I respect a lot of actors - Rishi Kapoor, Amit ji (Amitabh Bacchan) who we grew up watching his films, Sashi Kapoor, Rajesh Khanna. These were all stars who were before me. Then came Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, I was inspired by watching all their movies. So I thought I will also be like them. But I could not be anything like them. I became something totally weird and different.
I was doing theatres, and then came television, I worked in television. Then I worked in films. Now again I am doing television (=acting in TV programs), trying to go back (laughter).
No I don’t have any Godfather.. I don’t believe in mafia. (=Joke: Indian film stars are usually associated with some big shots who give them a break. SRK made a pun at the words invoking a lot of laughter.) [He owes his success to] God given Hard-work, persistence and smile.
