I agree very much about this version. Bergonzi only got better with age.

I think I had this record growing up: a record of Neapolitan standards, with "Passione" having been a real standout for me. Or did he make more than one record like this??

The one that I have is a cd from ''ensayo'' label, recorded 1972 in madrid, Orquesta de cámara de madrid conducted by enrico pessina, includes a version of passione, core'ngrato, i te vurria vasa', dicitencello, voce e notte, pecche?, na seraé´maggio, chiove, and torna a surriento.

I think it may welll have been the same one, perhaps an East European pressing :)
