  • Well played. First time I've heard Leaving Stoer played without fiddles. Sounds great.

  • Cheers - much appreciated! I love this tune but most thanks to Mark for arranging it so well for guitar.

    Steve

  • Nicely done! What a great tune

Good to see you the other day, hopefully catch up again soon

  • A fine tune, beautiful playing and a Sobell guitar to play it on.

  • Cheers mate - I appreciate your kind words. The guitar is not a Sobell, although I think a Sobell would suit this tune equally well.

  • What a fine tune and great recording !

  • Thanks! I love this tune - the first time I heard Mark play it, I was hooked.

  • Bellissimo arrangiamento !!! Really great arrangement. I met Mark virtually on the Celtic Guitar Forum and I know he is a really great DADGAD arranger.

Thanks for your beautiful rendition of this song and congrats for Jeff's guitar. I had the luck to try one in the past and playing it was like magic.

    Ciao da Milano.

  • Thanks Marco - Mark is indeed a great arranger. I'm not sure if he's on YouTube but he should be!

I've just favorited your "Bag Pipe Tunes" from Tony McManus - the first tune, "Lament for the Viscount of Dundee", is on my long list of tunes to learn; it's great.

Small world - Tony played my guitar on his album "The Makers Mark", track Sliabh Na mBan. He plays it a bit better than I do!!!

    cheers,

    Steve

  • @sobellfanatic

Wow!!! I know the tune Tony played on his cd, and it's really great he played your guitar. Did you buy it after the recording session from Paul?

Mark is on youtube and when is playing you are in the background listening :) The tune is Traveller's Tale and you can find it in his profile from the acoustic magazine forum (the one you linked)

  • Great stuff, Steve!

  • Accepted Keith - Yes great to compare versions and get this stuff about.

    Cheers,

    Steve

  • Happy to accept your request for vid response Steve. I know that my version, having been up a week or three, isn't exactly a response to yours, but how about putting it here anyway? - great comparison of different versions of a fab tune!

    Keith

  • Aha! Leaving Stoer in the Devil's Tuning ;-)

    Nice one Steve.

    Keith

  • It's singing beautifully ! Thanks !

  • @fransgreg

    Cheers pal!
