The song was on a CD sung with the alternate lyrics with Tommy James playing guitar and singing harmony - I'm guessing he must have endorsed the lyrical shift. If it's ok with the artist it's ok with me.
That CD is well worth the purchase for any Dolly fans, btw - all covers - all great.
