I first saw this movie when I was 8. My mom rented it. I had already seen the sequel, but I thought the original was better, and I remembered enjoying this song even though I didn't see it again until I was 12 and taken away to a childrens' home where they had the video. Disagree. If you haven't seen the rest of the movie, it is discovered that Derek only begins to like Oddette for her beauty, which shows in this song too. Derek isn't nice to Oddette until the adult stage when he suddenly realizes how beautiful she is. Oddette, on the other hand, wants to play sword fights, hang out in the tree house, play dress up and cards ect... despite how much Derek does not want to spend time with her. Once Derek actually acknowledges her, she is overjoyed.
