@LoyalCaptains Sorry, Bud, it's not Steve and it's not Gary Scruggs singing either. His name is Tim O'Brien, a friend of Steve's. Gary helped with the lyrics, so he gets credit as co-writer. Gary's dad Earl is the one playing the three-finger banjo part. How apropo for Gary to help write a song entitled, "Daddy Played the Banjo."
Sorry. Lyrics are off. He may be able to pick but he can't sing. Don't give up your day job Steve. If you wanna be a bluegrass musician you have to be born in the South. Period.
Hey can someonev tell me where I can get a banjo for under 500 dollars? I really want one and i want it to produce good sound. If anyone can tell me I would appreciate it :)
@boomhauerfan1 guitar center sells really good banjos. i just bought a Mitchell MBJ200 Deluxe 5-String Banjo. i ran me about 330 with insurance. because it was the display model. but it would normally run ya about 370 with insurance. Mitchell is a great company with Blue Ridge Mountain roots i love the tone, weight, and style of this banjo.
Your best bet is to find a banjo that produces a great sound but is in a reasonable price range. Also, you would need to find a good case which does not have to be from the same company as the banjo itself, and you would also need someone to show you chords and basic techniques. After that, the oyster opens, and you will be able to experiment with other stuff :)
@staone1 im million miles away from US and rather than finding a mass produced banjo i decided to custom built one in a luthier close to my house... theres a lot of tutorials in youtube... you may find it easy to play...
a very powerful feel and conection i had to this song. i could feel my heart play along to the tune. great song, i wish all could apprieciate the banjo as i do so
I love the banjoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo it rocks man, can imake a film steve and his BAnjoooo
