All this bullcrap is very easy to remove. The pro and challenging rouge antivirus, such as Antivirus System Pro Doesn't let a single item load accept itself. Not even task manager, NOTHING.

You helped what, 20,000 people infected with this rogue malware waste their time and give them a false sense of security. Meanwhile their PC is getting infected like hell due to the freaking trojans that get installed along with AV 2008/2009/XP/whatever.
What I usually do is: Go to the processes and disable what I don't know or recognize, Then I find those "Obvious" folders I don't know and delete them, Restart my computer, And I notice how I fucked up the virus in my computer, but not able to completely get rid of it.

My task manager dosn't have the other tabs any more. ever since i got the virus... and it keeps switching progams every 5 secs (pretty much an automated alt + tab).
If you make a vid in Windows Movie Maker, just make all the slides title slides - then it automatically turns the background blue. You can also modify it to any colour you want, and change the font.
You can do it the same way. I followed this tut for the Advanced Antivirus which is also a killer. Luckily I have Perfect Uninstaller on my laptop which means I can also get rid of trace files, which this method doesn't do. Yes, I'm a geek...

You probably still have trace files left on your computer. There's no sure-fire way to get rid of them for free, but I recommend something like Perfect Uninstaller. I never use a program's uninstall now, I always use this, as it gets rid of all trace files. You can force an uninstall if something is beng really painful like this 'antivirus'. Just to give you an example, when I force uninstalled AAV, I found 24 trace files that were still haunting my laptop.

i'm not sure that it is Antivirus. ya know the folder of it in control panel? is it titled "antivirus 2008"? If not, then what you have isn't this virus :)
This guide really helped Ive had antivirus 2008 for a week and I finally got rid of it. There are just two differences it was in a folder named Sav and it did go away by deleting the file.
Here's a suggestion for people who don't have this virus labeled as "antivirus xp 2008." Chances are that it has left a shortcut on your desktop saying "antivirus xp 2008." Just hold your cursor over the shortcut, but don't click it. This will reveal the location of the file, usually something like c:/program files/"name of the virus here". From that, you can go into task manager and processes, stop the process named after the folder in your C drive, and proceed as the video directs.

ok, you can still try looking in Task Manager's 'Processes tab' and look for the file antivrs.exe. Also you could try searching for the Antivirus2008 folder by opening Start>Search. hope i helped :)

To find the name of it go on your desktop and delete the shortcut it created and it will show you the name that it is under. They don't use the real name so it is more difficult to find it.
ok, what i'd suggest is that you search for your antivirus2008 folder in your computer's search system, Start>Search> then search for antivirus 2008 in all files and folders. hope that this helps :)

this dose not completely remove it as these viruses install onto your registry and can reinstall themselves

hmmmm, I suppose you could search for it on your computer's own search system
Start> search> All files and folders> Type in 'Local Disk' and under "Look In" select My Computer from the drop-down menu.

i got the AintVirus 2009 virus, I didn't let it into IE, Firefox, or Safari.

If You dont have a "AntiVirus 2008 Folder look for a WAV Folder and if you cant find Antivrs.exe under the taskbar look for WAV.exe Just incase :)

well i didnt see it before in my control panel only after something happened and it has the sheild icon and it is called MS AV do u think it is Antiviru2008?

i'm not sure that it is Antivirus. ya know the folder of it in control panel? is it titled "antivirus 2008"? If not, then what you have isn't this virus :)

This guide really helped Ive had antivirus 2008 for a week and I finally got rid of it. There are just two differences it was in a folder named Sav and it did go away by deleting the file.

Here's a suggestion for people who don't have this virus labeled as "antivirus xp 2008." Chances are that it has left a shortcut on your desktop saying "antivirus xp 2008." Just hold your cursor over the shortcut, but don't click it. This will reveal the location of the file, usually something like c:/program files/"name of the virus here". From that, you can go into task manager and processes, stop the process named after the folder in your C drive, and proceed as the video directs.

ok, you can still try looking in Task Manager's 'Processes tab' and look for the file antivrs.exe. Also you could try searching for the Antivirus2008 folder by opening Start>Search. hope i helped :)

trying to help...belleafan follow directions Lena gave you except when it comes up write down the name its under..then use the instructions cutie gas on here...then go to cuties you tube posting on how to get rid of blue screen...it took me several days but i finially got it i think

To find the name of it go on your desktop and delete the shortcut it created and it will show you the name that it is under. They don't use the real name so it is more difficult to find it.

ok, what i'd suggest is that you search for your antivirus2008 folder in your computer's search system, Start>Search> then search for antivirus 2008 in all files and folders. hope that this helps :)

I had the same problem no file...but in the search i had itsearch all files for the words antivirus XP 2008 and it found it with some other name with letters and numbers try it hope you can find it...this thing about drove me crazy

my computer has this thing i didnt know it was a virus untill i tried deleting it and i couldnt. so now i'm going to try this but i have a question. is becasue i have read many comments on this and i was wondering that if i do what u said on the video does it affect other parts of the computer like the updates and all that???
