One question: If i had a swamp ash body guiat with a maple neck and f-board and threw in a couple of dimarzio Breed humbuckers in there...would I get Greg howe's tone or atleast close to it?
@sensational1982 One of the things Greg did to get his tone BEFORE using Cornford amps was to use an Ibanez Tube Screamer with his amps to add gain with very little distortion......he also used medium and maybe low output humbuckers...don't know if dimarzio Breed's will give you what you want for the tone on this song...but for his current tone I believe it is one of the pickups he uses.
@proteoid His incredible sense of timing and his use of contrast in his playing is very unique too. Listen to that little legatolick at 0:59... What a subtle and superb player he is!
Greg ias a very accomplished neoclassical player, although it's not his usual style. He brings a fresh sense of groove and rhythm to this genre. To summarise: fucking amazing!
love the vid.. maybe the best graphic expression for this song :)

to be fair i'd say greg could still sound like himself in most styles, simply because you can hear so many influences in his work!! go on greg!

You can always tell its Greg, I think mainly due to his unique vibrato. Very distinctive and amazing virtuoso. The best in the world today I'd say.
