  • Actually it is. You can see the entire escapement rotate, which is what distinguishes a tourbillon from not.

  • Appears to be more a carousel than a true tourbillon.

  • cha-ching. bring the wallet for this one. if you have to ask you can't afford it. omega version with platinum. $250,000.00

  • Sure the brand name tourbis are pricey, but this one was under $600

  • $600 for USD ?

where can i get one ?

  • @ebrooks005 It's an ugly watch if you ask me.

I'm a big fan of the mechanized watches, but this one is junk in terms of looks.

  • @ebrooks005 I believe this looks like a Minorva skeleton flying carousel tourbillon. should be around $500 to $1000.

  • it looks like the longines lindbergh watch skeleton with a tourbillion

  • It's actually a Breguet copy with no brand name on it, which is kinda cool.

  • Yeah, right. Too bad, on can't really read the exact time on this watch :-P

  • ma non lo fa solo omega?

  • Check out this model. I thought it's also a very nice skeleton watch. You can see your skin through the watch.

    Akribos XXIV Davinci Men's

  • I have one, don't buy it, it's too big.

  • very very nice!!

  • Can anyone explain how a Tourbillion works, and none of the technical crap, just in simple terms

  • As simply as I can explain it, the tourbillon was originally invented to compensate for the effect that gravity had on the timekeeping accuracy of pocketwatches. Always being kept in the same position in ones pocket, it was noticed that gravity had an adverse effect on accuracy. The tourbillon works by rotating the escapement (the rate-keeping organ in a mechanical timepiece) one full revolution per minute, as seen in the movie, theoretically cancelling out the effect of gravity.

  • Its real, dude. The balance wheel is actually being rotated by the steel cage.

  • Never said it was. This is brandless, so how could it be a fake anything? Original manufacturer is Seagull

  • It's Elysee! tourbillon watch! 4890 euro!!!!!

  • increible,esto es un relojazo.

  • Hey, what site did you get this from? im looking for the exact same one, and i can find it, but the crown is too small... you can private message if youd like...

  • Got it from ebay from a seller in the UK who only had 2. Watches with same movement, but different case, hands, and crown can be readily had from ebay sellers in Hong Kong

  • I just got mine in. Very nice watch... but i was a bit upset that none of the other gears, gold or steel seem to move. I was hoping for something a bit more catchy... also your crown is WAAAAAYYY better than mine.

  • you can get this at Sea-Gull's us website.

  • it won't allow me to post the website address. well... it is xxx.usseagull.xxx.. you guys figure it out... lol...

  • Very true. It is about quality. Unlike some of the previous posts, I wished to stress that we shouldn't judge something base on its origin. Not all Swiss mov are good & all Chinese mov bad. In the late 1800s, the Swiss were making fake American watches, since American watches were of higher quality & value at the time. But people rarely hear about those facts. Give enough time & experience, I believe Chinese makers will also improve their standard, just like the Swiss in the past.

  • damaskeen, 1/4 of world's products are made by chinese, their hands are behind good products sold on the planet earth, but the real swiss movements can be made by any human who has the abilities to make a watch with swiss specifications and standards ;)

  • Almost all modern innovation is based on someone else's creation. This movement is the Tianjin Sea-gull ST80, Chinese watch firm since 1955, which produces 1/4 worlds mech movements. They are currently making perpetual calander, dual tourbillion, min and quarter repeaters. In this global market, how many Swiss parts are really in your ETA "Swiss" watch? How many human hands actually touched an ETA movement? It is all about marketing & perception. Google "chinese tourbillon history" for more info

  • Wow...I´m stunned, this watch is by far more beautiful than those made by the Swiss industry. If you gave the Chinese good materials and the necessary tools, they would work wonders....some Swiss timepieces are really mediocre, but they have to sell them dearly in order to make up for the high wages of their employees, yeahhh

  • well that just isnt true. first of all i think you dont know all swiss watch makers. and second: untill now they where unable to make watches. they just lacked the expertise.

