After I watched "The Matthew Shepard Story" some weeks later, I promised that this senceless murder would not be in vain! Why there's so much hate? Why it seems that people don't want to stop all this hate, so our childrens children will be able to live without crime, hate, violence, fear, ignorance & misunderstanding? Remember 10-07-1998... The day Matthew Sheppard was beat and tied to a fence to die. His eyes slowly closing as he looked towards Laramie Wy. from a fence he was tied too. How many Aaron McKinney and Russell Henderson are still around? I can't believe George W. Bush vetoed the Matthew Shepherd Act. In Wyoming, hate crime legislation still does not apply to sexual orientation. Hate crimes should never be tolerated.

I gave up on the idea that the idea that the world was just and fair a long time ago. The only way to achieve social justice and tolerance towards minorities (including homosexuals) is to fight for it. Its not going to happen magically by itself.

Sheppard wasn't really killed because he was gay, he was robbed because he was an easy target.

Sheppard was a rich kid in a poor area. He went to a bar accepted a ride from two guys. They beat him up and tied him to a fence. They did not kill him, but he died from his injuries. They stole his wallet and shoes, and intended to rob his house.
