Watching your other videos, I know you are a better pianist then I am and I know it isn't easy to play in front of an audience. That being said, I didn't enjoy this performance. Too many wrong keys being hit and the tempo goes much too fast once the triplets set in (compared to the tempo you started playing it in).

I would suggest memorizing pieces you want to perform, way less mistakes from my experience. Anyway keep up the good work!

I can play this tune up to the bit where I have to combine triplets with the usual quavers. I'm fairly comfortable with just triplets by themselves between non-triplets or say, a set of triplets in a crotchet beat with a crotchet beat in the other hand, but beyond that I'm hopeless... for some reason, I just can't get my brain to grasp the idea...

anyone with suggestions for learning to play those parts? It seems that most final fantasy songs have something like this, so I'm... dead.

I once had to record a professional recording in front of a tv camera for a cello song. That was in janurary about in middle school. I messed up so much, had to restart about 4 times.

This Aerith's Theme arrangement is in the Final Fantasy Piano Collection VII. You can find this book on Amazon or Ebay or GameMusic. It costs about $25 plus shipping cost.

While I agree with you (though it's not that hard a piece to figure out by ear!), Nobou doesn't get a cent of it, I believe. Square owns the rights to it, not him. Bum deal if you ask me.

@joechip123 Correct. Nobuo does not receive a dime from Square Enix Eidos. All the music rights belong to them. SEE is lucky enough to have had the opportunity to work with Nobuo to begin with.

of course though...the performance itself, as Im sure you are aware of, isn't as good as you're regular recordings. But I've taken into account that this was a recital performance with an audience too. Well...I normally have no audience at all, and play on just my grand. Playing on a different piano all of a sudden with even just one person as an audience can be quite challenging, if it's new to you. At least that's my experience...hehe

Oh, it's so much different playing to an audience instead of just your camera. When making videos for YouTube, you can try as often as you want until you have a nice recording. In a concert, you only have "one chance". There are always mistakes.

This was my first solo concert, the second time performing on a grand piano. Usually I only play in groups or in a BigBand. One hour of playing, including nervosity, was a completely new challenge. Considering being nervous, there were of course mistakes, and with it came the tendency of getting faster. But I hope, the more I perform to an audience, the better it will get.