  • Yes I agree, look at the Vacheron Constantin, doesn't even compare! Sorry no disrespect but its like comparing a Ferrari to a Honda. If someone lacks attention to detail then they are both just cars like these are both just watches. Still a nice time piece I'm sure I will never afford.

  • The question here is that this watch's design was probably based on one of many swiss watches existing. Thinking this was designed by the chinese it's an illusion. Even decent automatic watch brands like Perigaum have their designs based on swiss watches already existing. Even expensive brands seem to "copy" designs from each other, when they make their least expensive watches (which are too expensive anyway). I really like this one.

  • In fact, this watch is pratically a coppy from a Breguet, which is Swiss. But I'm really glad the chinese are making them, because I can't afford a real Breguet, and this one is good enough to last.

  • @DuncanLafayette Chinese are 1/5 of the world population. They are as creative as anyone. Despite the works they wonder, as you said, I think they are still working under their potentiality.

    .

The case is that western consider themselves the only ones able be ingenious and often get stunned when foreigners do something remarkable.

  • @EduardoBrasil10000 Though I mostly agree with your statement. The flying tourbillon WAS a European invention. For Asian invention's, we should look more toward Japan, with Citizen, Seiko, Casio etc. They did great work with Quartz.

  • Hopefully if the Chinese can reverse engineer good enough copies, it will bring down the price of the original swiss watches many of us are already far too indeared to, to switch.

  • Lovely watch & movement, however i doubt the accuracy would be that good, neither automatic storage of maybe of 13hr max, would love to own one tho

  • Hi,

Does anyone know where i can get this exact watch from please?

  • no i don't

do u collect watches or what??

I only got a Glashütte original tourbillon

but may u can find a watch like this on a fair or so

  • very, very beatiful watch 5*

  • Anybody know where I can buy one of these?

  • Ebay

  • The 2 companies makeing these movements are giving life time warranty on these movements. They are fantastic for the price. This particular watch comes with sapphire crystal both on front and back AR coated and an amazing case.

For the price Can be found for under 1k. IT is awsome!

  • Meh. China.... will break in a few months anyway.

  • very nice

  • The chinese only make copies of mechanical solutions all the time, stop buy from them! You prevent the Swiss from making great progress if the market of their watches collapse.

  • I would give my rigth lung for a Jaeger Lecoultre giro tourbillion watch or a decorated complication of the vacheron constantin patrimony line... but you know how much they cost? for us simple mortals yes, A FREAKIN' LUNG!

I regret to say that the chinesse are exploiding the market rigthfully, and their coppies look bery nice, and in order to have a simple tourbillon watch I would buy one of these.

  • Isn't that like saying only Rolls Royce should make cars? Don't worry about the Swiss, if someone is going to pay $40,000 for a watch these Chinese mechanicals won't stop them!

  • this a fantastic ! great video, thank you !

  • guitartec you seem to be very knowledgeable about chronometers... i guessed the Breguet; looks if it is Chinese God Bless.. it looks beautiful.. i don't think they can match the Swiss mechanically.

  • Part for part, the Chinese do very well. But sometimes there seems to be a problem with dust, dirt, or fibers in the movement. So yes, some of them stop working after a few months. But if you're willing to dismantle, clean, and oil one, you'll have a reliable watch for many years.

  • It's just amazing what the Chinese are doing.

  • Yes, and the quality of the work is excellent. The watch which was the basis for most Chinese tourbillons was made by Kiu Tai Yu, a master watchmaker from Hong Kong who heads the Beijing Watch Company. He himself supervised the production of the first series-production movements from several Chinese manufacturers, all of which is done with Swiss machines and expert hand assembly, which takes two to three months for each one, depending on the number of complications.

  • looks like a breguet

  • This appears to be the same movement as the Louis Bolle Presidio, however the cases are different. The fancy plates appear to be the same, though.
