Sweet, I loved the F15 at this show. My cousin was telling me that these are the weaker engines and only have half the after burner stages as the engines they use in combat. This plane also had a Vmax switch in it but im not sure if it was hooked up...
I still think the F15 is a lot more practical for ground support than the F16 but still the A10 takes the ground support trophy.
@SiliconBlake hell yeah the strike eagle getsdown im excited to go see it next week, seen it last year and it was great.but how does the strike eagle compare to the thunderbirds in noise level, whats louder?never seen em at the same show, so cant compare.
@oTECHNETIUMo The Thunderbird F-16 were a whole different sound. I would describe them as smoother. They even seemed to fly smoother and maneuver crisper. This made the F-15 look all the more big, audacious, and rumbling loud. Of course, he had his after-burners on for about half the show :-) The F-15 in the sky doing low manuevers really makes one realize what a large and daunting bird it is. While the F-16s were like a BMW, the F-15 was more like a 427 Corvette.
I'm curious if there's any different flight performance characteristics between the PW-220/9 and what the F-15K/SG have installed, the GE-129?
I'd love to see the GE-132 (or improved variant) installed though, perhaps even with a 2-D TVC nozzle given the more 'Multi-role' air-superiority capability this aircraft is now being tasked with, away from it's more specialized original configuration. Maybe it's even worthwile to develop a lower-profile, Air-defense specialized CFT too...
i was there about half way through it did a 150 foot lopass over the car parkinglot and it went right over my head gunning it with its afterburners THE WASSOOOO AWSOME!!!
At 0:33 I had my headphones on.

Good video, but I think the sound is too much muted or filtered :)
