  • Screw the "labels!" Just listen to the frigging music and enjoy it! If the music isn't your cup of tea then move on! It's okay. It's like the Stones said "It's only rock and roll (but I like it.)"

  • I would tend to think the drum jam would be labeled "famous" not "infamous"

  • im sitting in my college comp lab. i dont have any headphones so theres no sound for me to hear. i just watched the entire vid and it sill blew me the fuck away. god this band is something else so is this song. ive never heard something more epic.. god i cant wait to see them in october. i wish the 2nd album was better. its completely different from their 1st. but hey im glad they arent playing the same songs over again like all the other shitty bands that have no originality. Go mutemath!!!

  • Amazing, my favourite band ever

  • frickin amazinn

  • shouldn't matter what faith any member in any band is. it's about the music, not their alliances.

  • Amen brother.

  • the truth

  • Still ridiculously sick!! Esp the handstand-roll over!

  • wow the handstand on the piano was awesome

  • Darren King is a beast! I'm so happy I found out about this band!

  • The used to be christian. Regardless of what you believe, MUte Math, IS a remarkable entity. And lyrical content, explains further how they have strayed from nostic beliefs. "we all break the same"? Hmm, seems like a belief that regardless of your beliefs we all take damage the same way. Bravo Mute's.

  • There's more than one way to interpret a song. *shugs* I find it a very christian song. But whether it is or not. Sweet song. I think everyone can agree on that point.

  • i do to.

  • The whole concept of Christian Rock being a genre bothers me.

Musical genres are determined by the style of music, not the content of the lyrics. Or at least that's the way it should be.

  • Indeed.

  • Well said, bassebanbass.

  • Doesn't bother me at all.

It's an easy way of finding which bands have an agenda I'd rather avoid. I listen to music to make me better not to preach to me about the existence of God and whatnot.

Sometimes genres and labels are useful.

Re: mutemath, great band, and I don't feel any religious overtones. Wouldn't mind though. Their stuff's bloody creative.

  • Well said, bass.

  • they're classified as Alternative Rock, but you can tell by their lyrics that theyve got Christian roots, ha. And though they dont classify themselves as Christians in their music style, that doesnt change the fact that they are...lol

  • listen chaos..you think its about a girl? /:)..

  • Luv this band. They're avesome!

  • since this is a christian rock band the music is classified as... Get ready... Christian rock. Isn't that hard to believe

  • This isnt Christian rock, Paul and Darren's old band, Earthsuit, was, not Mute Math though.

  • I personally don't think there should be classifications... especially with Mute Math, there's songs that I believe are influenced by their faith, but it can still speak to everyone.

  • does it really matter ??

  • deff not christian rock, theyre trying to get out of that genre, earthsuit was, but when a new band came, the old genre stuck with them, which they do not want

  • lol christian rock? ur a tool.

  • Not Christian rock. Christians in the band...but not Christian rock. That's Earthsuit.

  • wow...great hand stand, piano stand...whatever! he's like 30 or something and holds it perfectly! geez paul meany ur so meany

  • dude, did you not watch the following few seconds or something? I love the scream from the audience when it topples over, haha

  • Yes! Thanks for posting. I was there too.

  • I was at the that show it was awesome. There the best live performance by a band I've ever heard

  • Poor Tech Guy!! Haha!! Trying To Save The Gear!!

  • aha its funny when the stage guy takes the keytar of of him

  • That syncopation at :15 is so incredible...!

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was probably the most INSANELY AWESOME performance of Break The Same that I have ever seen !!!!!!!!!!! Wow.

  • What genre is this??? Its wicked whatever it is!

  • i think they fall into experimental progressive. but i call them gods.

  • they are the future of music my friends. You have just witnessed the return of M-U-S-I-C, and the progression of sound.

  • ive heard the term new alterenative being thrown around...muse is similar to this, but mutemath is definiately better!!!

  • Idk about that they are both pretty freaking awesome... they have their own uniqueness (kinda hard to compare them cuz of that awesomeness)

  • Yea, Muse and Mute Math are definantly the best of their own genre, I also figured out today there is a version of Alternative Rock called Math Rock... :p

  • If you like mathrock check out cinemechanica theyre from my hometown and they're pretty unbelievable.

  • I was as this show...and I absolutely loved it!!!

  • Best show I've ever experienced LIVE!

  • as always...great music, great show, great band!!!

  • This brightened my day times ten...

  • AWESOME! Great performance, great filming. The audio is so clean and all and the video is just wow. Brilliant work Mute Math, and Brian.
