  • @burtoncaly c'mon friend....I love France, I defend y'all. History is hIstory, I've no time to spit on France, when there are many more worth of my foot.

Vive La France! Vive Liberti! /watch?v=-KL76edqCKc

    /watch?v=IRANExn491U

  • @burtoncaly now onto all the other matters you mentioned. Kuwait owes you thanks for helping to liberate them...so thank you. I'm glad we could return the favor in WW2 for your aid in our Revolution. Though I believe WW1 a war started by European foolishness, the US does not get the credit it deserves for getting involved. Y'all were losing till we came...Bellieau Wood, I have kin who died there. I understand your decision with the recent Iraq War, still y'all ALWAYS forget Vietnam.

  • this is not really an important matter in the larger scope anyway.

  • I really cannot see how France sees itself as the founders and birthers of Democracy, our revolution and constitution predate theirs. There were a great number of philosophers and political thinkers, but it was in the US where these "ideas" were engineered into action, and this is why I as an American would claim that title.

  • @Blademaster865 in XVIII century the France's influence in whole Europe, and even in the Unites States was strong, the American revolution was the most inspired by the French Enlightenment period. Montesquieu, Rousseau, Voltaire was great French philosophers, the American constitution was also inspired by J. locke and others philosophers, but I think that France is one among others the cradle of modern democracy.anyway France with his ''ideas'' changed the world

  • @ashleysoulful I don't doubt the magnificent contributions of the French, but you may have it backwards. Montesquieu and Rousseau played a bigger role in the framing of our constitution. John Locke and the English Declaration of Rights, inspired the US Declaration.

The Scotch, English, French, Italian, Greek, and even Iroquois all share partial credit in adding to the ideas of democracy. Yet still, all these philosophers dreamed it, while the US is where it finally came to flesh and was born.

  • @ashleysoulful also did you know that Thomas Jefferson and George Mason and added their two cents to the France's Declaration to the Rights of Man?

  • @Blademaster865 Typical American arrogance, but I don't want to generalize, my English teacher is an American and she is very nice,

but American ppl love to pretend to be the great nation etc...the 1st founders of democracy was Greek, French and American revolution, was almost in the same time (few years before) and France help you with our money, and fought against British, as in Yorktown when France send almost 70% of the troops, in WW1 we can won only, but thanks for the WW2.

  • @burtoncaly oh don't be such a bore! "Typical American arrogance" never heard that before. To wonder which nation is the most arrogant, I'm sure France and the US are in a close tie for first, only we are a nation of ~300,000,000 and so yes are cumulative voice is louder. I will be honest and frank, but please I argue in friendship only, I need not your drama.

  • @Blademaster865 you are right .

French are sometimes jealous about the USA, because their domination in the world, in the international relation, in the military issues... are very strong, also the influence of english language, and you cultural products as movies, music... are very popular around the world,

whereas who knew French movies or music outside of France ? nobody, except some countries who are quite Francophile like belgium, switzerland or Canada,..

but we don't hate the US.

  • @Blademaster865 France also is a country with only 64 millions inhabitants, whereas the US it's almost 305 millions, and we have a little territory, for exemple if you see the state of Texas (the 2de largest state after Alaska) France it's only 80% of Texas...

but American and French are proud about what they are.... I often watch some US report in order to improve my english, it's funny see how american watch France :

    watch?v=yKS0yISz6xQ

    watch?v=uNR_6UuVl4s

    watch?v=eX7oezVO1Bk

  • @burtoncaly hmm ,yes I would certianly not be suprised to find that every frenchmen views Bill Maher as their absolute favorite American TV talkshow host. = } I don't doubt the man's intelligence, but from an American this man certianly lies on the liberal fringes of US society. But, if it helps you improve your english, who am I to step in your way. I'm honored that you take the effort. As for healthcare, Ths US' system of healthcare has long been broken and needs fixing.

  • @burtoncaly hmmm as for your "Islamic Problem" I can certianly see how this is of great inconvenience, and this video bring light to favoritism from authority, that I hadn't seen before. and yet...and yet I can't help remember that it was France and England that carved up the Middle East after WW1, and seeing perhaps this as being one of the effects. History has come back to bite the US in similar ways, and finding peaceful and just solutions are difficult.

  • @Blademaster865 If you want to knew more about France go on the wikipedia page and write ''france wiki'' its a good sum up about France.

vive la France et les états-unis !

  • @burtoncaly I'm sure wikipedia would have plenty to offer, but I'm sure their are better ways to discover the culture, politics, and history of a nation rather than thru wikipedia. I have seen great documentaries on youtube, and PBS Frontline also offers great insight on y'all.

  • @Blademaster865 We even sold you, the state of Louisiana for a low prize, why you are ungrateful towards France ? in the WW1 France did the most effort in the war, all historian can tell you that,

the US have declared the war in 1917 but you president didn't want to send his troops directly, you fought few months, When France won only some battles against Germany,

  • @burtoncaly The diplomat above, states France's title as the birthplace of democracy, yet you yourself admit that Greece was the birthplace, Rome the birthplace of Republican Govt. The US in 1789 was the 1st hybrid Govt which learned from mistakes of the past & included w/in itself an executive element. Written so well, it is the longest continually running form of Govt in the world.

  • @Blademaster865 We fought with you in the 1st gulf war, and we send you 1,2 billons dollars $ for the cost of the war, and moreover France lost 3 billons dollars, because we stoped our trade with Iraq, (American embargo)

Japan with France did the 1st economic contribution in this war for help the US, we even spend more money than UK,

we fought also in Afganistan and the most American continue to spit in our faces.....

    why you r so thankless?

  • @burtoncaly I recall, that your nation's heroe Maximillian Robespierre, great man that he was, became mad with power, and before long France fell under dictatorial rule with Napoleon, civil liberties thrown out in favor of power, and went on conquering much of Europe. So when did France become a Republic and stay one? The US Constitution and Bill of Rights, was copied worldwide. These are my reasons for previous statements. Still, we have shame for Slavery and the Native Americans.
