  • SNES Super International Cricket Music goes lovely with this

  • CRACK

  • Seems to me the only time I have seen Richards move back and across as his first movement - not on to the front foot. Very interesting.

  • This is magnificent. One of the best cricket video. Westindies cricket at its best and i cannot stop watching other videos of WI team.

  • That catch at 3:55 should have a post all by itself. I've never seen a triple richoche catch in cricket, off the leg includd

  • wayne Daniel was built like a brick shit house and twice as nasty. He was probably the fastest of the lot but was raw and only 21. However 'cause the West Indies had a glut of pacemen he struggled to make the regular team. Bet they wished they had someone like him today.

  • I know every other bastard has said it, and if I have already, sorry (bit pissed at the mo'), but you're a fucking legend for posting these Rob. Since I was born in 1980, this stuff is pure gold.

  • @mcnesta80 You are fucking welcome mate!!!!!! ENJOY!!!!!!!!

  • how quick was Daniel! you can't actually see the ball!

  • Holding's action is the very acme of fast bowling as high art....glides like a middle distance runner, beautiful delivery stride, dead arrow-straight trajectory....just made in heaven!

  • who is the bowler at 0:29 ?

  • @ba2b48

The bowler at 0.29 is the legendary Lennie Pascoe !

  • Brilliant! Do you have any footage of Sylvester Clarke? He only played a few tests i believe, but what a frightening bowler!!

  • This is awesome stuff. Pure gold. Some surprisingly empty stadiums though given the quality of the cricketers on view

  • Thanks Rob. This is priceless!

  • Dontcha just love Gordon Cuthbert Greenidge? Great stuff Rob! Got any Sylvester Clarke knocking round?

  • @noffty1209 bugger, got it the wrong way round

  • @noffty1209 Should have!

  • @robelinda2 Clark - I remember reading Sobers say that he felt that Clark was faster and more physically dangerous than Marshall was.. Sobers played a charity match with him in the team and he said that the very first ball came out of his hand like a bullet, exploding off a length

  • @AIMANALI Without any doubt Clarke was faster.....and meaner!

  • @robelinda2 what about Rowe - on his day how was he.?...as great as some say or just good against less than express pace bowlers ?

  • @AIMANALI I just havent seen enough of him to be honest!

  • @AIMANALI I think Steve Waugh said in his autobiography that the nastiest spell he ever faced was from Clarke. I remember a discussion during a spell of rain on test match special, with Jonathan Agnew saying that Clarke was by far the most feared bowler on the county circuit in the 1980s - much more than Marshall, Garner, Patterson, Walsh etc.

  • @jstreete yeah and I have not seen much footage of him. Rob maybe you have some ...

  • @AIMANALI Can you believe that one match in 1982 World Series West Indies v Australia, Clive Lloyd played 5 of them all together in the same match Roberts, Holding, Garner, Marshall and Clarke. I know Robelinda has that game would love to own my copy of the whole match ball by ball.

  • @TheLuvrat WHAT Rob has that match ? That is it - I am going to Australia to pay him a visit...lol.

Rob expect a knock on your door in a few.....

...hope Rob posts that - that must be some attack. You are right ball to ball is the thing - that is what gives you the feeling of being present - watching it live !

  • @Kbillyssupersounds87 He was relegated to the fifth bowler and was passed over often in favour of Roberts, Holding, Garner and Croft (later, Marshall) who were all more skillful than him. Daniel would tend to get wayward. and rely more on speed than anything else.

@robelinda2 - you are the best thing to happen to youtube in a long long time. I salute thee!

  • 4:46 who is that batsmen, Ian Chapell ?

  • @AIMANALI Nah not Ian, looks like Ian Davis or Ross Edwards.

  • @robelinda2 oh yeah ...also look how smooth Lillees action is - this was even before the 77 centenary test right. Nice. the delivery on 3.34 i suppose was one of his change of pace , made him seem 100 mph - lol

  • @AIMANALI Centenary Test was in March 1977, WSC didnt start until October/November 1977.

  • @robelinda2 oh actually yeah - it was right after that. my bad.

  • @AIMANALI Plus there was the 1977 Ashes tour as well before WSC, that was all a disaster. Bad year for aussie cricket!

  • One of my top 5 vids on Youtube OF ALL TIMES. thx to the one and only ROB

  • Oh man Rob. You know what I am going to say....GREAT AND THX....wow. Ideally I would like to see ball to ball but I really understand if you can not post them from that season. 2 things: I still think all these matches are some place. these matches were not shown to the world and in time can be a collectors item and that means money - so I they are some place, 2 The 2nd season in the W.I I am sure is also out there. Whenever you can, I like to see more Holding wickets & ViV from that season.

  • What ground is it looks like a huge Ground

  • @ixale66 The three in that video I can identify are Waverley (VFL Park/AFL Park), Football Park (AAMI Stadium) and the Sydney Showground. There's probably Gloucester Park in the there too, the trotting track you may see during WACA matches on TV.

  • Great upload there mate. Also is that John Laws doing the narration?

  • This is probably in your top 5 uploads. This type of WSC is very rare, great viewing. Maybe consider uploading the whole doco to megaupload or some other hosting site, would be great viewing.

  • Rob..u r doing an amazing job bringing these rare footages which we cant even think of seeing..heard that Viv, Lillee, windies pace quartlet, were outstanding during WSC..heard Greg chappell scored a massive 240 odd in one of these matches...all of us wud like to see more of WSC 77-79 footages..

  • Oh!So mighty they were!They had,as my brother would joke,Greatness inscribed on their Head!:D

Wish,I had watched those greats in Live action.

  • Robel can't thank you enough for this

  • I never thought I'd ever see these games. Thanks so much for putting all this stuff on.

Do you have any footage of my all-time favourite Sylvester Clarke? I lived and worked in London and ended up spending too many afternoons down at Kennington Oval watching Sylvester scaring the bejaysus out of so many batsmen

  • Awesome man super thumbs up

  • Awesome footage, Rob. Thank you. Strange how few people were in the stands.

  • @dickshotoff Basically they dont have the matches in their archive anymore, so i hear. But still, you'd think they could release some mega doco on dvd with heaps of footage they do have. Or they can borrow the footage from me.....

  • @robelinda2 Borrow it from you?How is that you've a footage of WSC,when even Channel 9 doesn't have it now?

  • @sganeshkumar1989 I taped a lot of matches......ch 9 seems to only keep highlights too of matches....

  • amazing stuff ! And can't say this enough times - the quality of your uploads are just brilliant !!!!

  • @mkabhijit2 You are welcome!

  • Let's worship at the altar of Rob.....what treasures are you unearthing my friend.....smokin joe is really incomparable!

  • @Voltairec Pretty cool isnt it! Its part of a 3 hour WSC special......

  • @robelinda2

3 hr spl...cannot believe my luck....it's criminal that WSC games have not been accorded even 1st class status after all these years....the competition seemed intense and lineups were made in heaven(batsmen) and HELL(bowlers)....I guess Pascoe gets short shrift when talkin abt fast bowlers...boy he seems terrifyingly quick!

  • @robelinda2 super upload thanks legends indeed!!!
