Alcohol in moderation is shown to have some benefits. Coffee is now appearing to be helpful in prevent some serious afflictions, although the average LDS doesn't know that coffee or caffeine is not forbidden, it's hot beverages that are frowned upon.

As the LDS leadership goes, it's a lot easier to be on the receiving end of the tithing thing.

In the last decades they have increased the font size of "Jesus Christ" i the title,, so that it appears for times larger than the rest of the text. They have a great PR department (like most businesses), but they lack substance.

They are trying to fit into mainstream Christianity but until they renounce heretical doctrine, it isn't going to happen.

i am very aware of all the changes to the BoM. Just shy of 4000 I believe. They LDS claim that they are just grammatical corrections. If it is the most correct book on earth as Joey bragged, why has it had so many revisions, and being that it is directly translated by the power of the Mormon boogeyman, I would have thought , the heavenly father would have had a better command of English, along with some knowledge of the flora and fauna in NA 2000 years ago. Go figure.

Not only that, but we find the Nephites speaking with Elizabethan English, a region-specific dialect that wouldn't evolve for thousands of years. That's the only explanation since we know that Smith didn't use his own laguage in his 'translation' whatsoever.
