedRussian10 "a language is a dialect with an army and a fleet". Linguistically there's no strict line between what you call "versions" and different languages. I'm bilingual American-English and Norwegian. I understand Swedish (a Different Language from Norwegian) but not a lot of Jamaican Patwa, even though you say it's just a "version"

  • alms house doesnt mean poor house it means madness...eg: "wah kinda alms house dis yah gwan wid?" translation: what kind of madness is this? ..jst sayin

  • jamaican is not a language the language is english... just a slightly different version like we have:

American English, British English, Australian English, Jamaican English, etc....

  • whats the song in teh background

  • this is jamaican accent with english language....

this is not jamaican language...just an accent...:)

  • @DestinationMan Wrong... There are many words that do not exist in English and ways that words are used to sound and mean something totally different from the english origins. There are also some words and grammar taken from African languages as well. Also, This English that you speak of is not a pure language in it's self. It is a bastardization of other older languages such as Latin and Greek. English also takes from French and Native American. I.E. Rendezvous, reservior, raccoon, possum, ..

  • @akababysoft75 it's a dialect dude. Do you know that words "Dialect". Every country have a dialect for every state. That means the language is still base on the main language. The jamaican people speak this dialect in america mostly and of course many words is different than english but it still english. That's why they called it a dialect. It's not a language, It's a dialect. yeah i know i said its an accent my bad but this is a dialect it's still base on english and it's not jamaican language.
