@BurbanOwl chins dnt like solid floor in their cage u need a wire base so their poo/wee falls through they dnt like walking in their dirt only time their feet can b injured is if u have d wrong cage 4 d age of ur chin ie baby chins need cages with tiny holes other wise d feet can go through d holes n when they lift their leg up if their foot gets stuck they become stressed n will chew through their leg, chins r verry cute and loveing but u need to know what your doing before getting 1

@tammyannh Wrong, you are supposed to have flat cages for chinchillas because of leg injuries and it is known to cause issues.

@ClickHereYouWont Chinchillas are jumpers by nature, so forcing them into a flat cage is actually bad for them. I have a chinchilla cage that is 4 floors high and he loves being able to jump from level to level.

Hey.

I was just wondering when i should give my chins a dust bath as 'ive been reading around and its a mix between 2-3 days a week to everyday. When i first got them i gave it them everyday for about 10 mins but their fur went too dry and squeeky then i gave it then one day missed a day then gave it them the next and so forth but the day they didnt have it they seem to scrat around rolling on the floor or something as to say i need a bath. What should i do!!??

@ClothesHairMakeUp i used to just leave the dust bath on the floor for my chin to use as he pleased, their very smart animals, you know better than anyone how often your hair needs washing just like chins know when their fur needs a clean

@xXradaradaXx baby chinchinchillas are the cutest animals on earth, BUT please don't start mating chins until you do your research first. you cannot breed certain colored chins together. certain combinations can be lethal to the baby. i can't stress this enough. also make sure you understand the how to raise the newborn safely, this can involve more responsibilities than you may think! there are a couple of good chinchilla forums to help with questions and situations, join the community! :)

@chingirl101 When chinchillas are first introduced to each other and start sharing a cage, they may act territorial and fight, so it's important to keep an eye on them during this period. It's good to have a "house" or a covered area one of them can hide in when you're not monitoring them. Once they accept each other's company they should rarely fight, if at all. My older chinchillas never fight with each other.

@ChinTubeHD i have two chins and they are together in cage (from about 3 months of age) now they are old a little more then a year and they still fight over food, so yes even older chins can fight each other, but rarely.
