I'm not getting the game as well, b/c it wouldn't be the same for my Tekken character and I grew up on Tekken. Look I'm not attacking you or saying that Megaman Legends is great or that the polls for the most requested character for MvC3 are,all I'm telling you is what I think the fans feel. I am just responding in a logical way why the fans responded the way they did. You can buy and enjoy the game that's fine. The rest of us who feel that Capcom shafted us out of two potentially great Megaman games and was completely ignored on the request for X as a DLC for MvC3 will just not get this game.
I'm a Megaman fan and I done my reseach into this and come to the same conclusion. If Capcom would have given the fans either Megaman game that was cancelled or added X to MvC3 roster then the fans would have taken this Mega Man game with a laugh. Since we didn't get any of the above mentioned stuff then it's no surprise how things turned out.

I can understand how people feel about this. See I understand about joke characters in games. The problem is that Capcom's most recent actions with their fighting games. Then there's the fact that two Megaman games were canceled. Finally the fact that people wanted X in MvC3 and was completely ignored angered a lot of the fans. So of course when they announce that Mega Man was gonna be in this game and it turns out to be this version who wouldn't be raging about this.
Well, Legends isn't even that good, and mostly like the fact that Inafune left Capcom and some of the reception of 10 effect the development of Universe, which was cancelled. Capcom's way of saying "shut up, fanboys" was in Nova's ending and Zero's alt costume in UMvC3 felt damn appropriate. People need to stop whining and just be glad that MegaMan is back, whether or not if it's his own game or not. Capcom fanboys need to shut it and deal with it.

I actually read somewhere the original decision to include this version of Megaman was done with Keiji's permission. However, how long ago was that? And even it that was true, did they really think that this was a good time to include this version? There may have been a point where fans would have appreciated this type of humor, but now is not the time. If removing entire areas from Battle Network 6 was possible, then leaving a character out should be, too. In other words, too soon, Capcom.
What I don't understand is that Capcom said they couldn't put Mega Man in MvC3 with his own unique moveset, which is a game that's a Capcom all-star fighting game crossover MEANT to feature many characters across several of their franchises, but they CAN put him in another fighting game called Street Fighter X Tekken. It's like with Inafune gone, Capcom has no idea how to generate anything positive with Mega Man so instead, they just stir up as much negative shit as possible. DERP
Some of you may be facepalming yourselves if MegaMan ends up being a top-tier character in the fighting game tourney scene. Speaking of tourney scenes, i've never seen any videos of fighting game tourney players using MegaMan on their team in Marvel Vs. Capcom 2...it's usually Storm, Magneto, Sentinel, Psylocke. And don't give me that "not all fgp's" are tourney players. Nobody used Adon until Gamerbee used him to beat J. Wong. People wanted Strider, Phoenix Wright and they're hardly used.

That was the Mega Man as scribbled together at the last minute to provide cover art for The original game. The graphic style has homage in Mega Man 9&10's cover art. So perhaps this was Capcom's hat tip to history.

@RayconVs Have you looked at the tier list?in MvC 1 and 2 he was b/c tier (okay at best), in TvC he was the same as well. If you watch EVO videos or other big tournaments hes really on no ones team
@maxismydog101 I've seen tier lists for MvC 1 and 2. In MvC1 I saw him as an "okay at worst" character. "Okay at best" is a fair description of him in MvC2 if you ask me. I've been having a harder time finding TvC tier lists but the one or two that I saw had Volnutt pretty high. I wouldn't mind seeing the lists you're talking about though. As for Evo and tournament teams, the MvC games you can say that about pretty much all but 6-8 characters.

I'm not a megaman fan, but this is certainly that piece of shit muscle head isn't the megaman we've all seen. I'm not getting the game as well, b/c it wouldn't be the same for my Tekken character and I grew up on Tekken. If Capcom would have given the fans either Megaman game that was cancelled or added X to MvC3 roster then the fans would have taken this Mega Man game with a laugh. I can understand how people feel about this. See I understand about joke characters in games. The problem is that Capcom's most recent actions with their fighting games. Then there's the fact that two Megaman games were canceled. Finally the fact that people wanted X in MvC3 and was completely ignored angered a lot of the fans. Well, Legends isn't even that good, and mostly like the fact that Inafune left Capcom and some of the reception of 10 effect the development of Universe, which was cancelled. Capcom's way of saying "shut up, fanboys" was in Nova's ending and Zero's alt costume in UMvC3 felt damn appropriate. Instead of focusing on a new MM experience, they tried to milk the original one. This could also link to Inafune's departure. It is said that he left because Capcom wasn't giving him a challenge anymore. I'm guessing having to make 2 MM games in the original style did not help matters.

1. Actually, the original box art Megaman (from the research i've done) was skinnier, and looked more like he's supposed to.

Personally, by the way these fanbrats love to act, they deserve to see Megaman like this. Honestly, Megaman wasn't even good when 2000 hit and he got revived in 2008 with MM9. I actually read somewhere the original decision to include this version of Megaman was done with Keiji's permission. However, how long ago was that? And even it that was true, did they really think that this was a good time to include this version? There may have been a point where fans would have appreciated this type of humor, but now is not the time. If removing entire areas from Battle Network 6 was possible, then leaving a character out should be, too. In other words, too soon, Capcom.

What I don't understand is that Capcom said they couldn't put Mega Man in MvC3 with his own unique moveset, which is a game that's a Capcom all-star fighting game crossover MEANT to feature many characters across several of their franchises, but they CAN put him in another fighting game called Street Fighter X Tekken. It's like with Inafune gone, Capcom has no idea how to generate anything positive with Mega Man so instead, they just stir up as much negative shit as possible. DERP

Some of you may be facepalming yourselves if MegaMan ends up being a top-tier character in the fighting game tourney scene. Speaking of tourney scenes, i've never seen any videos of fighting game tourney players using MegaMan on their team in Marvel Vs. Capcom 2...it's usually Storm, Magneto, Sentinel, Psylocke. And don't give me that "not all fgp's" are tourney players. Nobody used Adon until Gamerbee used him to beat J. Wong. People wanted Strider, Phoenix Wright and they're hardly used.

Maybe I shouldn't have used the word "tourney," I should have used in online play or offline play away from tourneys. But how would anyone know if Megaman or Pac-Man will be good or not since most casual players copy what tourney players use?

They know that the megaman fans were bitching about him not being in a fighting game, so they decided to put him in with the box art design from the first game. I find it hilarious. Honestly, every fighting game he has been in, he was bottom tier and overall a "okay" character. Zero was in Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and he better fits the fighting game crossover. @maxismydog101 I've seen tier lists for MvC 1 and 2. In MvC1 I saw him as an "okay at worst" character. "Okay at best" is a fair description of him in MvC2 if you ask me. I've been having a harder time finding TvC tier lists but the one or two that I saw had Volnutt pretty high. I wouldn't mind seeing the lists you're talking about though. As for Evo and tournament teams, the MvC games you can say that about pretty much all but 6-8 characters.
