I've been driving artics for 9 years and this does look a tiny bit tricky if you're a newbie, but how difficult would it have been at 3:11 to straighten up and polish the job off nicely? @danny6574 Absolutely with you on this one, just wanted to add another problem: wet mirrors. If you've been pulling long two and three axle trailers for a while and get lumbered with a shorter single axle it really does throw you out. I find it amusing to see the comments of those who think they could do better but have never actually driven an artic. finally the guy seeing him back was totally incompetant and simply caused further frustration by being in the wrong place all the time.
firstly can you drive a HGV ? secondly a single axle is harder to reverse than a tri axle and the shorter the trailer the harder again its to reverse, he may have swapped trailer many times in the day so really this isnt bad driving he just may be inexperianced on single axles same as me ive never driven one myself

it is the fault of the co op man trying to direct him, hes telling him to swing in one direction up until the point he needs to go into the other direction not knowing you cannot swing it in the opposite direction straight away like a car, you have to have time to change the angle of the cab in relation to the trailer and only then will it change direction, in the meantime while the direction of the cab is changing the trailer carries on in the original direction. @sh0wst0ppa yes, because it is short and turns quicker it is easier to whip it in line, and like I said, I could use this space driving a 6x4 unit (yes 6x4 not a 4x2) and a tri axle trailer that is much longer, I have had shorter ones, those would be even easier to get in there because they don't need as much space and persuasion to get it to turn

For those of us that remember the day when we started driving artics and the dreaded blind side reverse . @andrivif lol a 4x2 unit with a tri axle trailer is easier , as its not as quick steering . But i will let you off as your not experianced . But again the reason they use single axle trailers is because they are smaller and turn quicker .
This guy really needs to look at all the space he has, he wouldn't even have to reverse in a S pattern, just go diagonally into the parkinglot and whip the trailer in line when he's right in front of the loading bay, really it's a 4x2 truck with a single axle city trailer, I'd be able to do that with a 6x4 truck and a 3 axle trailer and a total length of 17 meters and I'm not even experienced

The driver may well be new at the job [we all have to start somewhere] but there's two things to bear in mind here; 1, Single axle trailers such as this are notoriously difficult to follow and put where you want them. 2, To ANYBODY watching/guiding a truck into position, stand where the driver can ruddy well see YOU. [If You can't see Him-then he sure as hell can't see you. And remember, ANY PERSON GUIDING A VEHICLE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED. [Not the driver!!!]

The wagon driver is supposed to be competent in charge of a HGV vehicle, and this one just doesn't seem to be able to do it. Smaller the trailor, easier to lose. I took my lessons with a tri axle 45ft with no problem. On the day of the test i had a single axle 27ft, OMG what a fuckarooo, i passed but what a nightmare 8) .. Shunt Shunt!!!! .... O yeah the banks man neads a big slap but yeah, the driver should of sorted him out in the start....
Perhaps his first day or perhaps just used to a 45ft. I know Co-Op RDCs in the south use 27ft fixed axle trailers but also 27ft rear steers, 35ft tandem rear steers, 45ft tri axle fixed and 45ft tri axle rear steers so it may have been new territory for him. However his worst mistake was not getting out at the start and telling the "banksman" where to stand or telling him to f off!

If i was a copper I'd be checking his licence, i can't believe he could have passed his class one at that standard. The bloke on the tarmac is standing where the driver can't see, but the driver knows where he's aiming and that its clear, shouldn't need waving in, its a wagon not a plane. Some drivers say those trailers are a pig to reverse, but they can't be that bad.

I drive for the co-op them single axle trailers are a real pain to reverse , looking at that though i would of went down the street turned round so the shop was on my right hand side and reversed in on my good side , and people on the back door laughing , laugh all you want were on twice as much as you , now crack on and get the T bags out haha

@sh0wst0ppa yes, because it is short and turns quicker it is easier to whip it in line, and like I said, I could use this space driving a 6x4 unit (yes 6x4 not a 4x2) and a tri axle trailer that is much longer, I have had shorter ones, those would be even easier to get in there because they don't need as much space and persuasion to get it to turn

But i will let you off as your not experianced . But again the reason they use single axle trailers is because they are smaller and turn quicker .

This guy really needs to look at all the space he has, he wouldn't even have to reverse in a S pattern, just go diagonally into the parkinglot and whip the trailer in line when he's right in front of the loading bay, really it's a 4x2 truck with a single axle city trailer, I'd be able to do that with a 6x4 truck and a 3 axle trailer and a total length of 17 meters and I'm not even experienced

I'd like to ask if the people swearing in this video if they have ever driven a short 1 axle articulated lorry? If not I suggest you shut up. These are very tricky trailers to reverse and the smaller they are the harder they are. Secondly who's the butcher banksman? He is actually the one responsible for the drivers actions as the driver has to follow his instructions. The red Rover also in the clip is also a obstacle. The driver may well be new at the job [we all have to start somewhere] but there's two things to bear in mind here; 1, Single axle trailers such as this are notoriously difficult to follow and put where you want them. 2, To ANYBODY watching/guiding a truck into position, stand where the driver can ruddy well see YOU. [If You can't see Him-then he sure as hell can't see you. And remember, ANY PERSON GUIDING A VEHICLE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED. [Not the driver!!!]

The wagon driver is supposed to be competent in charge of a HGV vehicle, and this one just doesn't seem to be able to do it. Thats wrong, he shouldn't be driving an hgv if thats the best he can do, He clearly needs more training before he causes any damage. I don't think the traffic office would be laughing at all.

Smaller the trailor, easier to lose. I took my lessons with a tri axle 45ft with no problem. On the day of the test i had a single axle 27ft, OMG what a fuckarooo, i passed but what a nightmare 8) .. Shunt Shunt!!!! .... O yeah the banks man neads a big slap but yeah, the driver should of sorted him out in the start....

Perhaps his first day or perhaps just used to a 45ft. I know Co-Op RDCs in the south use 27ft fixed axle trailers but also 27ft rear steers, 35ft tandem rear steers, 45ft tri axle fixed and 45ft tri axle rear steers so it may have been new territory for him. However his worst mistake was not getting out at the start and telling the "banksman" where to stand or telling him to f off!
