  • Also, My Grand Prix can pull 90 mph in second gear... So something is fucked up with it as well.

  • @Rexlyification Speed in a certain gear has to with transmission gearing. With a supercharger, you'll usually run a little bit taller gears to hold high boost longer. Now that I have 4.10's I can only do like 70 in second, but the mechanical advantage is much greater. Sounds to me like your just another kid that has no clue what you are talking about.

  • This is about as quick a takeoff as my Grand Prix Gtp four-door. Which isn't saying much considering I spent half as much on my "Family-sedan" As you did on this wanked-up trash. Put some work into your car, tune it, maybe different headers? THEN post a video. Until then, it's on par with a family car.

  • @Rexlyification That's strange?! I've never had a problem beating a GTP before... not even modded ones. Yeah a 60K mile LS1 is SO "wanked up". Too bad its still worth twice what your GTP is. BTW, if you knew anything about fast cars, you'd know that full bolt ons includes headers, exhaust, and a tune. I'd also like to see you hold a camera, shift, and drive all at the same time. Post a video of your beloved GTP too while you're at it if its so great. Don't talk shit without proof. Just sayin...

  • 0 to 150 in 15 seconds trans am 427 in car

  • pretty quick t/a i got a 01 t/a ws6 and my tempter gage stay's at 210 degre's is that normal

  • @seancboy21 yes, because 98 was the only year LS1 that had a working temp gauge. After that, they became dummy gauges that only show an overheating condition. So if the temp is 210 or lower,,, the needle will sit there.

  • Anyone saying this is slow drives a Prius. Full bolt on ls1 cars outrun a lot of full bolt on cars

  • /watch?v=-QmiEYSHQAk same year

  • ''0 to 150 in 15 seconds Trans Am 427 in car ' Copy & Search That If You Wanna See Real Power!!!

  • nice shifting

  • great shifting

  • My G8 will outrun you lol j/k badass t/a man and its badass how you know it so well

  • To continue, should shift at 6-6.1k with oem internals. And with 4.10s, youd need a lot of hp to pull past 162 in 6th. It'll pull but the time the car would be in the red.. very unsafe. Valve floating among other things could happen. And the 01-02's don't run like a bolt on 98-00. Not THAT much of a difference. 01/2 had the ls6 intake, head gaskets were a different material, and actually had a smaller cam for low end tq. the 98s had a weird pcm but other than that, 01/2 were 10-15hp more

  • @AntFragale 4.10 gears will not put you even close to the redline at 165 mph. Do the math. You will turn about 4600 rpm in 6th with 4.10s at 160 (w/6 speed). That's about at my torque peak, so it should pull right there, and it does. Heads vary in stock form too. Stock '98 806 heads flow a little worse than the later heads. They just do for some reason. 241's supposedly had a better casting design so the heads were more consistent and the ports were a little more cleaned up than earlier heads.

  • do you have 3.73's on the car? Reason im asking is because at 6000 rpm on previous my 02 trans am 2nd gear went up to exactly 70, but yours winds out before that speed for some reason...

  • @napalm84 My car had 3.42 gears when I made this video. It now has 4.10's. I do know that my car's tach is off a little. On my HPTuners, it shows up being something like 200 rpm high when I datalogged. My car is pretty much done making power at about 5800 RPM, so it wouldn't matter shifting it at 6,000 RPM by my gauge. My car is not built to be fast as much as it is to handle well and run good around road courses.

  • @94Zpilot Lotta debating in this video lol. I got an '02 with 4.10s and some other stuff as well. So I'll start off by saying nice car, I love these. Notes though, just because your powerband stops the arch @5800 doens't mean revvnig higher doesn't benefit, that's very incorrect actually. The torque will fall but as long as hp rises or stays consistent, you need to keep pushing until it drops (pending your engines limits). Hp=(TQ*rpm)/5252 With stock internals (rods/lifters/rockers, etc)

  • @AntFragale I'm an engineer. I know what HP is. Its simply a function of torque. My car peaks horsepower at about 5500-5600 and falls off sharply after 5800 (hence, why I said its done making power at 5800 rpm). I think peak torque was around 4800 rpm. There is no need to spin her any higher if she is running out of breath. My car runs the best times at the track shifting like this too. I tried going to 6000 and it was about .2 slower every pass.

  • @napalm84

i got stock gearing in my maro, its a g80 rear with posi, and at 6k I am at 62 mph. what is stock gearing

  • the heads are different but the cam profile is less agressive because the car doesnt have an air or egr system.

there is pretty much NO DIFFERENCE in motors, the lower box is about an inch taller but the PCM and powertrain are the same. only difference is slightly different swaybar (28mm-32mm) and shock dampening. thats pretty much it. WS6 is mostly an appearance package, the biggest advantage is with the ladies... they love the hood... haha

  • damn that sounds mean. nice car man

  • dudeno way thats a full bolt ons ws6 manual transmission its very sloow dude i dont mean anything i am a trans am lover but watch my accleration vid and put a stop watch my car is 2002 auto convertible with onllllllyyyyy flowmaster cat-back u will know what i mean plz check ur car

  • @VERGILANDSEPHIROTH 01-02 cars are quicker than 98-00 cars because they have a better heads on them. The cam is slightly smaller in 01-02, but the cars made more power. Your video start at 1:09 and reach 110 at 1:23. I am at 25 at :24 and 110 at :38. Both took about :14. M6 cars have a gearing disadvantage to 3.23 auto cars. I can pull up ratios of the gears vs the rear end ratio and you still have an advantage, not even mentioning that an auto shifts better than most manual drivers can.

