yes you can run on native res, but quicktime can't record at resolutions above 2048 so I have been running at the 1920 setting so I can make recordings. I will change on the fly without restarting the sim so it's no big deal. Maxing out everything will slow you down particularly in heavy object areas, but the visibility will just come down and I have it set for 32 FPS min.
Try the Black Canyon in Gunnison,Colorado. It's even more challenging and fun.
