Are you kidding, $30,000 could probably build them a hospital, a school, and feed the village for years.
@DCassidy42 Essentially, it's its local government's responsibility, not the photographer's. Why don't you sell your computer and buy the kids over there some food or books?
@YukariUmezawa I actually have made several donations and volunteered in a health promotion and education program in Malawi. I agree it is the governments responsibility, however many govnt officials in African countries are corrupt and don't look out for the greater good. It could also be argued that European colonization is partly responsible for the poor socio-economic and political situation in some African nations.
What we really need is a modern Nikon or Canon with all their recognised pro features and combine that with the lens quality and kodak sensor used on the S2......oh and maybe a few decent zoom lens would help!....THEN we would have a REAL 20k camera!..not this overpriced basic imposter!