  • well dude this my first time i hear this info but it should be like this cuz i saw lots and lots of acclerations and it was all slow..i am thinking of putting volant intake and programme and i think i am gonna rock it and is the auto stronger than the manual?cuz i am thinking of changing my gear to manual i dunno

  • @VERGILANDSEPHIROTH The manual is MUCH stronger than the stock automatics. The stock T56 has backed several 500+ HP/FT LB setups without many issues. The whole 01-02 package (heads/cam/intake) is simply better than 98-00 cars from the factory. Your car has an LS6 intake from the factory. That is a 15 HP bolt on on my car. I can also guarantee that your car will slow down a little bit with a manual too because you will have more time between your shifts and they will be less consistent.

  • ur about the intake but thats dffrnt between a regular trans am and i ws6 not a ws6 and a ws6 and if the cam and heads ar drffnt it must put more than 325 cuz all ws6's are 325 hp ,,, trans ams are wierd

  • and by the waymy car does exactly from 25 to 110 ,,,12 second and ur car do it in 14 my vid start at 1:10 and a half and i stopped exactly at 1:22 and a half that means my ws6 is faster and i still cant blv it ur car is FULL BOLT ONS :(:(:( no way the heads will do thats difference

  • @VERGILANDSEPHIROTH You actually never got to 110. You back out just past 105 at 1:23. Look, I guarantee your car runs low 13s. I have about 15 time slips that all show my car going 13.1's at 107 mph on street tires. It's not slow for a 98-00 car. This video was before I got a few other things. I now have an LS6 intake, ported TB, and gears. It cuts 12's now. I'll say, your car is fast box stock. 01-02 cars run like bolt on 98-00 cars when stock. Its amazing what the better heads do...

  • @94Zpilot its not the heads, its the intake manifold. but yeah.

  • @pepene93 its the heads too, 241 heads on the 01-02 flow better than the heads on the 98-00. Believe it.

  • i dont know that was 60 in less than 5 secs. 100 in 11 secs

  • nice car bro im glad to finaly see a trans am seriously gittin it and not just the speedo with the car in the air

  • that is a ll a trans am will do 120

  • @tyshun97 Wow! Actually I have had it to 162 and with the new gears it keeps pulling in 6th. Let me guess, you have a Mustang and think you are baddest shit ever rolling up to your high school revving your 40's at everyone, you drive a total POS that you think is awesome, or you don't even have a car because you are not even 16 yet. You obviously know nothing about cars, but you really think you do. Maybe you should actually do a little research and think before your dumbass comments. Grow up

  • @94Zpilot Very well put !

  • @94Zpilot Oh come now not everyone with a mustang is a 16yo kid ;). Very nice car btw makes me miss my t/a.

  • @tyshun97 Haha an LS only doing 120? Hahahah go back to your American made ricer Mustang

  • Is ls1 good on gas?

  • @drpe i get bout 18 city 23 highway. mine is completely stock though. just exhaust.

  • nice vid, but its not a real good idea to run the car like that until its at operating temp.. not good for the valvetrain

  • 98 is the only year that temp gauges actually worked right. 99-02 are just dummy gauges that go to 210 when the car hits 160 degrees. My car has a 160 t-stat in it so it runs about 175-180.

  • Oh alrite, Nice to see your knowledgeable. And yeah i know about the temp gauges, i have the dummy one in my 2000. So i just judge by oil press. I keep it under 2.5ish when its cold cause of the stiffer valvesprings. Nice car man, didnt wanna come off sounding like an ass.

  • @94Zpilot umm my 2002 worked fine. I had a radiator leak and it climbed instantly.

  • @hercules71185 yeah, they climb after they hit 240 degrees and they slowly peg to let you know there is an issue.

  • @94Zpilot Lol your shitting me? You sure? Mine seems to work fine, CLimbs up to 209 after 10 mins or more.

Nice run btw, thats a whole lot faster, Mid 12s??

  • @MarshallTK Not shitting you at all. My car never passes 180 or so because thats what the motor is actually running. Search it on LS1tech or something, but yeah, 99-02 are nothing but a dummy that is on a timer. It's all computer controlled rather than 98 being directly to the gauge.

And on street tires, car runs low 13's and on better tires I ran a 12.72@109. It runs pretty good. Car now has true duals on it. They REALLY opened it up. Haven't been to the track yet with the new setup.

  • @94Zpilot Wow, interesting, any fixes for that problem you know of? Ill look into forums as well.

Wow great runs, breaking 12s is always fun. Interesting you run low 13s with bolt ons? Mine Ran a 13.1 @ 105, pure stock and ive even seen a 13.0 @ 106.

  • it is on the operating temp....on my ta the needle will stay at that temp and i could be driving it for hours
